Chapter 167 - 167 - Doomed Love Story

The ghoul glanced at the demon king. "Was that my name?" he whispered.

Lian Hua glanced at him casually. "Hmm, Pan Ru was your name, a young general with a brilliant future, but because you stood by the emperor so the heavenly officials threw you into a trap." He whispered whilst manipulating the sky lotuses to revolve simultaneously.

"The corpse butterfly's cave! It was a trap?" The ghoul shot up. He dashed to him and held his hands for affirmation.

"Hmm, you chose to stand by the wrong side and so you became an expendable chess piece to those bastards," Lian Hua said and flicked his hands off. 'Why doesn't he remember this? Does he remember that he had a duel with Icarus before? How much does he remember?'

Long Ki listened to all this silently, but he could help but refute. He had been in the heavens realm for so long so he knew how the minds of the officials work and those history books…..all depict Hong Lian as a murderous demon. He shot up and stood tall in front of the great demon. "Then what about your son, Hong Lian? I—I heard he was a notorious demon, that was why they....they did what they have to...."

Lian Hua stopped his formation and walked over to him. He stood head to head and glared at him. Slandering his son was the most a person could do to kindle his anger. "My son will not even kill a fly. He was Kind that was his greatest 'notorious act' they speak of. Kindness for those bastards does not take you anywhere," he said with tears polling his eyes.

Yukiya stood by, but she could not watch them fight with each other. She walked close and stood in-between them. "But why was Xia reborn after so long?"

"It's because.." the demon stuttered.

The ghoul helped him out. "It's because Wei Long was born again. They loved each other so much that during their final moment they promised to live or die together in all their different births," he sighed. He could distinctly remember his highness sobbing over his lover's dead body. Later, he vanquished his own life to follow after his lover.

"How come you remember them but not about yourself?" Lian Hua whispered with his eyes narrowed. This really did confuse him. How could a person remember about someone else so well but forget about themselves completely? 'He is suspicious. He was once a heaven's official he can't be trusted so easily,' he thought vigilantly.

The ghoul noticed his glare and shrugged. "Don't know, I guess their love was too powerful for me to forget,"

"Theirs was doomed from the beginning. That's why I told Icarus to warn Xia not to be with him." Lian Hua sighed and went back to his formation. The lotuses all pulses quickly, creating small waves of energy. The entire space in the middle of the enchantment trembled and vibrated visibly.

"Be with whom? Him? Is it Wei Long? A guy? Xia already has a lover?" Yukiya ran after him and stood close. Her curiosity was piqued as to who Xia was with, but she was not able to uncover his identity. She glanced at the small blue mark on her forearm and bit her lips. 'This bastard, when I find him I am definitely going to beat him back and blue. How dare he touch my Xia without my consent? And with the amount of time this was blinking, they were dong many things other than kissing. Ahhh, this is pissing me off,' she raged silently and scratched at the lotus imprint.

Long Ki dashed over to Yukiya and stood in between Lian and her. He held her hands back and softly caressed the red mark.

"Yep, he does. Yes, he is a guy. And yes, he is Wei Long's reincarnation." The ghoul answered.

Long Ki stood close, analysing about everything they said. "Why is their love doomed?" he added in.

"Obviously, because they are from different races. People would not tolerate their union. They might even try to hurt him," Lian Hua whispered with a sad smile.

Long Ki shook his head. "Heaven is not like that anymore. Everyone is peaceful," He whispered.

"Really? A very peaceful realm? their youngest, most brilliant prince, was shot down to the human realm by his own people. Is that what you call as peaceful?"

He had no words to refute. There had been small internal conflicts being between the officials but won't be too bad enough to hurt the royals. 'Or will they,' everyone thought Aotian was attacked by demons but... how can a demon enter a protected land. 'There should be an insider,' he thought, biting his lips.

Lian Hua patted his shoulders. "Smart man. You understand, right? Ten thousand years ago, the same thing happened. I'm scared that his story is repeating itself. I don't want to lose my son again," he said with a frown.

"I won't let that happen. Whomever Xia is seeing I will chase him with a rake," Yukiya declared with a glare.

"Uuuummmm, that is not possible, but you can try. He can be quite resilient." Ling Hua scratched his chin. 'That kid did not run away even when a powerful demon like Icarus chased him; this little woman can't do anything to chase him away,'

"I don't think it's possible either," The ghoul agreed because he knew his highnesses temperament.

"What! Don't underestimate the power of a mother? I can very well woop that guy's ass as well," Yukiya shouted and summoned a wok from her space. Long Ki tried to hold her down, but she was already fired up to take on her invisible prey.

The ghoul sweated. 'Ah, the way she is talking about his royal highness is making me sweat.. But she is his mother-in-law I can't do anything about it,' he resigned to his fate and sat down quietly. 'Sorry your highness, I can't help you with this,'
