Menedelia looked at Lord Tony. "The last time I check your daughter, I was able to see the vision of her future that shows the tragedy that was about to happen..."
"I'm back!" Nini said, coming into the living room carrying a platter filled with delicious snacks.
Menedelia's speech was interrupted by Nini's return.
Tony and Zero looked at each other.
"Son, can you bring Nini to the garden for a moment? We want to talk with Granny privately," Tony said.
"Yes, my lord!" Zero said and looked at his wife-to-be. "Let's go to the garden for a moment..." he said and holds Nini's arm gently.
"Wait...I still want to talk with Granny!" Nini protested.
"Later, you will have time to talk to her before she goes home," Zero assured her.
"Fine!" Nini replied and walked alongside Zero towards the door.
Menedelia's eyes followed the couple exiting through the door. A smile appeared on her lips. "They looked good together. They're a lovely couple!" she muses.
Tony cleared his throat. "Granny... let's go back to the topic..." he said, calling her attention back to their conversation.
"Sorry, my lord." Menedelia returned her gaze to the couple and looked at Tony. "Ah, my lord...the vision that I saw in Nini's future is horrifying. She will be the death of the entire Helix Vanguard Clan that is living in this vast property..." she continued.
Tony and Evelyn looked at each other worriedly. Their faces filled with horror.
"Granny, can you please do something to change Nini's future? Is there anything that can be done to prevent the vision from happening?" Evelyn pleaded.
"Yes, that is also my question to you, Granny!" Tony joined with his wife's plea.
Menedelia took a deep breath. "Your daughter grow up at the enemy's camp. I have no idea what is their plan for her and what have they done to her that can make her capable of killing her loved ones in the future."
"Is there a way to know when that tragedy will occur?" Tony asked. "So that we can prevent it from happening..." he added.
Menedelia shook her head. "I have no idea. The only thing I see is the vision, a glimpse of Nini's future. But I didn't' see the exact time when the massacre will occur. And that is the most dangerous thing of all because death can strike your family anytime as long your daughter is in close contact with you."
The expression on Evelyn's face was filled with sadness and grief. "My daughter has just come back to us! It's not right to separate her from us. After the wedding, she and Zero will live with us here in the manor. That is our plan for her!" she insisted.
Menedelia shook her head. "My Lady, sorry to say this...but that is not a good idea. It's dangerous for your whole family to allow Nini to live with you under the same roof. It will be easy for her to finish you all!" she warned her gravely.
Evelyn's eyes shimmered with tears while looking at her husband.
Tony released a deep sigh. "Is there any other way to avoid the tragedy or prevent it from happening? What can you suggest to us, Granny?"
Menedelia stared at Evelyn's teary-eyed face. What she can see now in front of her is a tear-stricken mother who can't afford to part with her beloved daughter that she only recently reunited with after twenty years of separation. She took a deep breath. "The only way to prevent the tragedy from happening is to put Nini in a safe place far away from her family. In a secured place that she can't leave and get out. I suggest that you will do it as soon as possible because we will never know when the enemy will strike," she suggested.
The couple looked at each other, communicating with their eyes.
Evelyn looked at Menedelia. "Granny, is there a possibility that you are just mistaken with your vision?" she said, her voice mixed with doubt and hope.
Menedelia breathed deeply. "My prophecy is always accurate..."
"If you are telling the truth, then can we invite you to visit this place again?" Evelyn asked.
"Sure! Anytime," Menedelia said.
Tony looked at the old woman in the eyes. "Good! We are inviting five oracles to come and visit our place so that they can also take a look at Nini's mind," he said.
A frown appeared on Menedelia's brows, then slowly, she realized what the lord was planning. "Ah, I get it! You want to have a second opinion from other oracles, am I right?"
"Yeah. Together with the five oracles, we want to know if they can also see the vision that you see in my daughter. Are you willing to return here and find out if the other oracle has the same vision as you?" Tony said.
Menedelia smiled. "Sure! I'm also interested to know what they will see in Nini's future! Just tell Zero to inform me of the day of the gathering. I'll come anytime," she said.
"Good!"Tony spoke. He rubbed his chin with his finger pondering about something. "Ah, Granny. Do you have an idea who is the one responsible for abducting our baby girl twenty years ago? You didn't see the face of the enemy in the vision?" he inquired.
Menedelia stared at the ceiling for a moment, trying to recall the vision. Unfortunately, she can't see the enemy's face there. "I'm sorry. In the vision, it's only Nini that I see committing the heinous crime, no other person in there..." she replied.
