Long Ki slowly breathed in her intoxicating fragrance. "why not? Either way, after marriage we get to share out bodies," he said without any reservation.
"What..... what.. don't be shameless, you stupid dragon, get off," Yukiya mumbled under her breath.
His subtle cider wood scent had become too intoxicating when he was half naked. She could hardly take a breath. So she struggled to put some distance between them.
Long Ki hugged her tightly. "I don't care. I don't want to move," he mumbled with a small smirk.
Yukiya peeked out at the shameless red dragon.
Taking his opportunity, Long Ki nuzzled next to her neck where her scent was the strongest. "So good," he whispered.
His long wet hair cascaded down and dripped cold water onto her neck. This made her skin tingle even more.
"Mnn," Yukiya softly moaned and pushed him away, but the stupid red dragon insistently hugged her tighter.
It gave her weird tingling feeling in the bottom of her stomach. She could not handle his cuddling behavior anymore. She pushed his heavy arm away and jumped out of bed.
"Dry your hair, idiot," She shouted and dashed out the door.
Long Ki watched the door in a haze. Just thinking about her faint moan, his blood started pooling down his body, between his legs. "ah, even her moans are beautiful," he whispered, hugging her blanket close. Her faint smell was still lingering on it.
The moment she left the room his ring finger started throbbing. Twirling the ring around his aching fingers he whispered, "Maybe this is a lucky thing after all,"
It was early morning, yet he was feeling extremely tired. "Mnnn, Yukiya...." Snuggling closer to the warm blanket, the red dragon went to a fitful sleep.
Outside, Yukiya ran through the muddy corridor. but even that could not stop her pounding heart.
She cupped her warm cheeks and rubbed them softly. "why is that guy so shameless?"
She couldn't help but remember his firm back and his powerful shoulders. 'no wonder my tummy hurt that day when he threw me onto his shoulders. they look like they are made of rocks or something,'
Her breath came out in pants as she reached the dinning hall. The kind old lady was there with her grandchildren, sorting through some herbs.
"Oh dear, why did you run through the wet corridor like that, you might have gotten hurt. I could have brought your food to your room," The old lady whispered as she patted her mud stained skirt.
Yukiya awkwardly held her hands and whispered, "no... its just... its too hot in there," but her random excuse was not effective.
The old lady softly chuckled and patted her red face. "Deary, it's okay. sometimes husbands want too much love, it's okay to say no." she whispered close to her ear.
Flustered, Yukiya shouted, "NO!! it's not that! its just that... that it really is hot in my room so I came out for fresh air,"
The old lady sublet glanced out the frosted windows, at the blessed rain that was pouring down. "oh okay, I'll arrange some ice cubes in your room," she whispered with a naughty smile.
Yukiya gazed at the direction the lady was looking at and blushed. Who was she trying to fool? Winter was approaching soon, and rain was pouring outside. It was impossible for her barely insulated room to be hot.
But thankfully the kind old lady did not dwell on that topic longer.
The old lady brought two bowls and the little children helped set the table. "I've made simple potato salad with porridge. Have some while it's hot. Oh and I will pack some for your husband as well. He looked quite tired this morning," she said with a cheerful smile.
Every time she uttered 'husband this husband that', Yukiya's heart stuttered for a second. Today's breakfast was more wholesome. The porridge was not watery, and the potatoes were roasted perfectly golden.
She held her chopsticks and poked the shiny little golden potatoes. She clamped one and brought it to her mouth, but it slipped before it could even reach her.
Biting her chopstick Yukiya was too deep in thoughts to even notice that it was empty. 'I really should not have lied that he is my husband. My heart can't handle anymore ah,'
The old lady saw this and chuckled loudly. 'ah young love is always so marvelous.' she thought with a fond smile.
She swiftly packed a wooden box with hot porridge and a small bowl full of potato salad.
"Ah yes, before I forget, I will bring some towels so that you can dry your husband's hair. He might get sick if it's not dried properly," the old lady whispered after she placed the wooden box on the table.
