Chapter 45 - 45 - Yukiya's Engagement

As the loving pair were having a tussle in the bed, Yukiya in the heavenly realm was stuck in a devastating state.

Just two days ago, the parental control mark she had on her forearm started blinking rapidly. Its blue shimmer was so blinding that she had to tie gauze around her wrist just to cover it up.

But today... Today things got even worse; the mark was shimmering from blue to red. The last time this had happened was a thousand years ago when an old man had kidnapped and assaulted her baby crayfish.

Worry filled her heart as she slowly lowered her sleeve. Gritting her teeth, she glanced at the mirror in front of her. 'My precious baby is in danger, so what am I still doing here? I need to leave this place at any cost,' she thought with hands clenched.

"My dear princess, does this crown look good?" A maid whispered, placing a huge golden phoenix crown on her head. "Or maybe the one we tried before would suit your wedding dress well," she mumbled to herself. The maid opened up another huge crate full of jewels and started searching for the appropriate one.

Yukiya cupped her aching forehead. What has this come to? Last time she had been brought to heaven realm wounded and barely conscious, the crazy lady had her engaged to her lunatic son.

The incident that happened five days ago was still fresh in her mind.

The crazy lady kept blabbering about how she supported her son's love life and how she wanted them to be together forever. Yukiya tried interrupting her many times, but none of her words went into that crazy lady's ears.

On the auspicious date of her so-called engagement, she tried escaping the loony bin they called the heavenly palace. But luck was not on her path that day. She ran straight into the heavenly emperor himself.

The old man held her shoulders and sighed. "Sorry, my dear, my wife would be so disappointed if you escaped this marriage," he pulled her hand, literally dragged to the hall.

"Your highness, please I DONT EVEN KNOW YOUR SON," she cried wiggling her hands in his tight grip.

The heavenly emperor turned back and glanced at her with a hesitant gaze. "So you don't love him," he whispered.

But before she could reason with him, the crazy lady had found them both.

"Honey, thank god you found the princess, it's time for the ceremony," the crazy lady interrupted. She held her husband's hands and gave him a loving smile.

The emperor visibly relaxed at his wife's touch. "Yes, let's not keep the guest waiting," he mumbled with a loving smile.

"But you have to listen to me. I don't love him," Yukiya cried. But all of her struggles became futile as she was dragged to the ceremony hall by the crazy couple.

A huge array of guests cheered for her as she was being pulled to the ceremonial chair. 'This is injustice. I already have a son' she wanted to shout, but gauging from the level of spiritual energy in the room, even a small maid can kill her off if she attempted to humiliate the royal couple.

She lowered her head and walked in shame. 'Why am I not strong? Why? Why? My poor son is in danger, but here I am being forced to engage. God, why such injustice,' she cried in her heart. Unshed tears burned her retina, but she refused to give her hope up.

'There will be a way to escape this marriage. I have to.' She swore in her heart, glancing at the jade ground.

She waited for a while, but her aforementioned groom was nowhere to be found.

"What is taking him so long?" the crazy lady mumbled, wringing a small kerchief in her hands.

"Maybe he got distracted with his studies," the emperor mumbled. "Guards go fetch my son," he ordered.

Ten minutes later, a deranged man was dragged into the hall. He was tied up by the heavenly rope, making him incapable of movements.

"I demand you to let me go," he screamed, straining his muscles. The golden rope around his torso creaked, but it refused to budge.

He kept grunting and groaning.

"My dear son, what took you so long? The love of your life is waiting for you," the crazy woman cheerfully giggled.

The moment she spoke, the lad lost his will to fight. Like a shivering little bunny, he slowly walked up to Yukiya and finished their engagement ceremony.

And that was how the lucky Koi was engaged to marry the heavenly Prince Long Ki.

Thinking back to her crazy engagement made her teeth ache.

"Princess, I think the dragon crown will suit you for your auspicious day," the maid giggled, placing a different crown on her head.

She had lost count of how many she had tried today.

Because all this preparation was for her wedding day tomorrow, the day she planned her escape from this golden dungeon.
