159 Your Future

Zhao Lifei pushed the thought to the back of her mind as she opened the door to Granse. She had expected the sales representatives to greet her once she stepped a foot inside, but they did not do so. Their faces were filled with mockery and one of them even had a tiny sneer on her face.

"We apologize Ma'am, but the dress you have commissioned is unavailable now. It was purchased by a woman who didn't need the dress to be tailored at such short notice." One of the sales representatives spoke up. She was an older woman in her late thirties whose face was beginning to form wrinkles. Her mocking smirk was very prominent, filled with confidence.

Zhao Lifei realized, this woman, too, had a strong backer to dare offend her. It truly seemed she was too lenient nowadays. Everyone seemed to think they would get away with insulting her. She decided it was time to revert back to her old ways.

"The dress was already purchased yesterday." Zhao Lifei deadpanned.

"Oh, don't worry. The money has already been wired back to your account." A younger sales representative spoke up. She appeared to be in her early twenties and had the "fresh out of college" vibe. Her lips were curled into a disgusted frown. As expected of a woman who relied on a wealthy man for resources. In the end, this woman only seemed to care about money! The media really portrayed her well!

Zhao Lifei pressed her lips together. "Where is the designer, Wu Subing?" She didn't have time to chit chat with these useless associates whose only objective was to stand in her way.

The sales associates exchanged knowing glances, their lips pulled into a sneer. "Our designer does not mingle himself with low-lives and women of low morals. It would damage Granse's reputation"

Zhao Lifei took a threatening step forward, her eyes flaring in warning. "I suggest you watch your tongue if you don't want to lose it." She softly said, her words barely above a whisper.

In her haste, she'd forgotten to personally bring bodyguards, but she knew the ones her grandfather assigned to her were not that far away. All she had to do was send him a text and they would come barging in, ready to apprehend anyone she commanded them to.

When they became as white as paper, Zhao Lifei strutted past them and was about to walk to the room she remembered, when the sales associate pressed an alarm. The sound blared through the air, ear-piercing and incredibly loud. It was the siren indicating that they had called the police on her.

Zhao Lifei felt her patience reach its limits. With the sound also came bodyguards who rushed into the store, their builds wide and burly. They didn't possess any visible weapons but with how their arms were positioned, one could already guess what they were holding.

Zhao Lifei looked at the men, a perplexed expression on her face. These weren't her grandfather's men. None of them wore the small badge near the breast pocket of their suits. Upon seeing these were the same men that restrained her in the hospital, she knew they were Yang Feng's men.

Upon seeing such terrifying men whose auras were much scarier than their muscular appearances, the sales associate paled in fear. They trembled on the spot, visibly nervous and fearful.

"Madam, how would you like us to deal with them?"

"Turn off the alarm and tell the police to head back first." Zhao Lifei instructed and sure enough, one man stepped forward and within seconds, disengaged it. Another called the police department using Yang Feng's name, whereas the rest stood rooted on the spot, awaiting her orders.

When the sales associates heard Yang Feng's name, they became so pale, one would think they were ghosts instead of live, breathing humans. Whatever this woman said from now on was not simply a threat, it was an order.

"Regarding these women," She scanned their petrified faces. "Fire them. I expect to never see them work a sales job again in their life."

Zhao Lifei was not nice. She rarely was. That was not her reputation or position. Whoever was foolish enough to challenge her, she was the type to mercilessly stomp them to pieces. She usually got angry at petty things, but when she was truly tested, her grudge had no limits.

Upon hearing her words, the women instantly got on their knees to beg and grovel for forgiveness. "Miss, we apologize for the way we behaved, it will never happen again—"

Zhao Lifei scoffed at their words. They did not feel remorse or regret, it was simply fear that drove their apology. Swiftly, she turned around and was prepared to leave the scene when suddenly, one of them woman grabbed her leg. It was the younger one, but instead of an expression filled with guilt, it was filled with fierce hatred.

"You think you're so amazing just because you have money?!" She snarled, standing up. She decided if she was going to go down, she might as well have the last say.

"You couldn't even protect your own dress. How embarrassing!" She shouted, reaching out to grab Zhao Lifei's arm, but this time, the bodyguards were quick to push the woman back onto the ground before she could even touch a hair on Zhao Lifei.

Zhao Lifei's composed and bored expression infuriated the woman even more. But before she could say something, Zhao Lifei scoffed. "It's less embarrassing than your future." After that, she swiftly turned around and walked out of the store, having the last say in this foolish argument.

Once she and the bodyguards were a short distance away from Granse, she turned to the men. "This is an order." Her eyes scanned the frightening tall and muscular men in front of her who looked more like professional gangsters rather than regular bodyguards. "Keep this incident from Yang Feng."

"With all due respect, we only listen to orders from our Boss—"

"And your Boss has assigned you to me." Her words struck a chord within them. She tried a different approach. "I am your Boss from now on. What I say goes." She crossed her arms, an intimidating expression on her face. When they saw how fierce she was, her expression unwavering despite the cruel and deathly aura emanating from them, they understood why their Boss favored this woman so much.

"This incident will not reach Yang Feng. It's an order, not a suggestion." She paused. "And if I find out any of you guys leaked it…" She saw them stiffen the slightest bit when she was able to make direct eye contact with them despite the thickly tinted sunglasses they had on.

She revealed a sickly sweet smile. "Trust me, it's not a good idea to piss me off." She turned around and walked away, leaving the men dumbfounded as they stared at her back, so small and dainty, yet strong enough to threaten trained killers like them without any hint of fear.

Never judge a book by its cover. This phrase fit her perfectly. An exquisitely beautiful face and an even deadlier hand. The warning was clear. She was not one to be messed with.
