Chapter 101 - 101 - Guests?

The cave's jagged ceiling lit up like shining stars.

"Wow, what is that? Its shining like starts," Xia whispered in awe.

But Long paled gazing at this.

"Xia, we need to run. These are corpse butterflies!" he shouted and dragged his lover.

One by one, the shimmering butterflies flew down and fluttered towards them.

Long and Xia had no here else to go. They were both trapped with the stone door to their back.

Long gazed down at him and said, "I will burn them. In the meantime I want you to jump into that lake,"

Xia shook his head and hugged him tight. "no..no.. I won't,"

"Xia, please listen to me. They are virtually indestructible." Long shouted.

Corpse butterflies. A predatory species that feeds on any kind of flesh. They can't be killed by fire, water, or any kind of elements. There were only mentioned a few times in history books. They were the tools of destruction used by the great devils of Rakshasa realm. These dangerous creatures had not been spotted for thousands of years, so everyone believed that they had gone extinct during the great purge.

But the sight before him said otherwise.

There were thousands.... no, millions of them in this small cave.

Long summoned a fire ball and launched at them. the butterflies fluttered their wings and the attack deflected that easily.

He created a strong fire shield around them and open up a small path.

"Shit!" Long mumbled. "Xia run, I will hold them down," he shouted.

Xia gazed up at him with his eyes wide open. He really wanted to summon a water shield, but... but his water shield would cancel out his fire shield. Their powers were not compatible.

Just at that moment a small light flashed in front of his eyes and a strange vision emerged.

{It was a man looking just like Long was fighting a hoard of dragons. He gazed back at him and shouted, "Run, I will hold them down,"

A person flew towards him and stabbed him in his chest.}

Xia snapped back to reality. The vision lasted for just a second, but he felt as though it had been a lifetime. He hugged his little snake and burrowed his head in his shirt.

"No...No, I won't leave you... not again," He cried. "I do not wish to run,"

Long gazed down at his lover and closed his eyes. Right after he fell to the lower realm, his spiritual l energy was stripped to the bare minimum. But luckily he had that mud dragon's blood to restore a part for his spiritual energy.

Creating a fire shield took a lot of time and energy.

He could feel his spiritual energy draining rapidly. The shield was absorbing a lot. Earlier that day he had also given some spiritual energy to Felia and Raijin, so his energy was in deficit.

He hugged his lover close and waited for their demise.

But what they were waiting for did not happen.

A dark shadow enveloped the fire shield. The butterflies banging on it got instantly scotched by it.

Long gazed at this in shock. It was the undead ghoul. He had crawled out of the lake and was standing guard in front of them.

"Your highness, I will protect you with my life," The ghoul shouted and swung his sword over. A large amount of demonic energy flowed out of it and waved some of the butterflies away.

Long held his lover and whispered, "Stay here," he rushed over to the ghoul and shouted, "You, combine your power with mine,"

The ghoul nodded, and a swirl of dark energy drifted towards him. Long summoned a huge fire whip. The dark energy fused with it.

"Step back,"

The ghoul stepped out of the path.

Long whipped the huge whip across the cave. A lot of butterflies fluttering over to him got scotched and showered down.

Leaning back against the large door, Xia gazed at them with eyes wide open. Watching them fight together was awe-inspiring. That's when he knew that the there was a huge difference in talent between him and Long.

'I guess he was telling the truth, Long might be four thousand years old. But why was he in his baby form?'

He had heard before that best sometime return to their baby form when they are extremely weak or dying. With this thought, he remembered the little snake's long scar on his shoulder.

'Who hurt him so much? And where did he come from?' he thought as he gazed at them.

Xia sighed and leaned his head into the door.

"There are so many things that I am yet to find out about him," he whispered.

The butterflies had broken through the shields and started biting long's hands and legs.

"Long, watch out," Xia shouted and shot a water ball at them. The butterflies deflected his blow and still bit the little snake's hands.

Some of them rushed over towards Xia and swarmed over him.

He created a small shield around him. But the shinning butterflies kept banging on it. His back to the stone door, he closed his eye in fear.

The door behind him softly hummed and opened apart.

Surprised, Xia fell inside the newly opened gap.

"Oww," he cried and gazed at the slightly opened on the door. "Long, come inside... hey," He shouted, but the little snake was too busy whipping the butterflies.

"Long!" he shouted again. The little snake turned back and shouted, "Xia,"

Xia got up from the floor and ran towards the gap. But suddenly the door closed in front of him. "What... what is this? Open.... Long is still outside... LONG!" he shouted and banged against the door.

The door refused to budge.

"I will have to break it," he whispered.

Xia stepped back a little and summoned a water ball and shot at it. the door did not have even a scratch.

"Shit..." he whispered.

Outside the door, Long gazed back to find the door closed behind him. "Xia... no... Xia, where are you?" he shouted.

The butterflies were still attacking them. Long whipped them again. Suddenly they all created a small buzzing noise and flew back to the ceiling.

They all stuck to the wall and went back to sleep.

"Shit... shit.. shit," Long cursed and dashed towards the stone double door. He banged on it. "Xia, do you hear me? I am going to hit the door with my flames, move back," he said.

The long whip in his hand became smaller but thicker. It morphed into a sturdy chain in his hands. He whipped it at the door.

It banged and shook, but there was not even a scratch on it.

"Darn it," he shouted and whipped it again.

The ghoul stepped towards him and said, "Let me try your highness,"

He harnessed his long sword and slashed at it. Still, there was no damage to it.

Long cursed out loud. He really wanted to break down the wall in front of him. If he only he had his powers still he would have burned through this lousy wall.

Inside the door, Xia felt the door tremble. He held the door and tried to pry it open. It still wouldn't budge. He started panicking. "Long! Long baby," he shouted and banged on the door again. He threw another water ball at it. He started sobbing, gazing at the unmoving door.

Xia leaned his head into the door and sobbed. "Come on, please.... please... he is in danger. I.... I don't want to lose him,"

"Hmm, I didn't expect to see you so soon," a soft voice whispered behind him.

Wiping his eyes, Xia turned back and gazed at the new person. He was fully dressed in blue and white. But what was even more shacking was that his eyes were completely white.

"Who... Who are you?" Xia whispered.

"My name is Icarus, it's nice to finally meet you," the mysterious person said.

Xia rushed over to him and held his hands, "please.... please open the door. My lover is still out there,"

The man's eyes widened. "You have a lover? Oh, this is too shocking. He is not going to like this," he mumbled.

"Please. He is still out there. Open it," Xia begged.

The man gazed at him with a sad look. "Okay, I will. I am very interested to meet him too," Icarus whispered.

The door creaked and open behind him.

Xia rushed out and clung to his lover. "Oh god, are you hurt anywhere?" he whispered and started checking him all over.

The little snake cupped his face and kissed him. His hair was untied, covering almost all his face. He was covered in blood and ash.

"Long... ah... I thought I lost you," Xia cried.

Long wiped his wet cheeks and kissed him again. "Are you hurt?" he whispered and gazed at the man standing behind them.

The blue clothed man was smirking at him and waving.

"Come on in. I hate to make my guest stand out the door," Icarus said.

Long gazed at him through his hair. He hugged his lover close and hid him with his sleeve.

"Who are you?"
