123 Rot In Hell

She positioned her body to charge and strike. Just as she was about to take her first step, her phone buzzed. She turned around and saw that it was Yang Feng calling her. Angrily, she muted her phone and blocked him.

No less than a second later, one of the bodyguards' phones rang. She turned her head and the man picked it up.

"Hello, Boss? Yes, she has the weapon ready. It's the metal pole of the UV drip... Yes, she's in a fighting stance. No, we didn't plan on touching her...Yes, we're in the barrier stance. Boss-" He didn't get to finish his sentence when Zhao Lifei roughly jabbed the first man in the front. He clutched his stomach, groaning in pain.

"Boss, she has begun attacking!" The bodyguard practically yelled, watching as she was about to lift her hand to bring down the final blow.

"H-hand the phone to her? A-are you sure-- No, I'm not doubting your command." The bodyguard was terrified at the threat he had just heard and readily handed his phone to his comrades who passed it along until it was held up in front of her face.

She didn't take the phone and chose to glare at it. "Tell your stupid boss, I don't want to talk to him."

The poor messenger holding the phone nervously looked at his friends, but none of them dared to take the phone. He cried on the inside and braced himself for the hail storm coming his way. Oh Gods above, please spare me...He cried to himself, hesitatingly placing the phone to his ear.

He immediately regretted doing so because his ear felt as if they were frozen on the spot. Even through the phone, he could feel his boss' terrifying temperament!

"B-Boss—"

"HAND THE PHONE BACK TO HER!" He snarled, his voice rumbling like that of a fearsome monster.

The bodyguard dropped to his knees and trembled in fear. "Y-y-yes, sir." With two hands, he offered the phone to Zhao Lifei, which she looked at it with disdain.

"L-Lady Boss, p-p-please spare me and take the phone." He whispered to Zhao Lifei, his voice is shaky as his form. He was a well-trained soldier from the main sector of the Yang Clan who had years of experience, but even so, upon hearing the frighteningly terrifying voice of his boss, he was too scared to do anything.

"You can tell your Boss to rot in hell—"

"P-please, L-lady Boss!" The bodyguard pleaded, resorting to the petty form of groveling for mercy.

"I have a wife, kids, and a family to feed—" He rambled on, continuing to lie about his nonexistent wife and children.

"And a dog named Xiao Bai—"

Zhao Lifei gritted her teeth in annoyance and snatched the phone from his hand. "What do you want?!" She fumed, annoyed at Yang Feng. She knew he was purposely stalling for time until he got here to personally discipline her.

The bodyguards flinched in fear. They truly applauded her for her boldness, but they also feared for the poor woman's head! It would really fly if she continued talking to their boss like that!

Yang Feng breathed in through in his nose and breathed out through his mouth to calm himself down. He couldn't lose his temper with her, not now, especially when she finally decided to talk to him. "Get back to your hospital bed—"

"For the 100th time, I don't want to."

"Why are you so damn stubborn?!" He hissed through the phone, turning to Hu Wei and motioning for him to speed up the car. Hu Wei immediately stepped on the gas, driving the car to its limits. His boss had covered the expense in the past when he zoomed to Zhao Lifei's house, so Hu Wei knew he would do it again.

"Because the hospital room is boring! I slept so much, I'm tired of sleeping! It's lonely and boring in here, and the smell is bothering me—"

"I'm on my way there to keep you company if it's lonely and boring." His voice became slightly softer. He had forgotten she only had one friend she could talk to, and Yang Ruqin must've been busy the entire day. He thought back to the night she had gotten drunk and how alone she was.

"I don't want your company, you're so overbearing—"

"Well, too bad. Because of your stubbornness, you've forced me to go there and be your company."

"Well, I hope you know I won't be in my room when you come." She frowned, hanging up the phone. She tossed it at the men and without warning, swung her way through. They didn't dare to directly touch her to stop her from hitting them. The men tried their best to dodge her, but it was futile as she did really bad damage on them. She saw the phone ringing again and the bodyguard immediately picked up.

All of the bodyguards eagerly turned to that man and waited for the orders of forcefully apprehending her. "Sir? Yes, she's swinging her way through. You've arrived? Yes, we'll hold her off longer—"

Seizing their momentary distraction, Zhao Lifei broke through the tiny clearing she saw and sprinted down the halls, startling the men.

"Hey! You can't run—"

It was too late, she was already winding down the hallways. She turned back and saw they were chasing her, so she turned a corner and decided against running further. Her stomach was really hurting her, which meant her wound might've reopened. She looked left and right, and saw one of the hospital doors was left ajar. Without thinking her action through, she opened the door and slipped in, locking it behind her.

Her heart hammered in fear when she heard the nearing footsteps. She held her breath and hid under the door as the footsteps were getting louder and louder.

A quiet and soft voice spoke up. "Hello."

Zhao Lifei jumped in fear and turned around to see a young girl sitting on the hospital bed. Surrounding her were dozens of vases of flowers resulting in an almost overwhelmingly cloying scent. The floor around her bed was piled with gifts.

"Hello." Zhao Lifei was surprised to see her. She looked no more than eight years old and was a very pretty child who would undoubtedly become a beauty when she grew older. But something about her resembled a boy she used to know.

"What's your name?" She asked her just as the footsteps outside became louder.

"You're running from people." The girl pointed out.

"Yes I am—"

"Quick! Look for her before Boss gets upstairs!" The voice was loud which meant they were very close.

Zhao Lifei panicked as she looked left and right in hopes of finding a place to hide or escape from the bodyguards.
