Chapter 59 - 59 - Jealous Lover

"Xia... Xia, are you listening?" princess waved her hand in front of his dazed face.

Xia Che snapped back to reality. "Yeah... My mind was just drifting somewhere .... else," he whispered. Glancing up, he found her face was quite close to his.

"Men and woman should keep their distance," he said with a wince.

The woman raised her eyebrow and said, "But during an unsafe time like this, only my saviour's presence makes me safe,"

Xia frowned hard. 'Why is this woman doing this? Her touch makes my skin crawl,' he thought with a shudder.

Princess saw him shuddering. "Saviour Xia, are you cold? Wait, here take this." She handed a soft fur coat to him. "This fur is from a minx of golden ear cultivation, it will keep you warm,"

Xia's eyes widened at this. The fur was top quality. But knowing that it came from a demon that cultivated to a golden core made his heart shudder.

He took the coat and closed his eyes in a short prayer. 'Sorry little minx that your fur had to be stripped in a cruel manner like this,'

The coat glowed silver after his prayer and returned to normal.

"Wow, I didn't know Minx fur did that," The princess watched it, astonished. "so fascinating,"

Human had always been hateful to the demons. Hunting them for their fur, meat and blood. That was the reason demons chose to remain anonymous in this world, hidden and living a content life.

But once in a while demons' powers go on a rampage, exposing their identity. I think that was the poor fate of this beautiful Minx as well.

Xia sighed. "Princess, this Minx dies in a most painful and cruel manner. It's not beautiful or fascination, it's just sad," he whispered.

The woman's smile fell at this. "My brother gifted me this. I didn't have anything to do with the minx, I swear," she said holding her fingers up.

Xia glanced at her innocent temperament and sighed. "Anyone who uses it would directly be linked to this poor demon's death,"

"Oh, but aren't all demons evil," she whispered with a hesitant look.

Xia glanced at her in disappointment. "Princess, not all demons are evil. Some live their lives a little naughty way. But they don't mean any harm. They even help humans,"

The princess had a look of realisation. She hopped closer to him and whispered to his ears, "Xia, are you a lover of demon too? Don't worry, I will ever hurt Mixes or any other demons after this."

She leaned back with a down cast look. "I swear on my life, if I break this oath, let a bolt of lightning struck my soul and not be reborn," she swore.

A small bolt of lightning struck from heavens sealing her oath. A ruin formed in her palm, indicating her determination.

Xia was a little set back by this.

He had never seen a human that was willing to swear on their soul to not ever hurt a demon.

The little princess in his eyes had gained a little of his respect.

"Thank you, little one," he whispered with a soft smile.

"Hehe, my name is not little one. Its princess Felia montinigo," she said with a giggle.

"Felia, weren't you going to help me fold paper cranes?" Xia said with a smirk.

"of course, I... Might have lied about knowing to fold one. Will you teach me, I am willing to pray to you as my master," she said with a pout.

"Haha, silly girl, you don't have to. I'll teach you, see fold here." He started demonstrating how to fold a paper crane. His jade hands folded the paper, crease after another, creating a beautiful little crane in no time.

The princess followed along, but somehow her attempts resulted in a misshapen little ball.

"But where does this go? God, this is so hard," she whines rubbing her head.

He cheerfully laughed as he watched her unsuccessfully fold a paper crane.

"It goes here, try again," he said, folding another.

"Yes, princess, you are not folding this one right. You have to do it like this," the little girl that was folding cranes with them whispered.

Felia nodded her head and followed them both.. Soon she successfully folded a little paper crane of her own. It was not perfect as Xia's or elegant as the little girl's but somehow it would suffice.

"By the way, why are we folding cranes?" she whispered to his ears.

Xia cheerfully held a masterful creation of his. "These are going to be their transports," he said.

"Transports? How? these are just paper cranes," she said.

"They are, but not for long. With my powerful knowledge of runes I will be able to make it fly," he said with his nose up in the sky.

"Wow, my saviour is awesome," Felia whispered as she watched his fold.

Unknown to them, a shadow watched their exchange with a dark look.
