"You know a warning would be nice."
Duke Alphonso sarcastically said to Lady Melissa after she had made sure to cast a spell to make the room soundproof for the next few hours or so, as she looked at the broken glass, it looked like she needed to buy a new window now.
"I should be saying that to you, oh and thank you for breaking my window! It's an honour to see you here at 01.00 A.M."
Lady Melissa sarcastically said to Duke Alphonso, her tone filled with annoyance and irritation from the fact that Duke Alphonso couldn't have chosen a better time to just break into her house and break her window.
"Aren't you busy anyway? How do you even have the time to go here at 01.00 A.M.?"
Lady Melissa asked, her tone filled with interest genuinely wondering how Duke Alphonso was able to go to her house on a Tuesday, and at 01.00 A.M. Since Lady Melissa knew that royal family aides never had any free time.
"Oh don't worry about that, and don't worry, I'll get the window fixed in a few minutes."
Duke Alphonso said, as he cast a magic spell, restoring the window's broken shards into the original window just like how it had originally been, though he made a few adjustments to the window.
"You should get a better window, your window can easily be broken into."
Duke Alphonso said, as Lady Melissa felt annoyed considering the fact that the window was only broken because of the man right in front of her, who had just broken into her house at 01.00 A.M.
"The window would've been broken in the first place if it weren't for you."
Lady Melissa said a matter of factly, as Duke Alphonso noticed her change in attitude (after all it was hard not to) as he decided that he was partially wrong for this, as the man let out a sigh, before apologizing to her.
"I apologize, Lady Melissa, I just wanted to see your face since I missed you, after all, it's been days since we've last met nor talked to each other."
Duke Alphonso said, as he apologized to Lady Melissa, who was a little surprised hearing the second part of Duke Alphonso's sentence, though she appeared not to be affected by it, acting as stoic as ever.
"I'll accept it, just…don't break into my house through the window next time anymore alright? Plus if you do break into my house through the window I'd prefer for you not to break the window."
Lady Melissa said, after all, this was the second time since Duke Alphonso had broken her window- quite literally, and although he had made up and apologized for his actions, what use was it if he just kept repeating them.
"I'll make sure to send you a letter in advance, though perhaps you should make me a personalized door for me to go to since I get bored most of the time."
Duke Alphonso said as Lady Melissa rolled her eyes at his suggestion, she couldn't believe that the man right in front of her was the very same smart man who was one of the Crown Prince's closest aides.
However, this wasn't the strangest thing that Lady Melissa had ever experienced, between her almost drowning because of Lady Camilia and getting kidnapped by Lady Camilia who shifted into Duke Gaston.
Or maybe how the person who she thought had died (Victoria) had somehow gone back to life and was out to kill Lady Melissa? Or maybe another more traumatizing experience was seeing Jack The Ripper kill someone in front of her very own two eyes.
Least to say, Lady Melissa had her fair share of traumatic events and strange things happening to her, so this wasn't her first time experiencing it.
Lady Melissa let out a yawn, as she stretched out her arms, Duke Alphonso staring at her face, as the man let out a little smile seeing Lady Melissa yawning as he thought that she was adorable- not that he would ever admit it aloud though.
The action of course didn't go unnoticed by Lady Melissa, even though she was practically just living off of caffeine and chamomile tea now, her favourite drinks and the only things that helped keep her awake.
"How about you join me? I was about to drink some champagne earlier before you had so rudely interrupted me and broke into my house, and quite literally broke my window before rebuilding it."
Lady Melissa said, as it was obvious how annoyed and irritated she was, even though Duke Alphonso had already apologized and fixed his mistake, she was very much still annoyed at the man.
It was a good thing that Duke Alphonso was very observant at things, especially when it would come to her- not that Lady Melissa would particularly realize that he was more observant when he was around with her.
At least this way, Lady Melissa would know that Duke Alphonso understood that she was still a little annoyed by his actions and that he would hopefully not repeat the very same mistakes he made earlier.
"I'd love to join you and have a drink with you, save me a glass or two, I need to go to the bathroom first if that's alright with you?"
Duke Alphonso asked, as Lady Melissa nodded her head, pointing to the bathroom in the room that was at the right of her, as Duke Alphonso thankfully nodded at her, before rushing to the bathroom.
Duke Alphonso let out a cough, opening up his coat as it revealed his bloodstained white shirt, as he coughed out blood all over Lady Melissa's sink, quickly washing off his blood using some water.
Duke Alphonso had rushed here, not only because he missed Lady Melissa, but because of a few other reasons too, and he thought that he could trust her, so he came here, for just a few hours and he'd leave.
