Chapter 165 - 165 - Acceptance

Long Ki strode a little further but he could still hear her heart wrenching sobs even from this distance. His eyes, hazy from the tears, polling in them. "why..." He stumbled and held onto a something. His weak, legs could not hold his weight. "Why.... do I still love you?"

The tears he had been holding back flowed down without any control. A small sob escaped out of his mouth. He muffled and his mouth and cried his heart out. His one true love..... Had worked with a demon to bring him down.

"I should have been....careful. I should not have believed everything," he sobbed. Everything was suspicious about her. How she came to his cultivation cave when it was fully sealed... how she ran away from their wedding panicked....how she never clearly explained what her relationship with Xia was.

"Like a fool I even helped her. Why didn't I notice before? Was I so blind in love?" he cried. His heart ached and he could do nothing to rectify it. He held on and squatted next to the pink tree and cried his heart out.

He could still smell her faint lotus fragrance on his clothes. He could distinctly remember her cute smile...her angry expression....her kind characteristics. She even was kind enough to help the entire village.

"Wait, she is not that kind of person.....maybe I should have listened to her explanation," he sniffed softly.

He rushed back to find her standing wooden in a corner. He ran over to her and whispered, "can—you explain it to me.... make me understand. Lie if you have to. Because I don't want to lose you," he begged.

But her expression remained the same. She never once gazed at him. "I have nothing more to say to you."

Long Ki held her shoulders and made her face him. "Yukiya, what were you going to say. You said it was a misunderstanding. It is inst it? You don't know him, right?" he whispered with wavering eyes.

Yukiya never once met his eyes. "Nothing was a misunderstanding. Let go," she shrugged his hands away. But he hugged her tight.

"No.....in not ready to give up on you. no, no, no, Yukiya please. I beg of you, please say it's a lie." He cried.

His warm tears soaked into her dress. Her heart wavered for a second. 'No, Yukiya, don't start this again. He—he would never accept your son. So....it's better to let go...this way it would hurt less,' she thought, closing her eyes firmly. She pushed him away and wiped the wet tears off her shoulders. "Long Ki, don't touch me anymore. Don't talk to me anymore. Indeed, I did plan this with him. So stay away," she said and walked over to the demon.

Lian hua glanced at him with a frown. Yet he did not contradict her. He was too concentrated on creating a rift to bother about anything else. But.... "Look, she is not my son's rea.."

"Don't talk," Yukiya glared at him.

This shut the demon king up. He grimaced and went back to creating the rift. 'I still don't understand woman,' he thought mentally shaking his head.

"If you love him so much....it's better to be with him. I am but a stranger, I don't have the right to intrude with your relationship," he whispered softly next to her ear.

Yukiya wiped away the rogue tears that escaped her eyes. "I don't care. He is not fit to be my Xia' stepfather," she whispered. Her lover for her child exceeded her burning passion for him. "I would never let go of family for some fleeting of romance," she said loudly.

Long Ki heard this and sobbed. "So I am not a family? I am but a fleeting romance to you. The first moment you kissed me I already accepted you as my wife." he shouted. He wiped his tears with his sleeve and sniffed. "Its...it hurts so much Yukiya. Just kill me," he cried, holding onto his chest. He knelt on the ground and hid his face.

Yukiya muffled her sobs with her sleeve. She did not have the courage to look back. 'If I look at him....I would probably run back to him....I can't. I can't,' she thought, biting her cheeks.

Ling Hua softly nudged her with his elbow. "Look. I am happy that you took care of my son. But don't shy away from your likes and dislikes just because of Xia. He—he is an understanding child he would accept him. And that guy," he glanced back at the sobbing prince and sighed, "I think he loves you more than you think. Don't give up on him just because of momentary anger. And if he says that he won't accept your son, then woop his ass until he accepts him," he said with a chuckle.

Yukiya glanced at him with snot and tears. "Really? Do you think he loves me?"

"Really! Now go. Stop disturbing me with your obnoxious sobs," he said with a small smirk.

Yukiya glanced back at the red dragon and dashed over to him. She stood over him and whispered, "xia is my adopted son and a half demon. Would you be able to accept that and live with us as a....family?"

Long Ki glanced up with tears rolling down. "He.....is not your real son?"

Yukiya shook her head. "But I raised him as my own,"

"Then you don't like him," he pointed to the demon king standing in the corner.

"No, I just met him," she rolled her eyes.

Long Ki stood up. "Then you don't love him?"

"What part of 'I just met him' did you not understand him silly?" she whispered with her eyes narrowed.

Long Ki chuckled and wiped his tears away. "No woman has made me cry like this....you have to take responsibility and make me your.....family," he whispered.

Yukiya also giggled. She hugged him tight and burrowed next to his neck.. "Silly dragon, you are already part of my family," she whispered.
