Worried as she was, Michelle still didn't dare to peek or listen in on whatever her princess was talking about with the older vampire in her room.
Although she was sure that her naïve little royal vampire would forgive her even if she did so, what kind of loyalty could she claim to have if she wouldn't even allow her princess to have that little bit of privacy?
The short-haired girl couldn't accept that. Not only was Emilia her savior, she was also the one Michelle had accepted as her 'owner'.
Just the thought sent a thrill rushing up her spine, and the brown-haired girl couldn't help but smirk as she caressed the image on her phone screen with adoration.
It was a picture of Emilia smiling at Crystal, taken when the Porter family was being 'arrested'. One of the only two photos she had dared to take of her princess.
Just recalling the smile that her princess gave that blonde girl, Michelle felt that she must have seen the most beautiful sight in the world. A camera could never catch the true beauty and the aura of her princess. If she could, she would pause the whole world, and spend the rest of her life just admiring her smile.
Hopefully, the older vampire girl could realize how lovable her little princess was as well, and there would be no need for any bloodshed. If her expression from before really came from her heart, Michelle believed that there shouldn't be much for her to worry about.
There couldn't possibly exist a person who could stare at a girl with so much love yet bear to hurt her all the same. At least, Michelle refused to believe such a thing.
It took a while before Emilia came down the stairs, though the short-haired girl didn't really mind waiting for her princess. But seeing how the redhead seemed to be preparing to leave the mansion, Michelle hurriedly rushed to intercept her before it was too late. "Princess, wait!"
Emilia stopped to stare at her in confusion before shaking her head. "Michelle? I thought you— No, never mind. Just follow me, we can talk on the way."
Following after the beautiful redhead, Michelle's eyes shone with open admiration as the maids and servants shook their heads in amusement. 'Look how hypnotically her crimson ponytail sways over that cute little butt, aahh! And how can she carry an older girl's weight with such a slim and sexy waist?!'
Michelle couldn't help but sigh. Truly, royal vampires were just magical.
It was a pity that her princess had changed out of her more revealing outfit into this one.
The short-haired girl shook her head. 'Although the short skirt and stocking combo is also sexy, how can I feast my eyes on her silky skin like this?'
Obviously, she meant it in a very respectable, non-predatory way. Michelle would never look at her princess with malicious intent, after all.
Unaware of her servant's thoughts, Emilia nodded to the driver waiting outside the mansion and slid into the backseat, followed shortly after by Michelle. "Noelle gave you the location?"
The driver nodded dutifully as he started the car. "Yes, young miss. It will take us ten minutes to get there."
Emilia gave him another nod before pressing the button to close the privacy screen as she turned to Michelle with a sigh. "Sorry, Michelle. I know it was a bit rude to not listen to you and drag you along, but I really have to be somewhere right away, so we can only talk like this. Anyway, what was it that you needed?"
Michelle furrowed her brows in worry. "B-Before that, is everything alright, princess?"
Of course, she had known that something must have happened for her princess to come carrying the older vampire in her arms, but she hadn't really pondered on it too deeply since Emilia herself looked alright. If the matter continued to bother her princess, though, she obviously had to worry.
The redhead smiled as she ruffled the girl's short brown hair. "Don't worry, it's all good now. There was just some bastard who tried to hurt my big sis, and I can't wait to teach him a lesson, that's all."
"Ohh…" Michelle's heart finally settled down in relief.
Emilia couldn't help but be a little happy when she looked at the blushing short-haired girl. Compared to that day in the hospital, she estimated Michelle must have nearly doubled in weight. Though she was still a little lacking compared to a normal girl, at least she no longer appeared so anorexic.
She made a mental note to ask Noelle to give whatever nutritionist she had looking after the girl a bonus after she was done dealing with the more urgent matters.
Emilia tilted her head curiously. "By the way, what was it that you needed to talk to me about? I'm here to listen, don't worry. Did you decide on which university you'd like to go to? Or was it something else?"
Michelle coughed in embarrassment. "Actually, princess… Y-You're right to think I've decided on what I want to do, b-but… I wonder if you'll agree?"
There was of course a little guilt in her heart, since Emilia obviously expected her to pick a good university or profession. Maybe she expected her to have a brighter future, but Michelle wasn't interested in a future without Emilia at all. Just this once… she was going to be selfish.
The redhead shook her head with a smile. "Are you trying to make stir my curiosity? Just spill it out before I make you regret teasing me."
The brown-haired girl turned her head away in embarrassment. The kinder and friendlier the royal vampire was, the guiltier Michelle felt. "W-Well, princess… I-I wanted to become… a maid."
Emilia blinked, looking more surprised than disappointed. "A… maid?"
Michelle nodded nervously. "R-Right. When I saw how cute they looked, how diligent they were, and how happy they seemed… I decided that's what I wanted to do."
The redhead tilted her head in confusion. "By 'they' you're referring to… the maids in my mansion?"
The short-haired girl gulped. "Y-Yesh."
