"Is there a witch involve?" Kight asked.
'I don't know yet. The fact is its Cambodian magic. There was a lot of blood. Two tattoos and no aura other than yellow and brown, not good I think."
"Brown?"
"Yes, it could be a vampire or it just could be a weak wizard. I did retrace and saw a book with the cover page."
"Anything else I should know?"
"Sorry, I can't help with that but I do have more questions. There were items of suspicion at the scene like an animal tooth and salt circle. Is there anyone out here starting off in the art?" I asked pressing my luck but I wasn't letting him see my hand.
"There has been a coven of humans visiting often."
"He talked to them?"
"Yes, I'm sure Jamey had talked to them more than once but I don't think it's them. Then again they've been buying items with power but nothing that I would worry about immediately." He said cut and short.
The tone of his voice told me all I need to know. It was clear that this topic was not up for any further discussing, another dead end. But today I was on my good behavior so I'll let it go and stop myself from pushing. I think I need him to solve the case. I mean he's going after this anyway so why not pull resources and make it easier but we need to dance around first. He wasn't going to give too much away until I convince him that I could be useful.
Until then I had other leads to do that like the blood, the wolfsbane, the teeth and the torn book. I need to make a few potions and spells I should get some evidence. Just knowing didn't cut it.
"I see. Any dirt on Sonia? Any deep dark secrets?" I said smiling sweetly.
"Maybe, maybe not, what's in it for me?"
"Answers?"
"Very well, she had more than one lover. Today the three were supposed to meet. Jamey has been looking forward to it." He said lazily.
"Thank you."
It was big news for me. This explained a lot of the off behavior. The excitement, the stillness and the mix aura could be explained with a shadow spell. This was something I didn't get to do the last time as I was kicked off the case. It wasn't until a pile of bodies showed up that they called me again. At that point, my hands were tied as the guardian had arrived.
