Half an hour later, Terros was done feeding his chickens. He sits down beside Graven on the wooden bench. "I'm done!" he said.
Graven looked at him. "How about your lady friend? Is she back now?"
"No. She's not back yet," Terros replied worriedly.
"Hmm, if after one month, she's not back yet. We have to find her!" Graven suggested.
"I will find her. Let me go to Laura's place first and erect the barrier so that you and I can have peace of mind," Terros said.
"Wait... let me ask you this... Veronica's friend is a good person or not? Is he a guy or a woman?" asked Graven.
"She's a woman, a thousand years old deity. Did you remember the reason why Veronica is wearing a veil on her face? It's because her two eyes were stolen by the bird, she becomes blind because of that incident and was rescued by the deity, who took pity on her and created a third eye on her forehead so that she can see again. I already told you about this, right?" Terros reminded him.
"Ah, yes of course! I remembered it now. So the deity is kind, she won't do something bad to Veronica whom she already rescued once. I guess, your lady friend must have encountered another mishap again. Hopefully not!" Graven said.
"Anyways, let's worry about Veronica later. For now, Laura's safety is more important. Let's go!" Terros spoke.
"Okay, let's teleport now to the place!" Graven said and holds the old man's arm.
The men vanished from the place.
A minute later.
They appeared inside Graven's study room in the manor.
"Are the servants here - all humans?" Terros inquired.
"The two women are humans but the rest are hybrid, they all know who I am," Graven replied.
"Good!" Terros said.
"Wait here for a few minutes, I'll bring Laura here to meet you," Graven told him.
"Ok," Terros said and lowered himself on the couch.
Graven exited the room and went to find Laura. He found her outside the house, sitting on the swing in the backyard. "Wife!" he called her.
Laura looked at him brightly. "Hubby...!"
Graven went to the swing. "I brought a visitor for you..." he said.
"Who? Rebecca?" she asked excitedly.
"No. Terros is finally here to meet you. Then he will also erect an invisible shield to protect you and everyone in this manor from intruders," Graven answered.
"Okay, let me change my dress for a few minutes, I feel sweaty underneath," Laura said.
"I'll accompany you to our room," Graven spoke.
The couple walked on the path leading back to the house.
After they reached the master's bedroom, Laura went inside the bathroom for some washing and changed into a clean maternity dress.
A few minutes later, she exited the bathroom feeling refresh. "Let's go! I'm excited to meet Grandpa!" she said.
The couple left the master's bedroom going to the study room which was situated at the end of the hallway.
They reached the end of the hallway and Graven pushed the door open, they stepped inside.
Terros rose to his feet and looked at the beautiful woman standing beside Graven. He was mesmerized. Laura's beauty is of another level, goddess-like! That is why the twin brothers and the cursed King want a piece of her. "You must be... Laura?" he said and went to her side.
Laura smiled at the old man. "Nice meeting you, Grandpa! Thank you very much for taking good care of my husband!" she said, feeling grateful for the old man's help in saving her husband.
Terros returned her smile. "Finally, I meet you! You and Graven are a perfect match for each other! I'm excited to see the baby once he comes out to this world!" he enthused.
"Yes, we are too!' Laura responded. "Thank you for coming here, Grandpa. I appreciated it very much!" Laura said.
"Don't mention it! I'll do anything for Graven's family," Terros said. "By the way, are all the servants in the house right now? No one is outside the property?" he asked.
Laura nodded her head. "Yes, they're all here. They're currently resting in the servant quarters, 'coz I give them one hour break every afternoon," she explained.
"Good!" Terros murmured.
The couple looked at each other lovingly.
Terros coughed and looked at Graven. "Son, can you give me a tour now around the manor so that I can finally start what I'm here for..." he said.
"Sure!" Graven answered.
They exited the study room. The men descended the stairs, while Laura went back to the master's bedroom to have a rest.
Graven gave Terros a tour around the manor and introduced him to the servants.
After the tour ended. They stood in the backyard where the garden was located.
"What do you think of the place, old man?" Graven asked.
