Ruby slumped onto the ground.

They’ve publicly announced that anyone who’s even remotely related to the Zoffs will be executed without any mercy!”

“From the look of things, they’re intending to annihilate the Zoffs and all related persons! Sebastian has been hung up. His limbs have been cut off and he’s now just a stump of a human being! Everyone in L.A. is scared now, and they wish for nothing more than to separate themselves cleanly from the Zoffs!”

Lucy’s face was ashen.

The unforeseen events at the Zoffs fell completely outside of Lucy’s plans, catching her off-guard.

“Have you found out what happened? What exactly is going on?” Lucy asked, “Didn’t Sebastian go to kill Heller? How did he end up like that? Could this be…”

… Heller’s doing? That was what Lucy feared the most!

The butler was taken aback. Then, he shook his head and said, “Ms. Lucy, you’re over-thinking it! How would a good-for-nothing like Heller possibly be able to do that? From the information I got from the Commander of the South’s men, for some reason, Sebastian offended the Hades Swords’ master. That’s why he’s in such a predicament!”

Heller’s heart ached fiercely. He said softly, “You aren’t the one in the wrong. They are the ones who are in the wrong!”

Ruby was choked with sobs. “That old man wordlessly helped us for five years! But he’s dead now! He’s dead!”

Heller clenched his fists. “Rest assured that I will avenge him! I will make Lucy and everyone else pay in blood for their debts!”

The sobbing Ruby said, “But what about Nelly? Sebastian has captured her! Heller, you must save Nelly! Save our daughter!”

Heller said seriously, “Nelly’s fine now. I’ve already sent someone to take her to the hospital!”

Ruby suddenly grabbed Heller’s arm, exerting such great force that it left bruises. She said anxiously, “Really? Don’t lie to me, Heller! I beg you, don’t lie to me! Nelly is everything to me! Nelly is my life itself! I can’t live without her!”

Heller said earnestly, “It’s true. She’s already at the hospital receiving emergency treatment!”

Ruby heaved a huge sigh of relief and wept in joy. “Okay, okay! My daughter is safe! Heller, I hate you! It’s all your fault! I hate you!”

After the outburst, Ruby slumped into Heller’s arms.

Heller touched Ruby’s forehead—it was terribly hot. She was having a high fever.

In the span of a single day, too many things had happened. Ruby suffered great shocks one after another, and her emotions had been led on a roller-coaster ride. Not only had she not eaten or drunk anything all day, but she even knelt outside the Xanders in the rain for more than two hours.

She was already worn out, both physically and mentally!

Heller handed Ruby to Lindsey and instructed, “Send her to the hospital and take good care of her.”
