Sir Nicholas's entourage was having a good time on the beach, enjoying the pleasant weather, breathtaking view of the calm ocean, white sandy shore, and the wonderful company of family, friend's and loved ones.
But just like anything else in this world, all good things have come to end.
At 7:00 in the evening after eating dinner, they finally left the beach, going home to rest for the night.
Rebecca waved goodbye at her friends boarding the carriages, then she looked at Terros. "Grandpa, why don't you go with them? I can go home on my own," she said.
Terros shook his head. "No. I must accompany you back home. I told Ebony that I will send you home myself to ensure your safety. Let's go!" he said.
"Okay, as you wish, Grandpa," Rebecca said with a smile.
They went inside the picnic hut and vanished from the place.
A moment later.
They landed in the living room of Corbin's manor.
There was no one in the living room during that time.
"Thank you for accompanying me home safely, Grandpa," Rebecca said.
"Don't mention it. I'll go now. See you again on Laura and Graven's wedding day," Terros replied.
Rebecca smiled and said, "Alright, see you then..."
Terros smiled and waved his hand goodbye, he vanished from the living room a few seconds later.
When Rebecca was about to climb the stairs, Corbin materialized beside her.
"Husband!" Rebecca said in a startled voice.
"Did you enjoy your beach outing with your friends?" Corbin asked.
"Yes, very much!" Rebecca replied happily.
"Good!" Corbin said and hold his wife's hands and said, "Let's head to our room and rest for the night."
Rebecca inspected his face, trying to see if he was mad. "Are you upset that I joined my friends on the beach? I'm sorry I wasn't able to inform you about it. Grandpa Terros came here suddenly and... it's a rush invitation..." she apologized.
Corbin sighed. "No need to apologize, wife. I'm not mad or upset at you for joining the beach outing with your friends. I'm completely okay with it," he said and planted a kiss on her head.
"Thank you," Rebecca said, her tone filled with gladness and relief.
The couple climbed the stairs, holding each other's hands.
They arrived at their room and Rebecca changed into her pajamas.
A few minutes later, they're already lying side by side on the bed.
Rebecca looked at her husband. "Laura and Graven are going to have their second wedding soon. They invited you and me to come, I told them yes because I don't have the heart to tell them that you might not come..." she said sadly.
Corbin saw the sadness flashing in his wife's pretty face. "Why are you sad?" he asked.
Rebecca pouted. "Because you're not going to go with me to the wedding, am I right?"
"Who says that I'm not going?" Corbin said.
Rebecca's eyes sparkled. "You... you mean to say that you will go with me to attend their wedding?" she asked in disbelief.
Corbin nods his head. "Yes, of course!" he replied in a serious tone.
"That's awesome!" Rebecca gushes happily.
"But I need to meet your friends first. It would be awkward if I will suddenly appear on their wedding day - we haven't properly introduce to each other yet," Corbin said.
"You mean-?"
"Yeah, set a time and place for your friends and I to meet. Let's make the peace between both parties official," Corbin stated.
Rebecca was blown away by the seriousness she saw in her husband's eyes. "Are you sure about your decision to finally meet them?" she asked again in utter disbelief.
"Of course! I'm serious! Things like this are to be taken seriously. I'm willing to meet your friends because I know that if this matter can be resolved quickly, it can make you completely happy," Corbin said, looking at his wife adoringly.
Rebecca's eyes shimmered, tears of happiness sprang from her eyes. She hugged her husband tightly due to the overwhelming gladness that she feels right now. "Thank you so much!" she said, crying in happiness.
Corbin rubbed her wife's back. "Hush now... stop crying... I told you, I'm willing to do everything for you," he said gently.
"I'm just happy, husband. The tears I'm crying right now is tears of happiness," she said.
"You and Laura set the date and the place. The only people I would like to see in the meeting venue is the four of us," he said.
"Okay, I'll inform them after they returned to their place. As of now, they're at the South Pond Town visiting their relatives and family," Rebecca explained.
"Alright, take your time then, don't rush," he said.
"Thank you so much, husband," Rebecca said delightfully and kissed his lips tenderly.
The couple shared a passionate kiss that lasted for a few minutes.
"Let's make love tonight," Corbin whispered in her ears.
Rebecca looked at him in amusement. "How? My tummy is so big already," she protested.
Corbin grinned. "I have my own effective ways..." he replied naughtily.
"Alright, lead the way," Rebecca responded, giggling.
A few minutes later, the room was filled with moaning and panting coming from the couple's lips.
