Lu Xun thought she had consented. Feeling relaxed, he immediately followed up with, “I know they had just opened up a new restaurant over at Mount Tingxi that everyone is raving about. Hang on. Let me make the reservation right now.”
As he spoke, he had already pulled out his cellphone, called up the place, and made the reservation.
His execution was so smooth and fast that it seemed he had this planned all along.
Lin Yiyi sat back down, picked up a glass, and took a sip of water.
Now that the reservation had been made, Lu Xun couldn’t contain his excitement. “It is always difficult to make reservations at this restaurant. We are so lucky today that they still have seats available.
“Let me tell you. Their most famous dishes are their seafood. They are freshly caught daily. The restaurant is located right next to the ocean. Many of the fishermen will provide their haul directly to the restaurant and they’d be cooked immediately. Man, that taste…”
When it came to food, Lu Xun started rambling all over again.
Lin Yiyi, “……”
Yup, it was about food all along… Why was she not surprised?
They left a little after 4 PM that afternoon.
It’d be almost 6 PM by the time they got up the mountain. And, 6 PM was the perfect time for dinner.
The reason that Lu Xun had picked Mount Tingxi was because they were known for the scenery and that many couples would pick this location for camping and watching the sunrise.
A location that was popular with couples must have good ambience.
In fact, when Lin Yiyi looked it up online, Mount Tingxi was among one of the top sightseeing locations in this city.
Except that it was quite a luxury to go all the way there just for a meal. Round trip there would take three to four hours.
Luckily, they drove there in their own car. Otherwise, her poor old back…
Speaking of, this seemed to be the first time the two of them went out to dinner alone.
Becoming aware of that, the atmosphere had suddenly become quite curious.
The only problem was, the weather wasn’t all that great today.
When they started out from the city, it was still sunny. But then it turned cloudy when they were just half way there.
“Look at this weather… do you think it is going to rain?” The sky seemed grey through the car window. Looking at the dark cloud that came out of nowhere, Lin Yiyi asked, worried.
“I don’t think so.”
It wasn’t everyday that he took her out to dinner. Hopefully he’d have better luck than that!
Low and behold, as soon as he finished talking, a loud thunder ensued as though proving him wrong purposefully. The timing couldn’t have been any better.
Lin Yiyi turned her head and gave Lu Xun a complicated look. “No, huh?”
Lu Xun, “……”
Welp. That was a little bit awkward.
By now, they were already on Panshan Highway. It’d be a hassle to turn around at this point.
Not to mention that they were almost to their destination. What a waste to turn around now before they’ve had the food? Plus, it wasn’t easy for him to summon up enough courage to ask her out. The opportunity may never present itself again.
Lu Xun looked a little blue.
Nevertheless, heaven seemed to have something against him. It started to rain after the thunder.
Looking at his pitiful look, Lin Yiyi had no heart to tell him that she did take a look at the weather condition when she looked up Mount Tingxi online earlier…
The typhoon wouldn’t be hitting their town directly tonight, but it would, nonetheless, have an effect on their weather. Which was why it started to get windy and rainy.
In addition, this rain would not be stopping any time soon. It would probably rain continuously for the next two days.
Coming to have dinner on a typhoon day…
That was certainly an experience that she never had before!
When the two arrived at the restaurant, they noticed that the restaurant was quite empty.
Apparently, they were the only patrons today.
The server was extremely enthusiastic. “As the two of you are our special guests today, you can pick any of the private rooms that you like.”
Lin Yiyi, “……”
Ai, what should she do if she really wanted to bust out laughing?
Lu Xun, “……”
He really didn’t feel like talking right now!
Had he known that a typhoon would be passing them by so closely, he’d never have suggested going to have dinner on a mountain.
That being said, what’s with these unconscientious servers at this restaurant? Shouldn’t they have kindly let him know in advance that there was a typhoon tonight?!
