That night, the wedding venue was jam-packed with vampires wearing their best attire.
The men wore their black suits. While the women wore different designs of black long gowns, the color motif that Sylvia had chosen for all the guests to wear that night. She wants to make sure that the bride is the only one wearing a bright red wedding gown for that occasion so that her beauty will stand out among the rest.
A piece of mellow opera music drifted in the air. Everyone turned their gaze to the entrance of the venue, as the radiant bride walked slowly on the red carpet, looking stunning and beautiful in her flowing red wedding gown. She was holding a white bouquet in her hands and a lovely smile on her face.
The crowd erupted into a murmur of admiration for the beautiful bride.
Rebecca fixed her gaze on Corbin who is already waiting at the podium beside his father. She smiled brightly at him.
Sylvia was walking slowly behind Rebecca ten meters away so as not to steal the thunder away from the bride.
Rebecca finally reached her husband's side.
Corbin reached for his bride's hand and smiled at her.
In front of them is an old vampire priest wearing a black robe.
He looked at the couple and smiled. "Let's begin the wedding ceremony..." he said.
Zalvo and Sylvia stood a few meters away from the couple.
The crowd plunged into silence as the vampire priest began chanting Latin words in a loud voice for fifteen minutes straight.
Afterward, the priest holds a jewelry box and picked up the two identical black onyx rings, and handed them to the couple. "Groom, put the ring on your wife's finger, and bride you must do the same to your husband," he instructed them.
Corbin put the onyx ring into his bride's fingers and Rebecca did the same to him.
Done...
The priest went to the small table in the corner and poured the bottle of red wine into the two glasses, then gave the glasses to the couple. "Drink the wine... bottoms up..." he ordered.
The couple obeyed and drink the wine.
Next...
The priest's assistant removed the glasses of wine from the couple's hands and put them back on the table.
The priest chanted another set of Latin words that lasted for ten minutes.
After the chanting... the priest looked at Corbin and smiled. "You may kiss the bride," he ordered, signaling that the wedding ceremony was about to end.
Corbin kissed Rebecca's lips for a few seconds.
The priest addressed the crowd. "The wedding ceremony is finished! Congratulation to the newly married couple! Let's welcome them with big applause!" he said.
The crowd erupted into loud cheers that lasted for a few minutes.
Corbin addressed the crowd. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming to our wedding! My wife and I are very much thankful for your precious presence on our wedding day. Let's enjoy this wonderful occasion. We have endless food, wine as well as good music to entertain us the whole night. Let's have a party all night long! Enjoy everyone!" he said.
The crowd erupted into deafening applause followed by lively music.
Some of the guests went into the center and began dancing serenaded by the music while the waiters paraded the wines for everyone to enjoy.
Several guests went to the buffet table and prefer to eat and enjoy the delicious dishes that are specially prepared for the occasion.
The other guest were chatting and laughing at each other's jokes.
Everyone was having a good time, enjoying the occasion, talking merrily with their relatives and friends.
Corbin and Rebecca together with the vampire couple mingled with the guest and introduced the bride to everyone as the newest addition to their clan.
At midnight, the party is already in full swing. The vampires were not sleepy and tired at all, they become more energetic and actively dancing and talking to their friends and relatives. Sylvia informed everyone that fresh blood was served in the private room, everyone can go there and sip the intoxicating drink which is everyone's favorite.
The crowd was super delighted by the announcement.
Hours went by.
Rebecca was already drunk, she had consumed countless glasses of red wine enough to intoxicate her until she can no longer walk properly. "Husband...I'm so tired and sleepy...can we go to our room now and rest?" she said with eyes half-closed.
"Sure darling... I'll take you back to our room now," he said and picked up his drunk wife and carried her effortlessly in his arms. He looked at his parents and gave them a nod.
The vampire couple nods in response, silently telling their son to take care of his wife, while they will take care of the guests.
Corbin exited the venue and walked on the path leading back to the house.
Inside the house, he climbed the stairs, went to his room, and deposited his wife gently on the bed.
She was sound asleep already, snoring lightly.
