"How old are you, Lady Melissa?"
The young boy asked, putting his hands under his face, eager to know Lady Melissa's age.
"How old do you think I am?"
Lady Melissa replied to the young boy with a question of her won.
"I think you're young."
The young boy said.
"How young would you say I am?"
Lady Melissa asked, pressing the boy for more details.
"I think you're 18?"
The young boy asked, his tone sounding doubtful about his answer.
"Nope, I'm 20, though, so that was a close guess."
Lady Melissa said, revealing her age to the little boy.
Just as Lady Melissa was about to say something, a knight had entered the headquarters, Lady Melissa realised from the knight's heavy footsteps.
"There you are, Michael! You worried my mother and me!"
In his knight uniform, the knight said his tone sounding worried about what Lady Melissa assumed the young boy to be his son.
The knight then realised that Lady Melissa was beside his son, quickly bowing down to greet his mistress.
"I apologise for not greeting you earlier, Lady Melissa."
The knight said, bowing his head down while kneeling on the ground before continuing what he was going to say.
"And I am so sorry for my son as well; I am sorry for the inconvenience that he has brought upon you; please give him mercy; if you want to punish someone, please punish me."
The knight said, tears filling up his eyes, scared that Lady Melissa would hurt his child, his one and only child.
"Stand up, knight; I am not punishing anyone."
Lady Melissa confidently said.
"Your child is still young, and I'm sure he would make a great knight."
Lady Melissa said before leaving both the knight and his son together, confusing the knight on what had just happened.
Lady Melissa felt as if she was cool until she realised she had forgotten entirely about the dummy's broken wooden arm that she had left in the bushes; oh well, she could always retrieve it later, right?
Lady Melissa thought to retrieve the rope though, after all, it was a damning piece of evidence if it would be used against her.
Lady Melissa headed to the bushes under her window, looking if there was anyone around the area.
After checking her surroundings for a couple of minutes, Lady Melissa decided that it was safe before going into the bushes and taking the rope, before taking the unlimited pouch from her pants' pockets before putting the rope inside of it.
Which took some time as the rope was quite long; it had to be long, or else Lady Melissa wouldn't be able to get down safely.
After five minutes, though, the rope was inside of Lady Melissa's unlimited pocket, and she didn't have to worry about it going anywhere or perhaps disappearing.
Nor would Lady Melissa have to worry about the rope being used against her, not anymore at least.
Lady Melissa went to the dining table, her father and mother already being there.
"Morning, Melissa."
The Duke nonchalantly greeted his daughter.
"Morning, dad, and morning mom."
Lady Melissa replied, before ordering pasta, excited to try the pasta out after a much-needed swordsmanship practice session.
"Morning, Melissa."
The Duchess replied after Lady Melissa had ordered her pasta.
Surprisingly enough, the Duchess was reading a newspaper, and so was the Duke; it wasn't something weird or different for the Duke to read a newspaper, but for the Duchess, it was seldom, as she would much prefer her time to be reading books and not the newspaper.
"Mother, what do you happen to be reading?"
Lady Melissa curiously asked.
The Duchess, not even looking up from the newspaper, quickly replied.
"Jack The Ripper murdered someone again."
"Yeah, that's what your mother and I are reading."
The Duke replied as well.
"Can I see?"
Lady Melissa asked, curious to know when and where Jack The Ripper had struck again.
"Sure."
Quickly Lady Melissa stood up from her chair, going to her mother's side of the table to get a glimpse of Jack The Ripper's most recent murder.
The first thing that caught Lady Melissa's eye was the newspaper discussing about a woman, Mary Ann Nichols, who was brutally murdered, just like the rest of the Jack The Ripper's victims.
Scarcely has the horror and sensation caused by the discovery of the murdered woman in Whitechapel some short time ago had time to abate, when another discovery is made, which, for the brutality exercised on the victim, is even more shocking, and will no doubt create as great a sensation in the vicinity as its predecessor.
The affair up to the present is enveloped in complete mystery, and the police have as yet no evidence to trace the perpetrators of the horrible deed.
The facts are that as Constable John Neil was walking down Bucks-row, Thomas-street, Whitechapel, about a quarter to four o'clock this morning, he discovered a woman between thirty-five and forty years of age lying at the side of the street with her throat cut right open from ear to ear, the instrument with which the deed was done tracing the throat from left to right.
The wound was an inch wide, and blood was flowing profusely.
She was immediately conveyed to the Whitechapel Mortuary when it was found that besides the wound in the throat, the lower part of the abdomen was completely ripped open, with the bowels protruding.
The wound extends nearly to her breast and must have been affected with a large knife.
As the corpse lies in the mortuary, it presents a ghastly sight.
The victim seems to be between thirty-five and forty years of age and measures five feet two inches in height. The hair is dark - features small. The hands are bruised and bear evidence of having been engaged in a severe struggle. There is the impression of a ring having been worn on one of the deceased's fingers, but there is nothing to show that it had been wrenched from her in a struggle. Some of the front teeth have also been knocked out, and the face is bruised on both cheeks and very much discoloured.
The victim is discovered to be Mary Ann Nichols.
Lady Melissa's eyes skimmed through the newspaper, her eyes reading in the speed of light, noticing that the newspaper was written by the company The Pall Mall Gazette.
