Rutherford chuckled when he saw the look of admiration on his child's face.
The suggestion that he had placed before her was something that had come to his mind while they were still in their Summer estate during the plague.
However, he had found no reason to mention this as everything had been sailing smoothly until now.
So when Yvonne had disclosed her intentions of moving the business to the noble market as well, he knew that things would have to change.
Expansion of any business indicated that it was worthy of advancing after standing strong in this vicious sector of the Kingdom's economy.
Therefore, when he heard Yvonne mentioning her desire to expand, he knew that change was inevitable.
Marcus could not be there to help her out and he too would be unable to lend his support in this matter.
While he suggested that she personally look after the business that would be located in Amarthea, his words had a different meaning which his child had succeeded in deciphering.
"That way, you can still personally look after CLOVER without having to reveal your identity as VC and also not hire some outsider who might not be loyal to you." The Earl proclaimed with a confident grin which his daughter shared with him.
Seeing this pair of father and daughter grinning from ear to ear, the rest were beginning to get frustrated as their curiosity had been left unattended for too long.
"Vonny, what is it?" Howard interrupted the harmonious atmosphere between them as he was being left out of the discussion.
Yvonne chuckled when she saw the sulking expression her elder brother had on his face and decided to explain this matter to them as well.
"Papa first said that I would be overworking myself with this new venture and later asked me to look after it myself." She repeated the same words her father had said earlier.
Everyone nodded since they were right here when the Earl had uttered those words and waited to see what else she would say that might help them understand what they seemed to have missed.
The little girl then began to explain what her father had implied by using those words.
While he was saying that she would be overworking herself, he contradicted himself by asking her to look after the business in the Capital herself.
On one side he was worried that she would tire herself out but immediately, he suggested that she handle the latest venture personally.
This had confused her at first but soon she realized what his words meant.
"Papa had come up with a way to achieve both those tasks without any backlash." She announced and Rutherford gave his nod of acceptance.
Yvonne then smiled before finally unveiling the idea that her father had just put in her mind as well.
"The solution Papa found was that I would need to find someone who can take care of my business on my behalf and be loyal to me, following my every command." She reminded them of the criteria for the second-in-command she wished to work with.
This succeeded in bringing a look of understanding to the rest seated here.
"And I know just the person for the job!" The little girl added with a victorious grin on her face which made Howard and Rutherford chuckle.
On the other hand, the Valente men were still uncertain of where she was going with this.
"But who could that be?" Roman questioned, frowning slightly as a face that matched these descriptions had popped up in his mind.
He still had his misgivings against this person which had not yet been resolved so he hoped that his little cousin wasn't referring to the person that had come to his mind.
Yvonne had noticed the strange expression he had but did not think too much about it.
Instead of answering his question, she turned to face the door and called out the name of the one she had chosen to fulfill this vital role.
"Jax," Her voice was loud and clear, enough to reach those standing outside this room.
Since the two butlers, old and young, were standing right outside the Parlor after their Masters had entered it, they heard the Young Miss's voice with ease.
Butler Limo held the door open, gesturing to Jax that he needed to hurry inside.
The younger butler did not waste any time and stepped into the Parlor where all eyes were fixed on him.
However, he did not shy away but turned towards his Boss, curious to see why she had called him in.
"If I assign additional tasks to you, would you be able to handle them well?" Yvonne proposed without beating around the bush.
Though she was his Master and he, her butler, she wished to seek his opinion in this matter.
If he decided to refuse her offer then she could only search for the next best option for this purpose.
'Though I hope he agrees.' She gazed at him with eager eyes which displayed her desires to the one it was being aimed at.
When Jax had first agreed to work for Yvonne, all he wanted was a place to call his own and minimal work with steady pay.
However, after entering the St. Claire family's roster of servants, he had been put through hellish tasks and intense training.
His position as the Young Miss's Butler was different from the others who served the noble family.
Therefore, his responsibilities varied as well which he had gotten accustomed to after the first few months.
Thankfully, the training had ended and he was able to breathe in peace while working leisurely in this place.
The pay was great and the amenities were incomparable to what he might expect if he had found a mediocre job in some other place.
Therefore, he had been quite satisfied with how things were going in his life right now.
"What kind of tasks?" He responded with another question as the information he received wasn't enough for him to make a decision right away.
Roman's brows furrowed at his word while Rutherford narrowed his eyes.
Everyone here had seen how Yvonne and Jax interacted which was not quite like how a conventional Master and Butler would.
While Jax was respectful and did everything Yvonne asked of him, there wasn't any reverence or blind worship in his eyes.
After all, unlike Butler Limo who dedicated his life to Rutherford after being saved from a traumatizing incident in his youth, nothing of that sort had taken place with Yvonne and Jax.
They were simply a pair of employer and employee who forgot the distance between their positions and conversed with each other as equals at times.
Therefore, they knew that Jax would sometimes speak to Yvonne in a casual manner like one would with someone they were close to.
The little girl too never found anything odd with it which gave the rest no reason to butt in.
However, never had they thought that instead of accepting the offer his Master had given him, Jax would inquire further about it.
While the rest had not expected this to take place, Yvonne had as she knew just how lazy Jax could be at times.
To learn that he would now have to take up additional responsibilities might have come to him as a surprise that he did not appreciate too much.
'But I know how to change his mind.' She smirked which made the Butler straight his back.
Every time his Boss smirked, someone would be in trouble and it looked like today was his turn.
"You get to meet new people, build up a cordial relationship with them, and manage a few employees as well." She explained his duties, replying to his earlier question.
Hearing these new tasks, Jax did not feel enthusiastic as they would only increase his workload.
Right now, most of his duties comprised of waiting on his Boss, tending to her etcher's needs, and finally interacting with the other servants.
The last task was something he had taken up of his own accord after discovering that his Boss liked to know of the people surrounding her.
Thus Jax, an excellent conversationalist, had begun engaging his coworkers for a few minutes of daily interaction which helped him gain all sorts of insider information from them.
This information was later reported to his Boss who often praised him for his efforts.
Therefore, hearing that his tasks which were simple and effortless now would be increasing, he did not wish to take her up on this offer.
"Of course, you will get an additional salary if you accept this position. A sizable one at that." Yvonne mentioned in passing but the sly glint that flashed across her amethyst eyes told otherwise.
She knew that if there was something that motivated her Butler then that was money.
He preferred money over leisure and she was using this weakness of his to her advantage.
Marcus caught the butler's heart wavering and snickered, applauding his niece who was capable in many ways.
As Yvonne had predicted, Jax was beginning to lean towards accepting this new job which would increase his salary.
'What does he even need all that money for?' Howard rolled his eyes as everything Jax required was granted by their family.
Most of the servants sent their salary back to their families who lived away from them and depended on this salary for their survival.
However, Howard knew that Jax had no one who depended on him which made him wonder why money was such an important factor of consideration for him.
If Jax or Yvonne had heard of his query, they would have the same answer.
Only a fool would not like money.
