"She has both the tattoo carved in and skin missing?" I asked.

"Yes, the doctors say she needs surgery. It's like she swallowed something and it's ripping her stomach apart. The hospital is still waiting for experts not that they will be any help. Doctors can't operate immediately either because she has a rare blood type." Ronnie said, leading me into another room and closing the door.

"That's not good,"

"No .It's very bad. Don't you think I know that," Ronnie hissed, " She'll die with that rare blood types of hers."

Warning bells rang. Blood types and power come hand in hand. If you check my blood, it'd be a very rare O negative that no one has heard of in years.

I cross my fingers and hope that I didn't know the girl and that she wasn't from any line or family known. If it was I am in for one very memorable evening.

My notepad had writing on it with orders. I need to report in at the council tonight and for me to leave at once, Aunt Selene would make an appointment for me. It would seem there had been other targets and the picture was much bigger than I anticipated. The death of normals were one thing but if it is on our side with these circumstances I'll be in trouble. After all, if they know sooner they could have stopped it and she could have been spared.

"Here we are," Ronnie pointed across the hall to another room with the blinds opened. "Do you know her?"

"Let's see,"

"What do you think?"

I turned to follow her finger. I wasn't prepared for the sight I saw an elf laying on the bed with wires on her head and tubes coming from her mouth and into her arms and machines beeping and flashing all around her as she slept.

This was worst than anything ever. After all, I had one almost dead elf princess, not the most popular one or the powerful one but a princess never the less so the council would have to step in.

"Venda Elli, this can't be happening," I said dumbfounded.

My knees gave out and I just sat down without thinking.

This was how the war started.

The thing my aunts couldn't see.

I was so shocked. She was a dominant member of the high council. Her death was brutal last time. This time I did enough of a butterfly effect to help.

"Gray, are you okay?" Ronnie asked looking rather confused.

"No,"

"You, know her?" Ronnie asked with a concerned and knowing look on her face.

"Yes and no. I know of her like any other person would know the Pope. She's like an important high priest in my religion. This is really bad. I need to contact the council at once or they would have my head." I said in a dazed voice, not wanting to say any more until I called it into whoever I had to call it into.

After all not anyone would understand that there was a council and a high council. They needed to be notified. I wrote it down and then my mind went to the basin last night. It had to be connected.
