Chapter Sixteen: NEVER GOOD ENOUGH

"What the fuck is going on here." Emily's angry voice broke the quiet night.

Sky's eyes losing it's sparkles once again to be replaced by an unending rage. He looked between Stefan and the strange woman a wave of anger so profound filled his heart so much that it could burn a house down.

"Who the hell is she?" Sky demanded, shooting a death glare at Stefan. "Stefan!"

Stefan flinched by that name, this has to be the first time Sky had ever called him by that name and somehow it doesn't sound right. Stefan stood torn between two worlds. Loose Emily and come out to his family then lose them too or keep Emily and hurt Sky even more. Who knew what the boy would turn into this time. It wasn't as if it was any easier on his part.

"Baby-" Stefan faced Sky who scoffed and turn away from him.

"Baby? Isn't he, your cousin?" Emily's disgusted tone shook both boys.

"Oh shut the fuck up bitch. Who the hell are you by the way?" Sky threw back at the stunned woman's face. Emily barked a bitter laugh.

"Really?" Emily asked Stefan. She was beyond shocked.

"You fucking answer me right now!" Sky was losing his sanity, he could not believe Stefan had brought another lady home.

"I'm his fiancee and shouldn't you be ashamed of yourself?" Emily had seen enough to know what's going on. She felt bad for both boys. Whatever they had going on is vile and she is not ready to be a part of it.

"Baby let me expla-" Stefan tried but Sky beat him to it.

"Explain what? All my life all I ever did was for you to notice me, but you kept pushing me away. I thought you were been honest with me a while ago. I guess I would never be good enough." Sky reached for his board and raced down the street completely ignoring Stefan's cry to stop.

"Em--" Stefan looked at the crying lady.

"You call him 'Baby'? never for once have you ever tried to call me anything but my name. You hardly say you love me, so this is why?" Emily broke down in hot steams.

"Em please--" Stefan's voice cracked.

"Can't do this," Emily cried, reaching for the diamond ring on her finger. "You disgust me. How could you?" She slapped him hard across the face. "What the-" Emily stared down at him. "Is that cum on your jeans and since when do you spot such a hard boner?" She pointed at the hardness and the obvious tint on Stefan's jeans.

"Emily, Sky did this to me. He's the only one to have ever done this to me. I can't live without that boy, I've tried. I'm sorry!"

"God, all these years you've been fine and you've lied to me?" She wiped at her eyes.

"I never lied to you, you were there and you saw my struggle. How could you say I lied to you?"

"Goodbye Stefan, I don't want to ever see you again." Emily threw the ring at him and stormed off, her bitter words hanging in the still night. Stefan's head spun as he made his way back home.

This is the time. It was now or never. He was tired of hiding, crying, missing and fighting.

So tired.

With shaky legs Sky ran into the house, shocked and surprised eyes turned towards where the boy had fallen on.

"Sky!" His mother's worried voice broke into his thoughts but he wouldn't have that. He got up on shaky legs and sought the one person he really needed until he saw the older man in the far end of the living room talking to his sons. Sky ran into the man's vision and hugged him for dear life. Papa Jo knew the reason behind the whipping boy so he held and ran soothing circles on Sky's back, assuring the boy that he's got him.

"Not good enough." Sky whispered shakily. "Never good enough." He choked on a sob. The house got quiet, too quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone has questions lurking behind their searching eyes yet none tried to ask.

The door burst open and Emily stood to stare at all of them, tears coming down in hot fast waves, for a minute there she had thought she would be a part of this great family, but how she had thought wrong.

"Em-" Mrs. Vivianne tried but the lady was already running over to the table to pick up her bag.

"I'm sorry Mrs. V but I really have to go," Emily spoke hesitantly and kissed the worried woman's tears stained cheeks. "Thank you for dinner," She turned tear-filled eyes to the waiting crowd and waved her gratitude. "Thank you all for having me." With that said, she was out the door and running for her dear life. Emily has no idea what the family has going on, but whatever it was she sure as hell did not want to be a part of it.

"Stefan!" His mother ran into his arms as soon as he came into the house. The night has been filled with so much drama and yet none knew the reason why. Stefan had his clothing's in shreds, he had torn his shirt and unbuckled his belt, his hair was disheveled both from Sky's fingers digging into them and his own hand pulling at it in self-loathing.

Stefan searched the house until his eyes fell on the one person that has owned him so thoroughly that his life would forever be a mess if he didn't give in. Sky was still crawled up in a ball on the floor, his hands holding his head upon the older man's knees. Stefan's gaze locked with his grandpa's and a comforting smile fell off the old man's lips but Stefan was too weak to even muster a thin smile.

"Dad," Stefan turned bloodshot eyes to look at his father and the rest of the house quiet down at his voice. Stefan was beyond scared but this needed to be done.

He was tired.