Before she could even realise, Yukiya had finished a bowl of porridge. she chomped on a piece of potato and mumbled, "how did he get that wet, anyway? even I was in the rain, but my hair is still moderately dry,"
"It's because he was running around and playing in the rain like a little kid," the old lady said, ladling her another bowl of porridge.
Yukiya gazed up at her with a shocked look. "he was playing in the rain? huh why so,"
"he looked extremely happy about something," The old lady chuckled out loud.
"Really?" Yukiya could almost imagine his cheerful laughs and stupid gestures. 'he really is childlike for a mighty prince,' she thought, gnawing on her wooden chopsticks.
"But what made him so happy though," she mumbled with a fond smirk.
The old lady patted her shoulders and pointed to the newly filled bowl. "he was squealing something about scent or you liking his scent. I'm not too sure,"
Yukiya froze. Her chopsticks slipped from her hands and clanked on the floor. "Scent... oh lord how could I forget," she hid her apple red cheeks.
From all the books she had read, she knew that Dragons are very possessive and usually mark things with their scent. 'then that scent.... he was trying to mark me,' she internally screamed.
'no wonder that scent was stirring me up. it's because of that stupid dragon,' she thought, twirling her fingers. 'wait.... when I asked him he looked like he didn't realize what he was doing. So was it instinctive? Or a false alarm. I need clarification,' she thought with resolve.
Yukiya gulped the lukewarm porridge and picked up the wooden box. "Thank you, I'll take this to him," she said and dashed out.
Rushing through the wet corridors, Yukiya had an unintentional smirk.
She opened the door slowly and peeked in. the windows were closed and the room was quite dark. "Long Ki, why didn't you open the windows. It's too stuffy in here," she mumbled and walked over to open them.
But a pair of warm hands hugged her from behind. "Yukiya..." he whispered as he nuzzled into her neck.
"Ah," she squealed in shock. He had hugged her when she had least expected, so she froze over. "What are you doing?" she mumbled.
The red dragon did not bother to reply. He kept nuzzling her neck and sniffing her.
'is he really scent marking me?'
Yukiya secretly sniffed her own arm. A faint smell of louts and cedar wood lingered on her skin.
As a water creature, her sense of smell was dampened on land. But still, it was much better than a regular human. Even so, the scent on her was overwhelmingly strong. Her legs weakened be it, she leaned back onto his sturdy body.
"hmmm you have my scent on you now.... this is incredible," Long Ki sniffed. his deep breathed caused small goosebumps on her skin making it more appealing. He just wanted to kiss every inch of her delicate skin.
Yukiya turned over and held his head. His head was abnormally hot, and he was also breathing irregularly. "you are sick,"
She pulled him to the nearby bed and made him lie down. Shuffling through her medical bag, she pulled out few medical bottles.
She fed him some pills and tucked him in.
"Hmm, wifey, dry my hair," Long Ki mumbled with his eyes closed.
"stupid guy, who is your wife ah?" Yukiya said, yet still she gently lifted his head and laid him on her lap. Summoning a small towel, she softly massaged his wet scalp.
He gazed up and softly caressed her face. "it's you," he said with a wide smirk.
Yukiya swatted his hand away with a humm. her hands never ceased as she softly massaged his scalp. "Hey you, did you just scent mark me?" she whispered looking down.
Long Ki twirled around her luscious hair that cascaded on his face. "Hmmm," he agreed. he even sniffed it to confirm that his scent is mixed with her.
Yukiya placed the towel on his face, hiding her dazzling smile from him. "Stupid dragon, weren't you against this marriage?"
He pulled the towel from his face and peered up at her. "initially yes, but now...I don't think I can imagine a life without you. I know it might be soon, but for a dragon an instant of attraction is more than enough, so you can trust my commitment...."
He blabbed on, but Yukiya kissed him before he could finish his sentence.
