Chapter 79 - 78

"You will get chosen too" Tristan reassured the little bunny yet Liam just pouted at him

"No need to lie to make me feel better. I'm lazy and don't practice that much"

Liam is still aware of his capabilities to some extent. He was not like his other friends that are hard-working and treat practice seriously

"Trust me" Tristan insisted

It was true that compared to the others, Liam's kills are inferior. However, he still has his own weapon and that is his pure innocence!

Liam has a natural aura around him that made him look and feel like he was the most fragile person in the world

Everyone that will look at him would have the urge to pamper and take care of him in every way that he needs

He's like a small and adorable puppy that people just can't help but like and adore

In this world, there is no lack of hard-working people in the acting industry. The problem was that their natural aura didn't quite fit on a certain kind of role

As for Liam, he definitely suits the kind, nice, and gentle characters. The ones that would be the center of people's fondness. That aura of his is not something that hard work alone can copy

"Geez .... Alright, alright. Since you said so, I don't have a choice but to believe it"

In Liam's eyes, everything looks that Tristan said happened in reality. Since he said that Liam would be accepted and get one of the roles, he would believe in him

Time passes by and Liam realized that Klein and Shane still hasn't arrived. "Is Klein not going to audition?" Liam can't help but ask and Tristan just shrugs

Except for the little bunny, Tristan doesn't pay that much attention to other people. He is also not that close to Klein. How would he know the answer?

"If he didn't, I'm sure it was the fault of a certain someone here" Cain said while poking Calix in the shoulder

"Stop that or I'll punch you in the face" Calix said in annoyance

His mind was already working hard how he could have Klein talk to him yet his good friend was still teasing him

If the two weren't friends since childhood, Calix might have really punched Cain in the face already

"Tsk, you're no fun" Cain muttered before retreating as he feared that Calix might really punch him

Some more time has passed and finally, the new student coordinator of this group has arrived

Behind her were two people - Klein and Shane. The woman was grinning in Cain's direction while Klein was trying to minimize his presence as much as possible

He was literally avoiding looking at Calix at much as he can

Calix badly wanted to talk with Klein but the student coordinator had already started speaking

"Alright, settle down guys. The audition will start now" Henry, the student coordinator announced and the nervous students tidied themselves

Klein went to sit on the chair where his other friends are but he made sure that he was as far as Calix that was looking at him intently

Klein felt like a hole would appear in his face due to the intense stare he was receiving and he could only move his body to the side so that he couldn't see Calix from his peripheral vision

"Hehehe ... what a scaredy-cat you are. Just a month ago, you were always shouting with Calix but now, you are doing your best to hide as much as you can" Shane teased with a goofy smile on her face but in the next second, she gasps as she felt Klein chopping her neck

"That's the first and lightest strike, don't force me to give you a second one" Calix threatened and Shane can only grit her teeth

There are many people around and for her face's sake, Shane can't make a scene. But later, she would surely tease Klein to death

"Okay, Mr. John Clavero, please stand in the middle and we would grade you" Henry said as he sat in the 'judges' seat. There were currently three of them and they are the ones that will decide whether the auditionee is suitable for the role or not

The audition proceeded smoothly as the students presented their act individually or by having some partners

Most of them were nervous and were looking forward to their turn but Klein is completely different

He felt like he would have constipation thanks to someone's intense stare that he could still feel even though he was not looking at him

After some time, it was finally Liam's time. Since he was too much of a dependent person, he had Shane perform with him

Well, the roles that they were auditioning for have several scenes with each other and they can just act one of those

The role that Liam auditioned for is named Kane Eldenberg, an Imperial Prince in the Eldenberg Empire. An imaginary and fictitious Empire that was created for the short series

Kane Eldenberg is a weak and sickly Prince. He was a meek man and a lot of people talked about him behind his back

There is also one character that always tormented him and that is the character that Shane is auditioning for

Casey Eldenberg, the Empress Dowager of the Empire. In the story, Kane is the son of the former Empress, prior to Empress Casey Eldenberg

This part was kind of cliche as the Empress hates Kane and his brother that became the Emperor for obvious reasons

The Empress wanted her own child to sit on the Throne but failed to do so. She didn't give up though and she schemed for her dream to happen while also tormenting Kane to affect his brother that became the Emperor

"1, 2, 3, action!" Henry said loudly and the two auditionees immediately assumed their role

Liam doesn't need to do much. His auditioned role after all is not far from his usual self

Kane Eldenberg was currently in the beautiful Imperial Garden. One that has various kinds of enchanting flowers

Each of these flowers can definitely capture one's eyes. Kane roamed around the garden, fascinated by their beauty

His face has a genuine smile in it as he sniffs one of the flowers that give off a nice and gentle scent

"Second Prince, are you that impudent as to not adhere with the Empire's Law"

A dreadful voice entered Kane's ears and he stiffened from his position. When he turned his head to the source, a person he never wanted to see showed herself to him

The Prince immediately panicked as he deeply bowed his head

"G-greetings to t-the M-Mother of the E-Empire, H-Her Majesty the E-Empress Dowager" Kane greeted fearfully while making sure that his head was bowed as deep as he could

Despite being in such a hard position for moments, the Empress Dowager still hasn't let him raise his head

"Anne, what is the punishment again for someone that dared to ignore an Empress Dowager?" Casey asked her imaginary servant and it was judges that spoke the maids' lines

"Answer Her Majesty, for commoners, they would be beaten to death. For Nobles, they would have to pay a heavy fine and lose one of their eyes. For people of the Royal Blood, they would be beaten with a cane depending on the severity of their crime" the maid loyally answered, causing Kane's whole body to shudder in fear

"Y-Your Majesty, p-please p-pardon my i-insolence! It was n-not my intention to ignore you!" Kane pleaded for mercy yet the evil Empress Dowager merely smiled at him

"Second Prince, you might be of Royal Blood but we all should still respect the law. Someone, cane the Prince's back for fifty times!" The Empress Dowager called for the Imperial Guards

As she is someone that has a status higher than even an Imperial Prince, the guards could only do whatever she wanted

Liam acted as if someone was really dragging him while his face was painted with extreme fear

The expression on his face was not completely perfect but it was easy for him to look pitiful and gain people's sympathy

Liam really looks like he was someone that would soon receive a punishment he doesn't deserve

The Prince was forced to his knees and in the next second, his eyes widened as tears gathered around them

Just like what the Empress Dowager has ordered, the second Prince was really caned in his back

It was just the first one but it already pained him greatly. The Prince has always been sickly and weak yet he was still caned like this

It would be hard to say what would happen to him after he was hit 50 times with a cane

"Y-Your Majesty! P-please f-forgive me! That was really not my intention!" The Prince begged desperately