Two hours later.
Tired but fully sated, the couple drifted into a deep slumber, enveloped in a sweet embrace all night long.
...
The following day.
The couple was eating breakfast happily in the dining room.
Rebecca looked at her husband. "I'm going to visit Laura's place in two days and inform her of your decision for the meet-up," she said.
"Okay, no problem," Corbin said.
Rebecca was thinking about something. "Um... husband... this thing has been bothering my head for a while..."
"What is it, spill!" he said.
"Um... are you going to inform your father that you're going to establish a peace agreement with the enemy?" she inquired.
Corbin was silent for a moment, pondering about his wife's question. Should he inform his father about it?
After a few minutes of deliberation, he shook his head. "I think it's no longer necessary... Besides, I don't want to burden my father with these things. We both know that he loves my mother so much and he always supports my mother's endeavors blindly. Once he will know about it, old wounds will resurface and it might awaken the old grudges in his heart. I don't want things to escalate like that... so it's better not to include him in this matter. Anyways, he will depart from this world soon. Let's give him some peace to enjoy while he's still alive..." he said, ending his long narration with a positive note.
"Okay, I got it!" Rebecca spoke merrily.
A few minutes later.
They finished eating and returned to their bedroom.
Corbin kissed his wife's lips. "I gotta go to report for work," he said.
"Okay. See you later. I love you," she said sweetly.
"I love you more," Corbin replied tenderly and gave his wife a quick hug. He went to the closet, grabbed his cape, and vanished from the room a moment later.
Smiling, Rebecca put her embroidery tools in the basket and exited the room going to the garden. She's going to spend the rest of her morning in the garden together with Ebony and Grandma Sitas.
...
~South Pond Town~
Nicholas and his family decided to give their visitors a tour of the entire town to see the latest developments... including the bridge that is being constructed that will connect the next town and other neighboring areas.
Then a port was also being constructed to accommodate larger ships for trading goods and bringing supplies to the neighboring town. There was also a big public park under construction and soon a new railway.
The whole town was buzzing with progress.
After the tour...
Nicholas brought the entire family to the recently opened four-story restaurant near the sea, giving the visitors a wonderful view of the ocean. The establishment was owned by one of his friends in the business circle.
They ate their sumptuous dinner with a good appetite, enjoying the pleasant atmosphere, serenaded by the gentle breeze blowing from the ocean.
One hour later.
They finally left the restaurant in high spirit, boarded their carriage heading back to Sir Nicholas's mansion.
Inside the couple's carriage.
Laura looked at her husband. "South Pond Town is going to become a big city soon due to the infrastructures and latest developments being develop around the town," she observed.
"Yeah, there's a rumor circulating in the business circle that this town will be granted a city title soon," Graven agreed.
"That's awesome!" Laura grinned.
"Do you want to live here in the heart of the South Pond City?" he asked.
"Why?"
"If you want to live here in the town, I can buy us a house and lot property anytime you like," Graven said.
Laura smiled brightly. "Um... let me think about it first," she said.
"Okay, take your time, no need to rush. As long you're ready to relocate here, I will find a house and lot to buy right away. Money is never a problem," Graven said and kissed her temple.
Laura nodded her head and smiled.
After a few minutes of travel, Nicholas's entourage finally arrived at his mansion. They exited their vehicles and entered the mansion.
Nicholas addressed his family. "Guys, I hope you enjoyed our tour around the town. I'm going now to my room to rest for the night. Good night everyone! See you all tomorrow!" he said cheerfully.
"Night night! Sleep well!" the crowd replied in unison.
Everyone climbed the stairs and went to their respective room to retire for the night.
Inside the couple's room.
Laura and Graven were cuddling in the bed.
Graven looked at his wife. "Did you enjoy our tour around the town, wife?" he asked.
Laura nodded her head. "Yes, very much!"
"Good..."
"What time we will leave tomorrow?" Laura asked.
"After lunch," Graven replied.
"Ah, okay, there still enough time prepare..." Laura said.
A moment of silence enveloped them.
"Um... do you think Rebecca's husband will attend our wedding?" Laura asked.
Graven shook his head and replied, "I'm not sure, but Rebecca will surely attend our wedding..."
Laura sighed.
"Why are you sighing?" he asked.
"I hope Rebecca's husband is willing to meet us soon so that we can finally established peace between two parties," Laura said wistfully.
"I hope so..." Graven said.
The couple continues cuddling in the bed, they fall asleep half an hour later.