He removed the shoes from her feet and undressed her, he put the wedding gown on the chair and donned a pajama on his wife's sleeping form.
Done...
He discarded his wedding suit and changed into casual clothes.
He's ready to sleep beside his wife.
He stared at her pretty face for a few minutes, loving her more and more every day.
He released a deep sigh. It will be hard for him to let go of his wife, but he already promised her that she's free to leave three days after the wedding. There's no turning back on his words, they're bound to be separated sooner or later, whether he likes it or not.
No need to prolong the torture.
He planted a loving kiss on her lips, wrapped his arms around his wife, and closed his eyes to sleep.
Half an hour later, Corbin already drifted into a deep slumber.
Meanwhile...
Back in the wedding venue, the party is still in full swing even if it's already 1:00 in the morning.
Sylvia and Zalvo scanned the whole area.
They have instructed the servants to remove the guest who is already dozing off at the table and settled them inside the big tent that was specially prepared for the guest as their sleeping accommodation.
"Corbin and Rebecca's wedding is a big success tonight! Thanks to your hard work and effort, wife!" Zalvo said.
Sylvia smiled brightly. "Corbin's wedding is indeed successful and the guest were having a good time tonight. We make it up for them, hopefully, the success of this event can help them forget the failure of the Awakening Ceremony when we're deceived by that fake impostor! Now that Corbin's wedding is finally over, it's about time to focus back on our main mission in finding the real Laura," she said while sipping her glass of red wine mixed with fresh human blood.
"Yes, it's about time to find Laura again and continue the Awakening Ceremony after we found her!" Zalvo agreed.
"Cheers!" Sylvia raised her glass, her eyes shining with happiness and satisfaction that all her hard works and efforts paid off. The wedding was a big success, everyone that is important to her attended the event!
"Cheers!" Zalvo replied.
The couple smiled appreciatively at each other.
The party continues.
By 4:00 in the morning, the venue was already empty with guests, only the servants remained, in the process of cleaning the whole area.
The vampire couple left the venue and entered the mansion. They proceed to the basement area and retired to their chamber for a much-needed rest.
Hours went by.
Dawn is finally breaking on the horizon.
Early morning comes, the rest of the world is wide awake already yet the vampire couple and the rest of the guest were still in deep slumber in their sleeping quarter.
By 8:00 in the morning.
The newlywed couple was wide awake already.
They smiled at each other.
"Good morning to my gorgeous wife!" Corbin smiled and planted a kiss on his wife's cheeks.
Rebecca grinned. "I fall asleep on my wedding dress last night, didn't I?" she asked, smiling.
"Yeah, sleepyhead. You drink too many glasses of wine and fall asleep in my arms while I carried you back here in our room," he replied and tickled her sides.
"No! Stop it!" Rebecca squealed.
The room was filled with her vibrant laughter.
By the time Corbin finished tickling his wife's side, Rebecca was already in tears due to so much laughing.
Corbin grinned. "What a good way to start our first-day being husband and wife!" he said in amusement.
"Yeah... so what happened last night?" she asked.
"What do you mean? The party? Everyone was having a good time, enjoying the nice music, unlimited food and drinks, and the wonderful presence of one another. It's a perfect occasion!" he replied.
"And what happened to us last night?" she asked.
Corbin grinned. "Nothing... you had fallen asleep already so the honeymoon didn't take place," he said.
"Well...let's do it tonight with a big bang!" she winked seductively at him.
Corbin smirked. "Why wait for tonight? Let's do it now!" he said and reached for her hands.
Rebecca ducked out of his reach, then bolted towards the bathroom and closed the door, laughing hysterically inside.
Corbin left the bed and knocked on the bathroom door. "Darling...open the door...!" he said.
"Why?" she asked.
"Let's take a bath together," he suggested.
"Alright!" Rebecca opened the door and Corbin went inside.
A few minutes later.
The sound of splashing water, loud moaning, and grunting can be heard outside the door.
One hour later.
The couple exited the bathroom in good spirit.
After donning clean clothes on their bodies, they're starving! They left the bedroom and head downstairs, looking for something to eat.
