Lady Melissa rushed back, it felt like she had just spent hours talking to the elderly woman inside, yet in reality, it had only been a few minutes.
"Lady Melissa, where did you go? I couldn't trace you, you just suddenly disappeared. I kept watching you from earlier on but I still couldn't find you."
Justin said, confused on how Lady Melissa had just suddenly disappeared from earlier, and somehow had just suddenly reappeared, in front of him, he knew something was up, and Justin knew that Lady Melissa knew too that something was up, as Lady Melissa continued walking- walking past him this time.
"We're going back home, now, now you can either continue wondering how the hell I just disappeared, or you can actually do your job for once, and carry these potions for me till we reach the carriage, if anything happens to these potions or me, you're fired. Now, do I make myself clear?"
Lady Melissa asked Justin, though if anything her question sounded more like an order- a demand for Justin, a demand for him to follow her orders, in reality, it wasn't even a question, he didn't have a choice to do it or not.
"Understood."
Justin said, as Lady Melissa nodded her head, before she continued heading to the carriage, the carriage that was right in the middle of the bustling capital, her heart was still racing from earlier.
Lady Melissa was trying her best not to think about what Justin had mentioned to her- she was trying her best, to forget it all, knowing that she didn't have the time to think about this, but she couldn't help herself, how in the hell did she just manage to disappear? She doubted that Justin had lied to her, and she felt that something was sketchy about the elderly woman, but there was just no way that she suddenly disappeared, right?
Lady Melissa was going to investigate the incident by herself later on, but now was just not the time, now she had to figure out a way to execute her plan to Duke Gaston, a way that she would end up successfully assassinating the man, or in other words, the man that she was in love with.
Soon enough, Lady Melissa entered her carriage, immediately letting out a sigh once she was inside, as Justin sent her a worried look, although Lady Melissa completely ignored the look that he had sent her, and since he wasn't allowed to ask her anything since she was his boss, he didn't ask her anything, or how she was doing.
"Lady Melissa, on the count of three, duck."
Justin said, without warning, as Lady Melissa was left confused before in just a few seconds, he said something yet again. "Three," Justin said, as Lady Melissa, immediately ducked, Justin ducking as well, although the both of them had changed their positions, Justin was now ducking in front of Lady Melissa to protect her.
A bullet had been fired to the carriage, and to make it worse, it seemed like one of the bullets was aimed at the carriage's wheel, causing the carriage to spin in the process. Luckily, there was no one near their carriage, which meant no one was injured.
The problem? They were on the road specifically to reach the Shayla estate, it could take a few hours for someone to even notice that someone was wrong, and this? They didn't have a few hours, or even an hour with all the assassins around.
The carriage kept spinning and spinning and spinning, as Lady Melissa probably realized that now was the worst time for her motion sickness to kick in, as Justin continually went in front of her, trying to protect her, as he tried to scan through the broken window for the assassins.
"There are six of them, three on the left, and another three on the right, all of them are armed, and there are shards of broken glass everywhere, are you alright Lady Melissa?"
Justin asked, noticing Lady Melissa's pale face, worried about how she was feeling as she didn't look like she was doing her best right now, which he wasn't sure was because of all the assassins or the fact that the carriage was still spinning, suddenly, the carriage came to a halt, as Lady Melissa replied to Justin.
"I'm fine, you're sure that there are six assassins? And not more or less?"
Lady Melissa asked Justin, a worried look on her face.
"I'm sure."
Justin said as he nodded his head.
"I want you to go out there, and try to distract the six assassins, and try to make it out there alive, meanwhile, I'll go hide somewhere since I'm not in a fit condition to fight."
Lady Melissa said as Justin nodded his head, even though he didn't completely agree with Lady Melissa's decision, in addition to that he had hundreds of questions filling up his head, all about her, and how she was going to do this.
"How will I know where you are Lady Melissa?"
"You'll know through the ring."
"The ring's broken."
"Then we'll figure something out, now in the meantime, get your ass out there and use the carriage driver as bait if you need to, you can let him die, but if I find out that you die, I'm going to murder you."
Lady Melissa said, as she sent a glare to Justin, she wasn't going to let her bodyguard die, at least not on her watch- and certainly not when her bodyguard was working, plus, it'd be a pain in the ass for her to get a new bodyguard.
"When we're done with this, and I find you later, give me five minutes where you ignore our boss-employee relationship, I deserve at least that much, now, I'll survive Lady Melissa, even if that means the poor carriage driver won't."
Justin said as he ran out of the carriage, his objective being to distract the assassins and drag them away.
"That's the spirit."
Lady Melissa said as she whispered to herself.
