Chapter 30
TL-Mechatronic
“Wh-What!”
This is not something you say to people if you don’t want them to have expectations.
Of course, she knows it’s meaningless, he refers to Luciel as if she was a younger sister. But, somehow that made it even worse.
Kizef turned his face to walk forward and Luciel’s small heart ran aimlessly at his profile.
“Kizef, you don’t have a good personality.”
Luciel puffed up both cheeks with a dissatisfied tone of voice. He glanced back at Luciel who had fiercier eyes than before.
He chuckled.
Did you think I would get stabbed if you say I have a bad personality?’
“Stop squealing like a chick, let’s go.”
Luciel doesn’t know why everyone calls her a chick, but she knows very well that Kizef was pretending to be an adult when he’s only four years older.
As they were returning to the parlor, a group of male students glanced at Kizef and Luciel. It wasn’t gossip and whispering, it was an outright unpleasant gaze. Their untidy attire, as well as their appearance gave them a bad look.
‘What is this?’
The female students were favorable, while the male students were not. The stinging glances at Kizef was mixed with discrimination towards someone who was different from themselves.
And it was also a kind of gaze that Luciel knew well. Because there were far more people who didn’t think of a Crystal Fairy as the same human being.
She couldn’t pinpoint it exactly, but Luciel felt uncomfortable.
Soon, the gang of male students across the other side came forward. Among them, the face of a familiar young boy caught my eye. Dark skin, long gray hair, green eyes as slender as snakes, and a much larger frame than his peers.
Maximus von Cavill.
He was the next head of Marquis Cavill, Luciel’s exhusband before returning, and a maniac crazy about alcohol and gambling.
Luciel unknowingly clenched her fists.
“Hiccup, even if I lose everything at the gambling board, I don’t have to worry. Come here, sweetie! You should drink, too.’
If you behave calmly, I’ll even take you for a walk.’
While others were obsessed with her jewelry itself, Maximus teased Luciel, treating her like a toy or a pet. Although she is younger now than she was then, Luciel was reminded of the dark past and her body trembled.
…… Was he in the same academy as Kizef?’
It was easy to deal with him because Maximus had a more temperamental and simple personality than his father, but she could do nothing when he was tormenting her.
“Hey, devil child!”
Maximus threw a rude remark trying to pick a fight with Kizef. Even giggling with a stuffy nose was the same as in the past. As Kizef ignored them and continued walking, something flew from behind.
Maximus had the other children throw small stones. It passed by, but the next stone flew again. It almost hit Luciel in the head. Fortunately, it only passed by, but in shock, a shuddering sound came out of her. At that moment, Kizef turned around, wrapping the child in his arms.
“What are you doing?”
As his forehead twisted, a dark aura rushed around him.
Sususu!
Soon after, a black sphere of darkness was created in Kizef’s hand. It was Dark Bolt.
“Hey, wh-why are you doing this? We were joking around….”
A child named Norma mumbled with a contemplative face, and Luciel was taken aback.
“So fast! And without casting or a magic circle?’
Put! Pofpofpof!
“Aww!”
A black sphere flew in front of the children in an instant and hit the floor. Not one, but several.
Other children rushed back and forth or wandered around without time to implement magic and then stepped back. Maximus shuddered as he looked at the children.
“Pathetic kids.”
Maximus, wheezing, pointed the scabbard he had on his back to where Kizef was.
“…Are you afraid I’ll be scared by magic? Bring it on”
Shreung!
Maximus took out a real sword, not a wooden sword.
“I’ll punish you for your evil, black magic.”
Maximus raised his sword and ran towards Kizet, shouting fiercely.
Paah!
Kizef dodged the attack and deflected the sword with magic.
As the sword flew away, Maximus’ expression contorted even more, and he grabbed Kizef by the neck, pushing him with force.
Kizef’s body slammed against the wall.
“Kizef!”
Luciel, who was stamping her feet, bit her lips tightly, If she had known how to do magic she would have helped him…but, it seemed that she could block Maximus’s eyes or buy time with her mana drops. Luciel hid from a distance, took a seat, and started collecting mana.
Meanwhile, Maximus and Kizef were fighting back and forth. However, it was too much for the skinny Kizef to withstand Maximus’s rugged stature.
He laughed as he climbed onto Kizef’s stomach.
“Now. Do you think I’m a pushover?”
Maximus glared at Kizef, who rolled his mouth and looked at him with a calm face.
“Are you ignoring me?”
It was when Maximus, who had risen his rage to the top, was about to raise his fist. Blue drops from somewhere obscured his vision.
