Chapter 65 - 64

If there is something that Reif would never do, that would be leaving his big brother in danger. He would rather lose his life than let Rhash get hurt

Rhash is his only light in this world. The only person that treated him right. The one that made him feel what love is

Life is meaningless for Reif without his only light in this world clouded with darkness. How could Reif possibly leave him here?

"Big brother, I am all right. I will take care of this" Reif said in a reassuring tone

However, Rhash's tears flowed down like a raging waterfall. His head shook violently as he grabs the fabric of Reif's clothes

"N-no! You don't understand, I am no match for him! You can't defeat him!"

Since the two have roughly the same level of power and Rhash is no match for Nath, Reif would only be sending himself to death if he were to fight

Reif uses his fingers to wipe the precious tears off his beloved as he smiled reassuringly. "It really is fine" 

Despite Rhash's insistence, Reif is still set on putting his big brother in a safe place first

"Little spider, I know that you are not dead yet. Take big brother away from here" Reif said while looking in the direction where Khaknur was sent flying

From the distance, Khaknur's bloody body can be seen. People would mistake him as dead but after hearing Reif's words, his motionless body made some movement

It was like something was coming out from him which looks really creepy

After some time, a spider leg came out from Khaknur's human head. The leg cuts through his body as if it was mere tofu

What came out from Khaknur's human head was a smaller version of himself

As Khaknur loved his life greatly, he took several measures to keep himself alive. The body that he normally showed is actually just a body and flesh that he created with magic 

His real body was smaller than that but since enemies would think that he was dead if the created body is dead, he was always inside it

One must not underestimate Khaknur's survivability!

With fast movements, Khaknur carried Rhash away from here. It was a good thing that Reif would let him flee although it was only because of Rhash

"W-wait! No! I can't leave him here!" Rhash said out of despair. Reif is also the only person that treated him like how a person should be treated, how could he let him die?

Unfortunately, all of his energy was already spent. He can't resist Khaknur's power 

"Big brother wait for me" Reif said with a smile before he turned his head to Nath. The warm expression from his face instantly vanishes and was replaced by a deep sense of coldness

The only thing that filled his heart right now was the desire to kill. Who is this guy to dare hurt his beloved? Reif would never forgive him!

"So it was you" Nath said coldly. The boiling of his blood made him a hundred percent sure that Reif is his nemesis. The only one that can threaten him and the number one person he should kill

"Detestable" Reif muttered and his dark eyes turned even darker. He didn't move from his current position but in the next second, Nath's eyes trembled

The Paladin can feel danger arriving at him and he quickly moved his head to the side. He was just in time to dodge a fatal attack

Some strands of his hair got cut by that invisible attack that flew in a straight line and smashed everything in its way

Gravity magic... it was an invisible attack and the only way to know that you are being attacked by it was to sense the movement of mana

Nath's heart palpitated. That was really dangerous. If he was hit, his head might have exploded like a watermelon already

"How dare you!" Nath raged and his gentle facade breaking. He never thought that the first round would end up as his defeat

He can't believe that someone as special as him would be threatened by a mere mortal

This is unacceptable!

Nath wields his holy sword again. Since God said he should kill Reif then he must do it

In a flash, Nath charged at Reif. His speed was originally extremely fast yet when he was a step away from Reif, his sword met a strong resistance

It was like there is an impenetrable wall in front of him that he simply can't pierce through 

One won't know how annoying gravity magic is as long as they haven't experienced it themselves. It not only has great destructive power, but it can also provide some support

Reif's weaker in magic that is not destructive but gravity magic still helps him greatly to fill the holes of weakness

"How could this be!" Nath exclaimed in shock. His holy sword should have the ability to diminish the power of his opponent no matter how strong they are

However, why is it completely ineffective against Reif? This gravity wall was not weakening at all no matter how hard Nath tried

A nemesis... Reif is really his nemesis that he should kill no matter what

"You dare to hurt my big brother, you deserve to die" Reif said coldly as his fist went to punch Nath

The Paladin tried to dodge but a heavy pressure bore down on him. Without a choice, he can only block using his sword 

Even then, great pressure was sent into his arms and he was thrown away by the impact

Nath was still trying to regain his balance when the ground already shook. Pieces and pieces of earth floated in the air before they condensed

The pieces of ground that were as big as houses were condensed into a single sword. One can only imagine how dense these swords were

The swords should have been heavy but they were not affected by gravity at all, making them easy to control

The swords as if they have eyes of their own traveled in the air to chase Nath that can only use his sword again

Bang! Bang! Bang!

One sword after another exploded into pieces due to the impact brought by Nath's sword

He was put in a passive state as defending himself against the swords weren't easy

These swords were originally large blocks of ground but they were condensed into small swords

Not to mention, the swords were even moving at a fast speed since they are not affected by gravity 

The impact was really great and it even resulted in defeaning sounds

If Rhash were present he would surely be shocked. He thought that Reif was roughly as strong as him. What is this? Why is Reif's power not as strong as him? How could he overpower Nath?

The murderous intent inside Reif's heart still hasn't diminished even in the slightest as he raised his hand in the air

A large crimson magic circle appeared in the sky and in the next second, it rained down crimson balls of light

The crimson color spread in the area and it looks as if it rained crimson-colored rain. However, this rain was not only different in color

As soon as the droplets landed on the ground, an explosion would soon follow

Every drop would explode as soon as they made physical contact with anything. The sound it resulted in was extremely defeaning

It could burst the eardrums of normal people. Not to mention, the sound was just the tip of the iceberg

Smokes and rubbles were sent flying everywhere but they were still overpowered by the light coming from the thousands of small explosions that resulted in a big one

A crimson mushroom cloud rose into the skies as once again, a large area in the woods were exterminated 

The resulting damage was even larger than what Rhash and Khaknur did combined

The scale of damage was simply too high since Reif's power is really for pure destruction 

Reif's cold eyes scanned the area and soon, he saw a sorry figure running away from the area of explosion

That sorry figure was precisely Nath. Burnt marks can be seen all over his bloody body

His once respectful looking self was completely destroyed. He now only looks like someone that is in dire need of help

His aura also weakened greatly. He cannot believe that his nemesis is already this far ahead of him

Well, it wasn't that much of a surprise. In the original timeline, Reif is always stronger compared to Nath

The only reason why he lose was because Nath has a lot of allies. The son of god literally almost have every expert in the world at his side

It was Reif against the whole world. He might be able to win if he was given more time to increase his power but Nath didn't give him that time

This time, Reif trained early and there is someone driving him for improvement. How could his power not be stronger at this time in the original timeline?