"Right now, I'm already designing the formation in my mind to create the invisible shield. All the servants in this house will have a unique imprint in the formation, including you, Laura, and me. Anyone who's trying to enter the manor that is not included in the imprint will be considered a threat, therefore the invisible shield will release a weapon to attack the intruder and it will also alert me just in case something like that occurs here," Terros explained.
"Wow! Can you do it, Grandpa? May I know what kind of weapon the invisible shield will use to fight the intruder?" he said curiously.
"Nothing grand. Like for example, all the rats in the house will attack the intruder, tables, chairs, knives will throw themselves at the enemy. The possibility is endless, it entirely depends on how dangerous the enemy is," Terros explained.
"Amazing! I'm blown away by your explanation, old man! I never expected that you can be this good!" Graven said in awe.
Terros smiled. "Well... I'm not that super brilliant when it comes to medicine and poison making, but my true specialty lies in creating formations and invisible shields. I may not be the best in this world in making formations but I learned some incredible tricks through the years," he said.
Graven smiled and gave Terros a thumb up. "Alright, I'll leave you now to do your task. I'll instruct the cook to prepare a delicious feast for you. I'm sure you are tired and hungry after you are done making the formation," he said.
"Good! Please do that because after I'm done creating the invisible shield I'll be hungry as hell!" Terros said with a grin.
"By the way, how many hours it will take you to finish the formation?" Graven asked.
"Give me four to five hours, just my rough estimate. The formation is a bit complex therefore it will take long hours to connect all the dots together..." Terros replied.
"Okay, take your time!" Graven said and left the old man in the garden. He's going to the kitchen to inform the cook on what kind of dishes to prepare for dinner.
Back in the garden.
Terros closed his eyes and vanished instantly from the garden. He begins mapping and orchestrating the complex formation in the air around the manor.
Back inside the manor.
The couple was lying in bed talking to each other.
Laura was resting on Graven's chest looking at the window. "Hubby, how will Grandpa make the formation? I mean the invisible barrier?" she asked in confusion.
Graven pondered for a moment. "I dunno how... All I know is that he is gifted when it comes to that stuff. Grandpa can make invisible shields or barriers but he can never release fire in his hands. Similarly, I can release flames in all parts of my body, yet I can't make formations or invisible barriers. All beings in this world are gifted with different sets of skills and talents. Some are born with powers and skills inherited from their parents, while some trained well through the years before they mastered their skills to perfection," he explained thoroughly.
"Ah... I see..." Laura murmured. "How about our future child, what he or she's going to inherit from us?" she asked.
"If she's is a girl, she will inherit your beauty and my powers. If he is a boy, he will also inherit my good looks and my powers, that's the way it is," he answered.
Laura giggled. "Aww... all our future children will be powerful then?" she asked.
"Yes, definitely!" he responded and pinched her nose.
"I'm glad that our future children will have inborn power so that they can protect themselves, unlike me who is just a mere human. I can't even protect myself. I have to compromise and depend on others to protect myself," she said sadly.
Graven sighed. "Wife, don't be sad anymore. I'm here to protect you now. No need to feel afraid from now on," he assured her.
Laura buried her face in Graven's chest. "The vampire couple will be after me again, right? They won't stop unless they will catch me and marry me to their son," she said.
"Yeah... that is one reason why I brought Grandpa here to help us in doubling the security around the manor so that you and our unborn child can live here in peace away from danger," Graven explained.
"I'm just worried about my family. I'm afraid that the vampire couple will come after them if they can't find me," she expressed her greatest fears.
Graven nods his head in agreement. "You are right! I'm also thinking about your family. I have a suggestion for you, I don't know if you will agree..." he said.
"Let me hear it!" she said.
"Why don't we bring your family here so that you all can live under one roof and you don't have to worry about their safety anymore? What do you think?" he suggested.
Laura's eyes brightened instantly. "Are you sure? You will allow my entire family to live here with us?" she asked excitedly.
"Sure!" Graven said. "Anything that can make you happy, I'll do it!" he said. "The only question is... would they agree to live here?" he said.
"I'll convince them!" Laura said in a jubilant voice.
