'Or....I could ask Derreck, I'm sure he's remembered most of the employees, and it wouldn't be suspicious if he notes down details about them since he usually has a notebook carried around with him all the time in case Father, mother or I ask him for something.'

Lady Melissa thought to herself, wondering about the options she could choose from.

Which wasn't a lot, she only had to pick between two choices, either Victoria or Derreck, and by the way Lady Melissa was thinking, asking Derreck to do it seemed less riskier and employees wouldn't be alerted at all if he did it, however if an unknown person did it, it would alert the whole Shayla estate and confuse them on how the unknown person even managed to enter the Shayla estate.

Especially if Victoria had disguised herself as Lady Melissa.

Lady Melissa was left with no choice but to ask Derreck about it, though that would have to wait as there just coincidentally happened to have a knock on the door.

"Come in."

Lady Melissa said, as the door opened, revealing itself to be none other than her teacher.

'Can't wait for all that misery.'

Lady Melissa said, before she spent hours studying a numerous number of subjects, before it had finally reached 7 PM.

Lady Melissa went into the bathroom, immediately putting on the temperature on warm so it wouldn't be neither too hot nor cold for her body, but just right,

'I should remember to ask Derreck about it later, or I can always visit him later. Though I would most likely forget about it.'

Lady Melissa thought, wondering if she should just talk to Derreck about it later after dinner, or when it was later at night.

'Eh, I'll probably ask him after dinner since he usually sleeps early and the servant's headquarters aren't exactly my favourite place.'

Lady Melissa thought, not wanting to go to the servant's headquarters as it was filled with servants who were very loud, though they didn't affect Lady Melissa nor her parent's when they slept as the servant's headquarters were very far from Lady Melissa and her parents' sleeping chambers.

Lady Melissa quickly got dressed, as she combed her beautiful long hair, before changing into her pyjamas and going down to eat dinner with her parents.

Lady Melissa went down the stairs as she spotted her mother only at the dinner table.

"Mother, what's wrong? Why do you look so worried?"

Lady Melissa curiously asked, seeing her mother's tired and stressed look on her face.

"Oh, it's nothing dear, don't even worry about me."

The Duchess said, reassuring Lady Melissa that nothing was wrong with her and that she was completely alright.

"Are you sure mother? Where is father? Is he not joining us for dinner?"

Lady Melissa asked, wondering why her father was not joining her family for dinner.

"I'm sure dear, your father is a little busy with work since he just came back, so unfortunately he will not be able to eat dinner with us tonight. I am busy as well with work, but he decided to do half of my work so I can have time to eat dinner with you."

The Duchess said, before pausing and continuing her sentence a few seconds later.

"Your father says he's sorry he can't join you for tonight's dinner."

The Duchess said to Lady Melissa.

"Later when you see him, tell him it's all right and you know I can always help out with both you and father's work right?"

Lady Melissa asked, wanting to help her parents out somehow, instead of being a burden which she thought she was.

"How could my father and I do such a thing to you? Melissa, you're still young, enjoy this time to find a guy, fall in love and live your dreams, you can suffer with the paperwork once you've married the guy."

The Duchess jokingly said to her daughter.

"I'm still young? I bet you and father are the only nobles who would even say a thing about their daughter around my age. I'm the perfect age to get married mother."

Lady Melissa replied to her mother.

"Melissa, you do not have to get married for us. We're not like other families, they require wealth and status, but we. We are different."

The Duchess said, pointing at Lady Melissa, before she pointed at herself.

"We are from the Shayla family. We need not wealth or status, and I want you to marry out of love, like me and your father. Not because of wealth or status."

The Duchess said, telling her daughter how she wanted her daughter to marry someone out of love, and not their wealth or status.

"Look, I know society is very harsh and cruel, but you ought not to listen to them. Although I agree that sometimes we have to listen to the public and society, we shall always put ourselves first, not someone else's opinion on us."

The Duchess firmly said to Lady Melissa, she didn't want her daughter to grow up, always listening to society.

Even if she always listened to society, someone would try to bring her down. Be it because of jealousy or anger, there would always be at least one person at the end of the day who would try to bring you down.

So what was the point of trying to please everyone anyways?

"Look, I love you Melissa, and I want you to have the happiest life you can have, I don't want you to be stressed out like your father and I. I want you to be happy, even if it's only for now. I want to see you smile."

The Duchess said, putting her hands on Lady Melissa's face.

"Of course, you have to listen to society or the public, most of the time. What I'm saying is go have fun and live your life, as long as you don't get caught by anybody other than your parents.. No matter what you do, or where you end up, just know that your father and I will both always be with you."