The couple looked at each other for a few seconds.
"Did you offended someone, like some kind of a powerful entity? Do you have enemies in the past?" Can you remember anything?" Menedelia asked.
The couple shook their heads.
Tony spoke, "Well... my family has a lot of enemies in the past, but that was a long time ago. We have defeated the enemies, and that is why we enjoyed peace right now living among humans. Our shapeshifters clan are pro-humans. The enemy of humans is also our enemy. The human leaders in the capital are our allies. We are united with the common goal to keep the capital and its inhabitants safe from dangerous beings who tries to harm its peace-loving citizen. So yeah...we have created countless enemies a long time ago. To name all the enemies who died in our hands would be impossible..."
"I see..." Menedelia murmured. "How about personal grudges? I mean... did you make an enemy out of someone? Have you offended anyone in the past?" she probed deeper.
Tony shook his head. "My family made a lot of enemies in the past. But I can't remember their faces anymore," he repeated.
Evelyn was silent the whole time.
Menedelia stared at the lady's face. "How about you, my lady?" she questioned her.
Evelyn raised her head and looked at the psychic in the eyes. "I don't remember if I offended anyone in the past..." she said.
Menedelia took a deep breath. "As you can see, this enemy kidnapped a baby girl and the nanny and imprisoned them inside the room for twenty years. This enemy is trying to torture you mentally and emotionally for twenty years. That enemy is not satisfied with the kidnapping. That person finally released the baby and returned her to her family when she's capable enough to kill them. The hatred that the enemy is hiding inside his or her heart can only be extinguished by the death of your clan. There is too much rage and hatred behind the motives. Chances are, you guys offended someone very badly in the past," she concluded her speech.
The couple fell into deep silence for a few minutes.
Menedelia broke the silence. "My Lord, My Lady...you haven't told Nini about my vision yet?" she asked.
Tony shook his head. "We plan to tell her after the wedding ceremony, that would take place next month, on the first week," he replied.
"I see... if you can find an oracle that can present a solution to Nini's problem then that would be good. I like your bubbly daughter, I want to help her, but my power is limited. I'm sorry about that..." Menedelia apologized.
"No need to apologize," Evelyn said.
"Much better if you can find an oracle that can check Nini's body essence as well. I want to know if her body was tampered with during her captivity," Menedelia suggested.
"Yes, we will also include that during the meeting. I want to finish consulting the other oracle before the month end arrives. One day from now, the five famous oracles of the land will gather here in my place so that we can gain more insight and wisdom from them regarding Nini's future," Tony said.
Menedelia smiled. "I'm looking forward to hearing the opinion of others," she said confidently.
"Thank you for coming here, Granny! We appreciate it very much. Please accept our little token of appreciation for your time," Tony said. He waved his hand, a medium-sized wooden box the size of a shoebox appeared on the center table.
The couple rose to their feet.
"Granny, we will retire upstairs so that you and Nini can have a chitchat. Our daughter adores you!" Evelyn said. "Enjoy your snack. Zero will accompany you back to your home later," she said.
"Thank you for the gift... My Lord, My Lady!" Menedelia bowed her head.
The couple left the living room and walked towards the grand staircase.
Menedelia's gaze followed the couple until they disappeared at the top of the stairs.
She looked at the wooden box and took a peek inside. Her eyes widened in shock and happiness. Oh my! The box was filled with shining gold coins! The couple is indeed generous! She's looking forward to offering her services to them. She waved her hand at the box, making it vanished from her sight.
After seeing Evelyn again, she made up her mind to help the couple, even though the woman can no longer remember her.
She looked at the colorful cakes arranged appetizingly on the platter, she picked up one and took a bite. "Wow! So yummy, so creamy!" she raved and began eating her snack.
Zero and Nini returned from the garden and joined Menedelia in the living room.
Nini sat beside Menedelia. "Granny, do you like the rice cakes?" she asked.
Menedelia nods her head. "Yup. Thanks, dear. They're so delicious!" she replied.
"Eat everything on the platter, Granny. It's all yours!" Nini said, she wore a pleasant smile on her face.
"Can I bring some for my pregnant companion waiting for me in the house?" Menedelia requested.
"Sure!" Nini replied. There are still enough rice cakes in the kitchen. I'll inform the servant to pack some for you before you go home," she said.
"Thank you, Nini. You're such a good child!" Menedelia said.
The trio engaged in a lively conversation that lasted for two hours.
Afterward, Menedelia left the manor after telling Zero that she's capable of going home on her own. She visited the market to buy some stuff before going home.
