Chapter 27 - 27: Cruel Doctor

Milleth looked at Reif with a pitiful and desperate look on her face. She was desperately trying to cling to her only hope remaining that is not actually her hope

She sees Reif as a naive and innocent kid that is easy to deceive. Milleth thought that Reif will pity her and she'll stop Rhash from killing her

However, there is one thing that she doesn't know and that is Rhash's importance to Reif

Even if Rhash were to say that fire is cold or he was ordered by Reif to do the most dangerous thing in the world, this naive and innocent kid would still believe and obey Rhash

To Reif, Rhash's order was even more powerful than an Imperial Edict

Seeing how unstable his big brother's mood was, Reif decided to obey him as soon as possible

Maybe, when Milleth died, Rhash would finally calm down. Thus, without hesitation, Reif sent a beam of energy straight to Milleth's head, poking a gruesome and gaping hole in it

Just like Reif expected, Rhash did calm down. He even smiled as if Reif killing Milleth is the most wonderful thing in the world

Reif finally got revenge on one of the people that hurts him in the original timeline. How can this not make Rhash happy?

However, Milleth's death also causes Rhash's body to relax. The adrenaline rush he had died down

The injuries from both the giant metal skin beetle and Milleth's ambush took a toll on his body and mind

Even if Rhash healed himself using other people's life force, it's not like it was without consequence

Not to mention, Rhash also used up a lot of life force summoning the bats that dissipated since their summoner is now losing consciousness

No matter what, outside power is still outside power. Rhash's body quality is strong compared to normal humans but it was still lacking in quality. It can't handle getting severe injuries and healing in a short time span

This might not be enough to put Rhash's life in danger but it would still exhaust him

Thus, after everything was settled, Rhash's body forced him to pass out. If not for Reif catching him, he would surely fall face first into the ground

"Big Brother!" Reif called out worriedly. If not for Rhash's stable life force and only weakened aura, he might have cried already

Even then, Reif still panics since the most important person in his life is in this state

This caused him to ignore every other thing whether it be Milleth, the other gangsters, or the giant metal skin beetle that they hunted

Reif holds Rhash in his arm as the effects of gravity around him lessened. His body became lighter than usual and his speed also received a huge increase

Reif traveled the forest to exit it while evading all the other monsters he had encountered

Despite Rhash's stable aura, Reif still wants him to be checked by a doctor as soon as possible

A human figure flashed in the forest, swiftly evading any obstacle and monsters that he encountered

It didn't take that long before Reif came out from the forest with Rhash in his arms. He didn't even bother hiring a carriage as he felt that it was too slow

Reif traveled on foot while carrying a person in his hand but he didn't utter even one word of complaint

He was focused on returning back to the City to get his big brother checked and treated

When Reif returned, he immediately went to find a doctor. Too bad that after seeing his young appearance, the doctor only showed disdain towards him

"Scram, I don't have time to do charity work for you!" The doctor ruthlessly replied to Reif's request for treatment. That makes him angry but his big brother is more important

"I will pay! I have the money!" Reif said out of panic while trying to find his own pouch of coins

Thanks to Rhash's plan, they don't store all of their money in one place or in their backpack

They have separate pouches to store some emergency coins in case they would need to abandon their backpack

Due to how much Reif is worried, he didn't bother taking their backpacks with him

Thus, he can only rely on the coins he has with him

However, to Reif's despair, his pouch wasn't with him. He doesn't have even at least 1 bronze coin with him!

Seeing that, the doctor felt even more disdainful. He is a person that is greedy and only works for money. He definitely won't treat any penniless kid

"Get out of my clinic now!" The doctor roared, attracting the attention of the other people inside causing them to gossip with each other

Reif's face paled at that before he remembered something

"No w-wait! I have money!" Reif insisted and he searched for Rhash's coin pouch. But to his despair, Rhash doesn't have it in him too

"W-why isn't it here?" Reif muttered before he remembered something. While he was traveling at his peak speed, he seems to recall that something fell

At that time, he didn't bother checking it. He doesn't have the mental capacity to care for other things

But now, he realized that it was a great mistake. The thing that fell might have been his and Rhash's coin pouch

Why is he so stupid? Why did he even abandon all of their money? Rhash exerted a lot of effort to earn those!

Now, all of Rhash's was gone just like that

"Kid, you better go away now or I won't become gentle anymore" the doctor threatened and the others supported him

"Yeah, if you don't have money then give way to those who have!"

"It's not only you that has a problem"

"Don't be selfish and delay our own treatment!"

Reif doesn't care about the cruel words these people were spouting. He is already completely used to it

In his more than 15 years of living or more like surviving in this world, Reif received cruel words countless times already

However, what he can't accept was Rhahs being unable to receive treatment because of his own stupidity

Reif can't let that happen and he immediately went on his knees. He threw all of his dignity in the air as he heavily slammed his head into the ground causing his forehead to bleed

"Please! Please, at least check my big brother! I promise to pay you five, no even a hundred times for the treatment in the future!" Reif desperately begged but the doctor doesn't care about him nor his circumstances

Just like what the doctor said earlier, he wouldn't treat Reif gently anymore. As a result, a magic circle appeared in his palm that sent gusts of winds

If it was only Reif, he doesn't care if he was hit by the doctor's magic as long as he would heal Rhash

However, Rhash is also in the range of that magic and that resulted in the release of Reif's fury

Reif stood in front of Rhash that was on the ground before waving his hand. The gusts of winds that can injure humans were immediately dispelled by his power

A gravitational field even spread with him as the center. All the people in the shop felt their bodies getting heavier than before

Some of those that already have injuries had their wounds worsened thanks to the strong gravitational pool

"W-what are you doing?! Do you want to kill someone inside the city? Do you want to be imprisoned?!" The doctor asked savagely

He can't believe that he was being suppressed by a fifteen something year old kid. It felt like he was slapped in the face countless times

Reif really did have a desire to kill the doctor for his cruelty. It doesn't matter if it was him that needed the treatment but that was not the case!

It was his Big Brother that needs it. As Rhash already gave some instructions to Reif on what he can and cannot do inside a city where laws were protected, at least at the surface and to the strong, he knew that he cannot blindly attack or kill anyone

If he did, he would surely be sent to prison. If that happens, how can Reif help his big brother?

Reif knew of this fact but this just makes him angrier. His mood was extremely unstable due to his vast anger with no way to vent out

As a result, something that Reif hasn't experienced for long happened again. He can feel a surge of terrifying power inside him was gushing out

It filled every nook and cranny of his body. However, even his body can't hold such an amount of power and that causes it to leak out

The air around Reif trembled and some crimson-colored lightning of energies even flashed in his body from time to time

Reif was trying his best to hold back. His power that is akin to a ticking time bomb can't erupt now, or else, severe consequences will follow
