"Mrs. Maddie Gray?" The nurse calls out Maddie's name to which Maddie responds. Vince and Yve follow her to the clinic but are stopped by the nurse.
"I'm sorry but only the patient is allowed inside." The nurse informs them.
"But I thought its fine to come along with the patient?" Yve asks the nurse.
"Yes, it's highly recommended. Although during the actual treatment, it's best for the patient to come meet the doctor alone. You can watch and listen to the therapy in another room." The nurse explains.
"Good! Please lead the way." Vince smiles at the nurse as the latter guides them towards the room.
They walk passed the room where Maddie just went in as the nurse opens the room beside it. Once the light is turned on, Yve realizes that this is an observation room almost the same as the one SkyMu has.
"Please have a seat. In this room, you can hear and see everything that's happening during the session. The patient doesn't know this room exists. So we would like to request to keep these things a secret. You will be called by the doctor after their session." The nurse explains further.
"Thank you." Yve thanks the nurse as Vince opens a seat for her before sitting down himself.
"What would you like? Juice, coffee, tea biscuits?" The nurse offers them some food to eat.
"We'll just have water. Thanks." Yve politely informs the nurse who leaves them behind and returns a few minutes later with two glasses of water.
The couple focuses on the session in front of them.
"Miss Maddie, good afternoon!" The doctor greets Maddie and urges her to take a seat.
"Good afternoon, doctor!"
"How was your week?" The doctor starts to ask question about her schedule to relax Maddie's mind.
"It was pretty busy but fun."
"What makes you say that it was fun?"
Maddie pauses for a few minutes and smiles as she recalls the previous days before giving an answer to the doctor who is patiently waiting for her.
"I created new designs and it's more colorful and diverse. Seeing my finished designs makes me feel relaxed and happy."
"It seems that there's more. Can you share it with me?" The doctor notices the hesitation in Maddie's face which makes the former curious on what her patient is hiding.
"I have been wondering how does it feel to have a daughter and you've seen the lady who was with me last week? She's my daughter-in-law. At first, I wasn't expecting much from her. She's sweet and all and I can see how much she loves my son but I never expected her to care so much of me. She wants to have my office renovated with a bedroom inside so that I can just rest there. Most of all, today my son came with us here."
"Why does it make you happy that your son came?"
"My son is a very busy man. I'm not sure if it's true that he came on his own or his wife told him to. Nevertheless, knowing that I'm not going through this alone gives me a boost."
The doctor looks at the one way window where Yve and Vince are watching and smiles at them.
"That's good, Now, let's recall what happened in Paris."
"Before we start, I have to be honest with you, doctor." Maddie's face turns serious.
"Go ahead."
"I haven't told anyone not even my son on what really happened at Paris." Maddie's revelation is a shock to the doctor knowing that her loved ones are listening just behind the glass.
Yve stares at Vince asking for confirmation.
"Yes. I was able to put the events piece by piece with the clues left behind as well as through the actions of my enemies." Vince answers her wife while looking intensely. This could be the chance he has been waiting.
"The enemies you're talking about…."
"Don't worry. That time it was from the business. I just never thought that this certain person resolves to using unethical means. I respected him after all." Vince honestly expresses his thoughts on the event.
Without asking more, Yve focuses back on Maddie's therapy.
"I'm scared. I'm afraid to recall the fear and pain I felt that time. There's the physical pain but more than that, I thought I will never get to see my son again. All these wishes like meeting my grandchildren and playing with them came flashing to me at that time." Maddie's tears start to fall from her eyes.
"I'm even breaking down in front of you. How much more in front of them, in front of my son and his wife?"
The doctor just listens attentively to Maddie and let her express her thoughts on the matter.
"I don't want them to seek revenge and be blinded by anger, especially my son. Even if he doesn't say it much, I know and I feel that he really loves me. As we speak, he might have been planning to take revenge in a decent way and then so be it."
"I understand. As a mother, protecting your child and his future will always be first." The doctor finally comments and hands a tissue to Maddie.
"That's true. As for my wish of having a grandchild, I don't want to pressure my daughter-in-law. She's been through many things. She's strong but I know she's longing for a mother's love. I can wait when she's ready to bless me with little boys and girls." Maddie wipes her tears as she flashes a smile once more.
"We can cut the events into parts. You can just tell me anything that seems fine for you." The doctor tries to return back to their purpose and looks into Maddie's source of fear.
Subconsciously some patients avert the topic into something else and Maddie's case of talking about her dream of grandchildren may be an example. Maddie isn't at fault here though. Her mind is avoiding the topic as a defense mechanism which the doctor finds normal.
"I went to Paris for a fashion show. It was finally the night before the show and as I have practiced, I let my secretary handle the last minute check on the venue while I did the run through of the gowns and suits from my hotel room." Maddie recalls the things that happened which cause Vince and Yve to swallow an invisible lump in their throats.
"Then all of a sudden I heard a knock on my hotel room."
