Chapter 177 – We don’t need your fatherly love (3)

Zhang Xiying, who had the intention to be the go-between person, quickly tugged at Meng Yan’s sleeve. She had noticed the naked hostility from this boy a long time ago, so she was much more apt at handling this situation compared to Meng Yan.

The only issue was that Meng Yan had too much hope when it came to his two children. Naturally, the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. Nevertheless, even she hadn’t expected that Meng Yuran would have point blank said what he had said.

Yet, that was just the beginning of it all.

Meng Yuran had already stood up with his sister after Meng Yan’s words. Lowering his head, he looked down at the man who was still sitting down.

Looking at that face that somewhat resembled his own, he said the most words since he had arrived there. “Where were you when I was born? Where were you when my sister was born? You don’t remember my sister and my birthdays. You didn’t remember your anniversary with Mom in the past. You were never home on any holidays or new year. We can count the number of days my sister and I would see you out of the 365 days in a year. Did you tell us that you and Mom are getting a divorce? No, all you did was send your assistant to come over and pick up your clothes for you. Do not ever say you are our father again and do not come looking for us.”

He sneered. “We don’t need your fatherly love.”

Having said that and before Meng Yan could respond, Meng Yuran was already walking out the door with his sister in tow.

Meng Yan and Zhang Xiying just watched the two walk away. Neither one of them were able to summon up the strength to stop them.

The young man’s personality was too strong and too intense.

He was intimidating!

At the same time, Lu Xun, who was halfway up the mountain by following the GPS, was finally able to get his call through to them.

“This place is so remote that I barely have any signals! Where are you two?”

He was so angry that he was about to toss his cellphone aside!

Meng Yuran walked out with Meng Shanshan without looking back.

Luckily, he had called that Lu guy early that morning to have him go pick them up. Otherwise, they’d have to wait for a while even if they used the ride-sharing app after having walked out like that.

Walking down the path that they took on their way there with his sister in tow, Meng Yuran pulled out his cellphone and made a call.

It was the same as Lu Xun’s end. The signal was weak in this area and came in and out. By the time he was able to connect with Lu Xun, the two of them had already walked for one kilometer.

Meng Shanshan felt that she had never walked so much in her entire life. She felt that her feet and legs ached. Her entire body ached, and she refused to walk anymore. “Big Brother, let’s have Mommy come and pick us up.”

She could at least tell that her brother didn’t like Daddy much and for sure would not turn around. Now their mother was their only savior.

“You sit here for a while. Someone will be here to pick us up shortly.”

Meng Yuran had her sit on a slate on the side of the road. There was no way he would call their mother. Same as what he had said yesterday. He did not want her to be worried.

After careful consideration, he trusted the Lu guy the most. Even though he didn’t like him much normally, Lu Xun seemed pretty trustworthy at times like these.

By the time Lu Xun found the two of them, they were waiting next to the freeway. One was sitting on the ground with her head resting on her palm. The other was standing there, looking bored. Both of them were still young and had their backpacks on them. They looked very adorable like this.

He pulled his car over and already looked like his heart was aching when he walked over to Meng Shanshan. “Your dad let the two of you walk out like that? It’s so dangerous out here with all the cars around!”

Meng Yuran rolled his eyes.

This road only led to high-end mansions. Many of the owners bought them for investment purposes and very few lived here. They couldn’t even see anyone else around here, let alone any cars.
