Sensing the change undergone by the dragon, Sheila quickly prepared herself by applying a barrier around her and was ready to conjure a spell at any second. But rather than waiting patiently to witness the change like a certain famous anime franchise, the bracelet on her hand suddenly squirm around as if it had become alive before transforming itself into a silver-white 500 caliber revolver in a matter of seconds.
It took her a few seconds of admiring the beauty of the handgun before aiming at the dragon and taken fire. The bullet that spews out of the handgun isn't an ordinary one either, it's one made out of her own mana—so, it holds quite the punch in terms of power. Normally, it shouldn't be able to penetrate or even leave a dent on the dragon's skin. But with the unique property of the blue-colored glove on her right hand, her power is currently multiple by two times.
Psh!
The bullet that travels in the air smoothly pierced into the dragon's shoulder leaving a small hole where brown blood immediately seeped out. Suddenly, the soil on the ground slowly turned black where the Earth Dragon stood, and as if time rewinds itself, the blood on the ground flowed back into the small gap as the wound rapidly close up until everything was restored as if a bullet hadn't pierced there.
'Time manipulation? No, it isn't as grand as that. This is most likely a simple regeneration of an earth dragon, and the cost for such power comes at the price of turning the soil where it stood dark. It's definitely not ordinary soil anymore, but that begets more questions. Is that soil cursed? Or is it simply unfertilized?' Sheila internally sighed upon witnessing such a rare sight.
She wasn't the least bit envious as she got potion and many other ways to heal herself with the help of the system. And to a certain extent, she could also revive a corpse, that is if their death didn't pass more than fifteen minutes. Though even if she had the means to do so, that didn't mean she would be more reckless, that's just courting death.
If possible, she didn't want to rely on the system as much as she could. So far, it has given her so many benefits, more than she could count. And all of them give her no side effects—actual consequences, as the saying goes if it is too good to be true, it's usually a scam.
Maybe the system acts as a stabilizer so as to help her not get overwhelmed by her own power. And the truth is, she didn't really level up but actually adapting to them as she grows. Is that why she didn't feel anything when she learned a new skill, unlike Ria and others where they feel as if their head split apart?
Or maybe the one behind the system is actually herself but from the future, and she comes to the past just to annoy her past self for no reason. Yeah, she could definitely see herself doing exactly that if she has the power to manipulate space and time. What are the chances that her guesses hit the mark?
'Absolutely none.' Sheila sighed as her steps quicken. With the dragon's healing capabilities, she wondered how long it could be used. If there's a limit to it, for example, it couldn't be employed again if it stood on the previous ground, she should be able to beat it. However, in the rare case that it can be spam disregarding everything, that will be very tricky.
Grooooar!
With a fierce roar that threatens the land, her eyes discern the surface around the dragon shook before tall towers out of dirt speedily rise heading toward her in the sky. She hurriedly evaded one after another, and before the tall tower could hit her, she punched it with all her might which obliterated it to mere dirt and soon fell flat back to the surface.
'Earth Dragon indeed could manipulate their surrounding, more specifically the earth, thankfully the battle is here and not in the mountain.' She could imagine how difficult that would be—not being able to fly freely, and her movement restricted by the surrounding trees, its pure disadvantages. It's dumb to fight in the enemy's home ground, so she did consider baiting the dragon out of the mountain once her preparation is completed. Though things went differently than she imagined, it turned out reasonably well in the end.
She won't forgive the member of the church still though. It was their mistake that ruined her whole plan and even brought danger to the people. Furthermore, if she hadn't intervened, many lives would be lost until someone that can take care of the dragon finally appeared.
Just as she was wondering when the military will take action considering they already locked down the whole region around the mountain where the earth dragon once inhabited, she suddenly looked to her right. In the distance, she saw something flying toward her location.
"As you all can see, there's a huge monster over there, and floating in the sky above it, there seemed to be a person? A person is flying in the sky?!"
'... it's the media.' Sheila sighed, she couldn't understand how fearless some of these people are. They are like mindless apes, what they care about is only content, not their own wellbeing.
'Whatever, I don't care if they died or live, I can make use of this. No matter how the government tried to hide this event later on, they won't be able to do much with so many witnesses around. And by introducing me as some sort of hero symbol, it would be helpful for me to amass some reputation first before recruiting people by then.' Sheila nodded then inspect herself secretly once again making sure there isn't anything that could identify back to her real identity.
When the media chopper flew closer toward her, the earth dragon immediately took notice of it as another flying creature and thought it was also an enemy, so without any hesitation, it breathes fire toward it. Only when they saw fire heading their way did the reporters finally came to their senses. But by then, it was already too late.
