Chapter 64：Justice and Forgiveness

The jury had started and set the crowd into order but a little while, when the declaration of the case emerged in their ears, almost everyone whispered to one another, collating ideas, empathizing to the first case ever raised on trial.

One of the elders stood up and faced the crowd.

" Who among you is in favor for this man to leave the heavens temporarily and live as a human with his wife? Raise a hand, please."

The crowd was reluctantly silent, but when Nomin's soul in Godem's immortal body started to raise a hand, the majority followed.

" Who among you will empathize to this soul to live within a human being's body (Seb's body) or another way?"

" As for me, it isn't a bad idea. It is even less painful to Seb's soul. However, it is more painful to Godem's soul - but look, Seb's soul isn't even jealous knowing his body was with the present husband, only the soul belongs to the past husband for three times. The tempo is even heavenly." The first angel started in defense of Godem.

" But it's adultery, right? We're always living with the present, even angels don't live in their past where memories have been erased. So the present husband Seb has a lawful right over Godem's soul, isn't it?" One of the angels revealed his thoughts.

" Wait, you mean, it's all Godem's soul who committed a crime and coveted the wife of another husband? Did he choose it? Did he know that she was her wife? I guess not. If you try to analyze it well, it's the angels' federation who pushed him to recall everything and started to feel human for her, after all." The third angel explained.

" Godem's soul in Seb had a high sense of respect. Despite God's favor on him but he did not abuse it. I mean, we are angels but we are pro-growth, understanding and forgiveness. He even said that it's just for this lifetime they both have. It's where a real justice I guess sets in, when we see the brighter side in a darker situation. Godem in Seb was even righteous for retaining that body as the present husband of his wife has to live with; as long that his soul would live with her to be a husband too. The present husband was happy seeing his body with her and the past husband too become more excited in loving her without even reclaiming his body from Nomin. Things like this, they give way, it's not sharing, since the human Seb's soul has no chance of getting back anymore. Look at that angle carefully...it was horrendously difficult. The fourth angel appealed.

" The wife's feeling is also important here, if whom she chooses and if why and if I'm not mistaken, she is into Godem's soul." The fifth angel concluded.

The council of elders in front whispered among themselves and gave Godem's soul to pproach Nomin.

"Thank you, I mean it." Godem's soul sadly blurted.

" It's nothing. But the three of you were deeply hurt. Karla had been in pain all her life, that she even did not know why. When I started seeing all these things I thought that it's all biblical - the sins of the parents, where children suffers and received all the punishment. Evils kept looking for her as bait to her parents and that even happen for a couple of centuries. It kept on happening, until this lifetime. I don't know but maybe the elders will bless you both with this final chance." Nomin looked at him and was tearful.

Moments later, one of the elders called all of their attention as spoke.

" Starting today, our blessing to the couple Godem in Seb and his wife - shall be theirs. Seb's soul in Nomin's body shall leave to replace Godem's missionary activities in heaven. Since Demido was back to scratch in hell, the couple are now allowed to live in accordance to their time where no evil can destroy them. In the contrary, Godem's power will still be his reward but he can only use it when needed. The darkness may strike them again but the heaven's will protect the couple's family. The marriage they have just celebrated shall I proclaimed as recognized and just within the scope of a lawful union. Besides, they'd been wed three times in the past, what else will the council say against it? Nothing. It was more than too much. This man now in the name of Godem shall go back to his wedded wife and can hopefully create a beautiful family and is forgiven. Before this crowd, Godem's soul had already received forgiveness as this second parchment mentioned. Stated here that he did nothing and thought nothing against our law. Only his affection and desire to be with her was the strongest. Godem's soul...peace be with you, you are allowed to go now." Then the elder smiled at him, and a huge light swallowed the crowd.

Godem closed his eyes and when he opened it again he saw her in front of him - crying. He immediately moved, seated and hugged her so tight. The more she sobbed and was very thankful to God. They were both speechless and only their heartbeats created some noise out of their tears of happiness. Then a little while he wiped her tears with his palm and said.

" My dear...we are now permitted by the heavens, they bless us already and we no way to worry any longer. They freed me and we can go forward with our lives, starting today." She even cried and hugged him once more.

" Thank God." Karla whispered while her tears flowed on her cheeks.

Minutes later, Seb in Nomin knocked the door, immediately entered and seated beside them.

"I'm leaving...God bless." Then he left.
