Chapter 2 - 2 - One Lucky Crayfish

Soon night fall came and yukiya set of to Suikal village in her magic chariot. Xia che waved her off and set off to the nearby village, on his own.

This is not the first time that both of them have separately so it didn't affect Xia chess mood at all. Walking through the serene forest, it was too quiet.

Owls didn't hoot, little insects didn't chirp and little nocturnal animal none to be found on the path of Xia che. All the animals can sense a formidable predator so they keep out if his way.

Xiao che dressed in azure garbs lightly tough a night bloom flower with his out stretched arms as he skipped along his pathway. As he touched it, it started glowing. Showing traces of breaking through to spiritual awareness stage. This was the power of Xiao che's earth magic. He loved being one with the nature and often helped such small flowers to cultivate.

By an hour he reached the outskirts of the cultivator's city of Divinion. "I hope to find some tasty treats for mommy Yukiya," rubbing his palms, he entered the crowd after wearing a translucent veil hat. Last time he had made the mistake of not wearing one and a fat old man held his arms and was pestering him. He even had the audacity to say the he was musician from the flower house, when the yamen runners intervened.

"I heard one of the new restaurant serves the best moon cakes. Let me go try that out first" he said to himself and headed off into the crowd towards the west.

After giving his order in the shop, he was waiting having a cup of tea.

"Have you heard there is going to be a surprise auction at the heaven hall today."

"This has been the first time they had arranged a surprise auction ah, there might be some heavenly treasure."

"ayah if they had informed us before hand I would have brought some money from my house."

Discussion went on at the next table. Xiao che's curiosity was piqued by the news he heard.

Paying for his ordered Xia che left swiftly towards the heaven hall auction.

The hall was already filled to the brim with people milling to get a seat in the auction. Xiao che and yukiya always had a priority room in this auction house. So xiao che headed directly to the room.

The auction starts in an hour so refreshment was provided to entertain the guests. Xiao enjoyed a plate full of colourful rise caked before the auction started.

"Welcome all to the heaven hall. Today surprise auction is presented by one of the elders. The one and only Elder taljia." The presenter invited the elder to proceed with the auction.

"First auctioned product is Heavenly green jade wood." And he gestured for the product to be bought to the stage " an ornate box with a small jade like wood was bought in. " let's start the auction price with 100 gold."

"200 gold"."250 gold"."300 gold" people started shouting their price. The price came to 2000 gold and finally it was sold to person who owns a private house. Xia che was not interested in this at all; he had thousands of those littered in his river. He started loosing his interest after just 4 products. Everything was normal and common products available to him.

"Next product mysterious Amulet found in Kajia Ruins. The price starts with 1000 gold" The product was bought in. It was just a small red jade amulet with a dragon carved on it. Everyone started naming the price. Xia che was also interested in it so he waited till the last to name his price.

"5000 gold going once, going twice..."

"6000 gold" he shouted his price. He won the bid. The amulet was brought over to his room in ornate jade box.

He roamed around a little bit more and finally set off to his river. On the way back he took out the amulet. The dragon carved on it seemed too real, even its whiskers were carved with precision.

"What a great find. I hope Yukiya likes it." He was lucky crayfish after all. He was lucky ever since he was born. He stumbles on a rock and finds a bag of gold. Throws a stick and helps a drowning immortal. Many such occurrences had happened. That's why he was prideful of his heavenly luck.

Hopping his way back he waited near the banks of the river where they usually hang out.

After an hour:

"She is running late ah, maybe she is sightseeing. It will not take long. She will be back."

After two hours:

"Maybe she ate too much food and having diarrhoea."

After 5 hours:

He started to panic at the fifth hour. The magic chariot Yukiya took usually travels by the speed of light. It takes minutes to travel back and forth.

But Yukiya was 5 hours late now.

He waited and waited for years but Yukiya never came back.. Yukiya had left and so did his luck.
