Corbin and Rebecca cuddled in the bed, looking at each other's faces. The happiness of their reunion glowed brightly in their eyes.
"I can't believe that we're already reunited with each other today. I've been dreaming of this day to come and it's finally happening! Darling, don't leave my side ever again, please?" Corbin said in a pleading tone.
"Okay, let's start over again. As long you stop pursuing Laura and you're not going to hurt my friends - then I will stay by your side forever. That's all I wanted from you. Can you promise me that - right now?" Rebecca asked him again.
"Sure! I will not pursue Laura and I won't do anything to find your friends. I'll forget everything about the past - just for you and the baby's sake," Corbin assured her.
"How about your Mother and Father? They will get mad if you no longer cooperate with their cause. What are you gonna do about it?" Rebecca pursued the topic.
Corbin released a deep sigh. "My Mother is no longer in this world," he said sadly.
A frown appeared on Rebecca's head. "Huh? What do you mean? Where is your Mother?"
"My Mother performed a ritual that will bring her soul to the netherworld to find my Grandfather's soul. But until now her soul hasn't return to her body and I presumed that my Mother's soul can no longer return in this lifetime because she encounter an accident there, unless a miracle will happen," Corbin said.
Rebecca doesn't know what to say to her husband. Part of her was happy that Sylvia suffered such a terrible fate in the netherworld. "I'm sorry for your loss, husband," she said. It can't be denied that her husband lose a mother and it must be very hard for him to accept. "How about your Father? Is he okay?"
Corbin shook his head. "I'm deeply worried about my Father..."
"Why?"
"Ever since my Mother's absence, he's looking sad and lonely all the time. He even told me that he will end his life and follow my Mother into the netherworld," Corbin replied in a wretched voice.
"Oh, that's sad. I hope your Father can cope up with the absence of your Mother's presence in his life," Rebecca said, trying to console her husband but don't know-how.
"Alright, let's not talk about my parents anymore. Let's talk about our living arrangement. Are you sure you don't want to live with me in my parents manor? It's a much bigger place compared here," Corbin said.
Rebecca shook her head. "Nah, I'm much comfortable living here because Ebony, Anastasia and Grandma Sitas is here. They will keep me company while you are busy with your family affairs," she replied.
"Tell me honestly. If my father is no longer living in the family home, would you stay there with me?" Corbin asked.
"Yeah, sure," she replied. "I'm sorry to say that if I see any of your parents, I will remember what happened in the past. I agree to be reunited with you as long I will live in a different house. Please forgive me husband if I offended you with my words," she stated thoughtfully.
"It's okay, I didn't take it to heart. I know the struggle and pain you have gone through because of my parents and I don't want you to keep reminded of that painful incident everyday that you live with me. Don't worry although I love my parents, I also love you and our baby. I'm in the middle, maintaining balance in both sides... and from now on I will always look out for you and our baby's best interest," Corbin said and kissed her head affectionately.
"Thank you husband for understanding about my feelings towards your parents," Rebecca said, feeling grateful for his broad understanding of her difficult situation.
Corbin was silent for a moment. "Um... wife... can I ask you a favor?" he said, not sure if she will agree.
Rebecca looked at him. "What is it?"
"I would like to invite you to a dinner to meet my Father, even for a few hours. No need to stay there in our house the whole day. I will bring you back here after dinner is over. I just want to tell him that I already found you. I'm sure he will feel happy for us. Would you go there with me to meet my Father?" Corbin asked, feeling hopeful.
Rebecca sighed deeply.
Corbin noticed that his wife was having difficulty answering his question. "It's okay if you refuse my invitation for the dinner. I do understand your hatred towards my parents. Don't worry, if you refused I won't get upset," he told her reassuringly.
Rebecca wants to make her husband happy. "Sure! As long we won't stay there for long. After all, meeting your father for a few hours won't kill me," she said.
Corbin smiled happily. "Thank you so much, wife! You make me so happy today," he said. He was thinking that bringing his pregnant wife to the family home might cheer up his grief-stricken father.
"When do you want me to visit your father?" Rebecca asked.
"Three days later. I would prepare a feast for your return to my side," Corbin said happily.
"Okay," Rebecca said.
Corbin looked at his wife's eyes. "I love you so much!" he said.
"I love you too!" Rebecca replied, her eyes shining with love and affection for him.
They hugged each other tightly.
A few minutes later.
Rebecca was already yawning. "I'm feeling sleepy, husband," she said, covering her mouth.
"Okay, let's go to sleep," Corbin said, drawing his wife closer to his body.
The couple sleeps peacefully through the night.
...
The following day.
