Chapter 766 - The Next Party

Yvonne's spirits were much better when the time came for the next party that she would have to attend.

However, on the day of the party, she heard another news which made her smile fade.

"Do you have to leave so soon?" She muttered her inquiry which caused her uncle, Marcus Valente smile as he patted her head.

"It's not good to leave Father alone any longer and don't worry, we will leave after attending the party." He explained and promised to stay until the party ended today.

Yvonne understood that Grandfather Valente must be missing his family and when Raylene reminded her that they would be meeting again soon, the little girl nodded in defeat.

She quite liked her uncle who was an interesting man to interact with, or maybe it was because they had similar minds but Yvonne liked spending time with him whenever she could.

Therefore, when she was told at breakfast that they would be leaving for their fief this afternoon, she was saddened at this news but there was someone who was rejoicing.

'No more fighting for Vonny's attention.' Howard smirked which made the twins raise their brows but they did not retaliate.

After all, they had a surprise for their little cousin, and spoiling it would be no fun.

Thus they let him gloat all he wanted right now to intensify the shock he would soon be receiving.

Howard had no clue about this surprise and by the sly glint that passed through the twins' eyes, it surely would not be a good surprise for him.

After coaxing her daughter, Raylene announced that the tea party they would attend today would begin at ten in the morning which gave them an hour to get ready and reach their destination.

Once breakfast had come to an end, everyone headed back to their rooms and reassembled in the Parlor only when it was time for them to leave.

Ten minutes before the time mentioned in the invitation cards they had received, the two families were in their carriages, ready to begin their short journey.

A few minutes later, Yvonne smiled at her brother when he helped her out of the carriage once they had reached their destination.

Today, she was in a violet dress that matched her hair and pretty black shoes which made her look taller than she actually was.

Her hair was left loose, cascading down her shoulders and only a single hairpin was used to hold one side of her hair from falling onto her face.

There were carriages entering this estate behind theirs so the Valente and St. Claire families did not wait around but headed in after the servant who was here to guide them.

With the children walking in the front, the two families soon entered the venue for today's tea party.

This was the same place that Yvonne had visited for her first tea party in this world, the garden of the Kiron estate.

Today's party was organized by Marchioness Patricia Kiron with the help of her two daughters, Aleena and Rika.

When the guests present heard the names of the two families being mentioned, they turned in the direction of the entrance.

Some smiled while others had sullen looks on their faces but we're quick to conceal their dissatisfaction before anyone could notice it.

Aleena and Rika came forward to meet their friend and so did Jacob which did not look pleasant in someone's eyes.

The Yona family had been the first to arrive today and much to Jacob's dismay, the young lady of that family had been stuck to him ever since she had made her appearance.

Therefore, when he saw the St. Claire family entering the garden, he took the chance to escape under the guise of greeting them.

Cecily had experienced the same happening every time a new family arrived but seeing who it was this time made her furious.

'Here she is again!' She grunted in annoyance then sulked when she saw Jacob and his sisters being kind to that other girl.

Was it not enough that she has the attention of so many people?

Why did she have to snatch her beloved's attention away from her?

These sorts of questions were swarming Cecily's mind right at this moment.

Yvonne was ignorant about the complaints in the older girl's mind as she greeted the three Kiron siblings who had reached them.

Marchioness and Marquess Kiron had appeared soon enough which made her curtsy to them as well.

She could see numerous familiar faces and some that she had not seen for a long time were also present today.

Once she had greeted the host and hostess, she went along with the Kiron sisters while Jacob accompanied the twins and Howard.

Duchess Tanner waved at Yvonne from a distance and the child returned the wave.

It appeared that the Duchess was busy in a conversation with a few other ladies so she did not disturb them but followed the two girls.

As she scanned her surroundings, she found that they had reached the place where the other girls had been gathered.

Cecily followed after them when she saw that Jacob had gone to spend time with the boys as it would not be appropriate for her to join them.

"Miss Yvonne!" A happy voice greeted her the moment she reached this group of girls, most of whom were around the same age as her.

Yvonne smiled in surprise when she saw that it was none other than Silvia Zavanth, her pen pal who had been at her fief ever since the plague had struck the Kingdom.

Silvia was holding the hand of a toddler who giggled when he saw the new person coming closer to him.

"This is my younger brother, Tatum." The doting elder sister introduced while making the boy wave his hand at the young girl.

Yvonne smiled at this sight while the other girls giggled at how adorable that boy was.

Tatum was still a babbling baby when the plague had begun but now, he was able to mumble incoherent words, proving that he would start speaking soon.

He was able to walk so their mother had allowed Silvia to bring him along to introduce him to her friends.

'And her elder brother is in that direction.' Yvonne declared with confidence since she had been receiving a heated glare coming from a certain direction.

Lifting her head, she glanced at that place, and just as she had expected, Robin Zavanth, the eldest child of Viscount Zavanth was leering at her.

She never could decipher why this young man bore such a grudge against her but it would always act up when she was close to Silvia.

Shaking her head while looking right at him, she ignored his surprised reaction and turned away.

Robin was standing with Topher which was also where Jacob was leading the boys who had just arrived.

Witnessing this sight, Topher snickered at his friend from the Royal Academy, who just like another close friend of his, was at the receiving end of her disapproving head shakes.

Thinking of this friend, the heir of the Tanner family sighed as he was unable to attend today's party due to recent personal reasons.

Before he could focus on these thoughts, a group had reached their location.

It was Jacob who had brought the boys over and Howard came forward to greet him which had diverted his attention successfully.

He did not get a chance to speak to Topher during the Tanner party so Howard decided to use this opportunity to make up for the shortcomings of that day.

Topher too was happy to converse with him and this group of boys were soon too busy to notice the sight of Taylor, sneaking away and heading in the opposite direction.

Topher, Robin, and Howard were discussing certain swordsmanship tactics while the Valente twins and Jacob were talking about academic matters.

Thus no one realized that one person from their group, who had been silent until now, had vanished from their sight.

'Time to meet Vonny!' Taylor grinned as he headed towards the group of girls, not caring about what the others might think.

"Brother Taylor!" Yvonne greeted when she saw the young boy near her group.

Silvia had been speaking about her little brother until now but noticing the arrival of this new person made her turn speechless in no time.

'Oh, how could I forget…' The girl with amethyst eyes glimmered in mischief as she alternated her gaze between Taylor and Silvia.

One seemed to like the other while the other was oblivious and as always, was focusing on his little sister he had met after a few days.
