141 A deal

With a blink, the boss was gone. Leaving his accounting books and his store behind. There wasn't much that I needed to learn from him. I was going to go after my list and let MEE work his.

I handed over the coordinate to MEE and have her move the store home. IT was a good spot and there was room for a small cafe in the day. It was convenient. There were three 3 basement levels, the first floor was the storeroom for depositing commonly traded commodities; the second floor for storing valuable commodities; the third floor was a laboratory much larger than the one I had at home.

Ding--!

The sound came from the bell on the door rang when someone came in, that was fast. MEE just took us home. We just got here and there was already a customer.

I turn to look towards the door, it was a middle-aged man with a worn out face. It was Rust. He was the owner of the bar on the second and third floor. Not someone I would expect to deal with blood.

"Can I really get anything I want here?" Rust asked uncertainly with a tone of expectation.

I look and found the man holding a gold card in his hand. Made from pure gold valuable and indestructible, and the Boss calling card. To normal, you needed one of these to make a deal. But it wasn't in my playbook. I'll make any deal I can.

Looking at him closely, I could see that he had problems. His suit was crumbled and he looks like he hadn't slept in months. There was a three-day stubble on his face and his eyes were blood shot. It was almost like he was a different person that then man that sign a contract with me months earlier.

"What do you want?"

"Landlady?" Rust asked doubtfully.

"This is the boss. Please take a sit, esteemed guest," MEE said suddenly.

Though she was only a clockwork puppet, she was human like enough. Capable of solving most problems with me having to lift a finger, it's an aspect I've always envied for being an older contractor and able to get your hands on clockwork puppets before the council band them.

"Are you really the boss of this cafe." Rusk looked at me from top to bottom.

It was no surprised.

"Just tell me what you need?"I asked back.

Rusk promptly shook his head, as he was afraid and explained, "My son needs a new liver. His is failing."

"I see."

Then, he sized me up and said: "I don't care how much money you need. I'm willing to pay"

"I'm afraid you don't understand what boss cafe offers," I said coolly.

When Rusk heard this, he hurriedly put a gold card on the table. "I heard you'll be extorting me of all my worth but this is my only son."

I knew he didn't understand.

"Rusk, I like you. So I'll give you a deal. 10 Years of your life energy and six luck points, and I'll cure your son of all his illness. Not just the liver."

There was a long paused.