They ate breakfast together in the dining room.
After they finished eating, they retired into the living room.
Corbin bid goodbye to his wife. "I'll go home first and inform my father about your return. Then prepare the feast in honor of your comeback into our family," he stated.
"Okay, come back soon!" Rebecca said merrily.
"I'll pop up here anytime of the day to check on you," Corbin replied, he looked adoringly at his wife.
"Okay, take care, husband! I love you!" Rebecca said, smiling radiantly.
"I love you more, darling," Corbin said and planted a kiss on her lips.
The couple hugged each other for a few minutes, savoring each other's presence.
"Ill go now, bye wife!" Corbin said.
"Bye, husband," Rebecca replied.
A few minutes later, Corbin vanished from the living room.
A smiling Ebony went to Rebecca's side. "Wow, love is in the air!" she said, clapping her hands in glee. "Do you want to go to the garden to see the flowers, my lady?" she suggested.
"Yes!" Rebecca replied with a smile.
"Let's go!" Ebony said.
The women went to the garden, Anastasia and Grandma Sitas were already there, admiring the colorful flowers in the garden.
...
~Windless Mountain~
Elva, Veronica, Graven, and Terros... gathered at the dining table to eat breakfast.
Terros looked at Veronica. "Do you want to go with us to the cave to witness the cursed King's downfall?" he asked.
Veronica nodded her head and replied. "Sure! I would love to!"
"Okay, after we finished eating, the four of us will go there to witness the end of the cursed King," Terros stated.
Elva looked at them. "Alright, let's enjoy our meal," she said.
They picked up their spoons and began putting food on their plates. They ate breakfast in silence.
A few minutes later, they finished eating.
Elva and Graven retired to the terrace while Terros helped Veronica in washing the dishes and tidying the kitchen.
Veronica glanced at Terros, he's cleaning the table with a kitchen cloth. "How are you, guys, going to end the King's life?" she asked curiously.
"Graven and I will shower him with fire and burn him to death until his remains will turn into ashes. I can't wait to finish this event so that we can finally return to our normal life," Terros said wistfully.
Veronica smiled. "Ah, you already miss your hut, your garden and your poultry?" Veronica asked.
"Yeah, I missed them all. I missed my place. Although, this place is heavenly and I like to visit this place from time to time, still no place like home," Terros replied with a smile.
Veronica went to Terros' side. "Grandpa, what do you think Elva and Graven were discussing in the terrace right now?" she asked.
Terros shrugged. "I dunno. Go ask them!" he said jokingly.
Veronica smiled while shaking her head.
Terros looked at her. "Are you shipping them?" he asked.
Veronica shook her head. "No! No! I'm just curious, that's all. Why should I ship them when Graven is a married guy? Besides, Elva made it clear to me that she has no intention in pursuing romantic relationship with Graven. She was satisfied with their baby growing in her tummy," she stated.
"Good! I'm glad that you are not shipping them because things will only get more complicated because Graven already know that he is the father of Elva's baby..." Terros confided.
Veronica's eyes widened in shock. "Really-? And what did Graven say about the whole thing?" she asked curiously.
"Good thing I managed to convince him not to confront Elva about that issue for the time being. I told him that the goddess wants to keep the identity of the baby's father a secret, he must respect her decision. Elva has no plan to destroy Graven's married life with Laura. So, it's better to keep silent for now. Graven agreed, but once the baby is already born, I don't know what will happen next. Let's hope for a peaceful confrontation between Graven and Elva in the future," he said wistfully.
Veronica sighed. "It's funny how things lead to another and to another. In the end, we are all connected to each other. What a small word we live in!"
"Indeed!" Terros said in agreement.
A few minutes later.
Terros looked at Veronica. "Are you done, daughter? Let's go now to the cave and kill the King once and for all!" he said in a resolute voice.
"Alright, let's go!" Veronica said.
They left the kitchen and proceed to the terrace. When they arrived there, Elva was not there with Graven.
"Where is Elva, son?" Terros asked.
"She's in her bedroom to get something before we go to the cave," Graven replied.
"Ah, okay. Let's wait here for a while. No one can enter that cave, only Elva," Veronica said.
The trio directed their gaze at the sea of clouds gathering at the mountain top in the distance.
"What a beautiful day to kill the King!" Terros commented.
Graven nods his head in agreement. "I'm looking forward to end his life today in my hands!" he said, his eyes blazing with hatred.
Elva exited the door and went to the terrace. She looked at them. "Are you ready, guys?" she asked.
"We're ready!" the trio replied in chorus.
Elva waved her hand, they vanished from the terrace in the blink of an eye.