“Wh-what? This!”
Kizef knocked Maximus down in the gap. Then he clapped his lips.
“Fly!”
In an instant, Maximus’ body was lifted into the air.
“Huh? huh?! What’s this! Damn it.”
Maximus, unable to do this or that in the air, ended up floundering in trouble.
“Ah! Damn bastard! I-I have a phobia of heights! L-Let me down!”
The terrified voice of Maximus echoed throughout the area as his body rose little by little. Maximus’s hair, as he twisted around, was in a mess.
After dealing with Maximus, Kizef looked around and found Luciel. She ran like a baby bird and looked up at him.
“I’m here. I’m okay.”
“… The mana drops earlier, did you do it?”
“Yes.”
As Luciel nodded her head, Kizef said.
“It helped.”
Without it, there would have been no time to trigger the magic. She seemed to have trained her mana quite a bit at a young age.
“Did you train your mana?”
“Yes. But I can’t do magic. Not yet…”
“I see.”
Luciel couldn’t believe it when she saw it with her eyes.
‘How can Kizef use such strong magic?’
Seeing what Maximus was going through, I laughed out loud thinking it was a good lesson. His body continued to fly according to Kizef’s finger movements, and all the students watched Maximus floating next to the building.
Luciel wanted to learn magic as soon as possible
After beating Maximus like that and leaving him behind they were on the way to the Duke, Luciel said.
“Kizef, I actually didn’t get stoned earlier…”
He paused his steps and said.
“I know.”
Did you know? And you still attack them?
“…If it had hit you, I wouldn’t have finished it with only that.”
Luciel felt the warmth of Kizef, who said it casually
“By the way… … you.”
“Yes?”
“Am I not like a brother?”
“That’s right.”
“Then call me brother.”
“……Yes.”
I answered by chance, but will I ever use it in the future? After the contract is over, it doesn’t seem like we’ll see each other often…but, I was still worried to see Maximus around. Of course, Kisef was much stronger, but, just because he’s strong on the outside doesn’t mean he’s strong at heart…
Luciel walked away, waving his hand again and again vowing to protect him. They quickly arrived at the parlor.
“The sponsorship will be finalized through the secretary. And I want to meet the professor in charge of Kizef.”
“Oh, yes! It will be done. Every time…..thank you so much for your efforts for the development of the Academy. The professor in charge is on standby. I’ll bring him in right away.”
As the principal happily left, the professor in charge, who was waiting outside the door, was instructed to go inside. The words from the professor in charge went right through the Duke’s ear, who was pleased with the idea of making Luciel his daughter
“Yo-Young Master Kizef is so good that he knows all the academic courses ahead of time. Especially when it comes to dark magic and swordsmanship…he’s superior to the Academy’s professors. I am sorry, but there is nothing more to teach the Young Lord.”
“There is nothing more to teach in the academy?”
The Duke raised his eyebrows.
“…Your son is beyond the realm of genius.”
Kizef has been like that since he was a child. There was a time when he was so outstanding that he made the teacher run away. Everyone said the same thing, that he was an unbearable genius child.
But he didn’t expect to hear that from Polyce, the empire’s No. 1 academy.
In fact, what he was most looking forward to at the academy was Kizef’s social experience. Although Bellstein is closed off, in the end, people were supposed to live in relationships with others.
In the past, Kizef was extremely reluctant to other people, and there was a time when he didn’t even want the servants to touch his body. So he was sent to the academy on purpose.
“Do you know anything about Kizef’s friendship?”
At that question, the professor’s face darkened even more.
“I understand that he always goes around alone.”
“That’s just like him. Thank you for your honest remarks.”
After finishing his words, the professor in charge shrugged even more. He was afraid that if he spoke badly about Kizef’s academy life, the sponsorship would be halted and he would hear an earful of the principal’s rage.
“The promised sponsorship will proceed as is, and Kizef’s studies will be maintained for the time being.” In other words, it was like saying that he could quit at any time afterwards. The Duke left the principal’s office and headed for the parlor where the children were waiting.
He was afraid that the principal might follow, so he strode quicker. That’s why he tends to leave most of the things to Ellington. Inwardly, he felt a great sense of fatigue from Ellington’s absence. He wanted to say something as he pulled out the communicator right away, but decided to exercise his patience. Because, on the way to the drawing room, he ran across Kizef and Luciel, who were returning hand in hand and side by side.
‘Look at these guys.’
Previously, a cold wind blew between the two, but now it’s completely different.
“You seem to have gotten along well while I was away.”
The Duke looked down at the hands of the two children and raised the corners of his mouth.
