Chapter 252. Helping out (1)
The shooting of «Slayers» was going great with most of the actors doing their best for each scene.
The atmosphere of the set was also good because the whole cast had already got to know each other and they were all friendly.
Some of the actors had known each before or had met in some events, but the majority of the actors had never met each other.
It was especially true for Ren.
As his career had just kicked off 21 months ago, he was still unknown to many celebrities.
But he was able to make friends with them quickly. It was especially true with Hou Qian and Tang Lan.
The heavenly king, Hou Qian has a rather friendly disposition and there were times when he would seek out Ren to discuss scenes.
It was somewhat true for Tang Lan too.
She was also friendly with Ren but Ren can see that she was being friendly just to make some connections with him.
But Ren didn't say anything about it.
As the rising star of the entertainment industry, many people want to make connections with Ren.
Having more connections was also beneficial in the entertainment industry. That's why Ren was also friendly with Tang Lan.
He knew Li Xinru well from the start.
Among the leading cast, the only person Ren was not familiar with was Na Wen.
It was not like there was any animosity between them. Ren even tried to talk actively with Na Wen from time to time.
But the attitude of Na Wen was never friendly towards Ren.
It was not like Na Wen was being rude with Ren but he was also not nice to him. There would be many times when he would cut off their conversations.
He was the person Ren has the least interactions with in the whole cast.
"Do you want to practice the scene together?"
As they were doing a scene together next, Ren decided to seek out Na Wen for practice.
During shoots, it was not rare for actors to practice together before a particular scene. It lessens the chance of NG.
But most of the top actors would refrain from it, of course, Ren was not like that.
That's why he seeked out Na Wen for the scene.
"No, I think I will be okay."
Although his intentions were good, Na Wen didn't like them and refused them with a stern expression on his face.
'Sigh!'
Ren sighed softly but there was still a placid expression on his face.
"The scene will be one of the important scenes. It would be bad if we messed it up."
"What do you mean? Do you mean I will mess up the scene?"
Ren shook his head when he heard that. There was no need to get angry over some words. He looked at Na Wen's face and replied softly.
"I am not saying that. You are misinterpreting my intentions. Today, some of the supporting actors have already messed up some scenes."
"I, I know that."
Na Wen said with some shame on his face. He was one of the actors who has messed up their scenes today.
"In that case, if we also messed up our scene, then Director Chen Pu will direct all of his anger on us. You will certainly not like it, right?"
Na Wen gulped when he heard that.
He doesn't even remember how many times Director Chen Pu has directed his anger on him. The number of times he had been scolded was well over 100.
It was to the point that he had been getting nightmares of Director Chen Pu scolding him.
'Should I accept?'
He thought in his mind.
Honestly, there was nothing wrong with accepting Ren's words and practicing the scene together but Na Wen was jealous of Ren from the start.
Both of their ages were similar but Ren was more popular than him, even though Na Wen started acting earlier than Ren.
Originally, Na Wen was from a wealthy family, so he had grown up in a protective environment.
After he entered the entertainment industry, he finally realised the reality of life. It was hard for him to cope with all the schemes and backdoor deals of the industry.
He was already frustrated with it.
Then, he met Ren who was more talented and famous than him.
Na Wen would be scolded a few times a day by Director Chen Pu but there would always be praises for Ren. That naturally made him develop an inferiority complex.
"Sorry but I think I'm fine on my own."
Filled with jealousy, Na Wen refused Ren's offer and quickly left.
'What's up with him?'
Ren thought standing alone but in the end, he sighed while looking at the screenplay in his hand.
* * *
"Do you think she will be fine?"
"I don't know. She had been locked up in her room for two weeks now. Honestly, I'm feeling really worried about her."
"You should have told us earlier about her being locked up in the room?"
The members of Starlights were talking among each other. The topic of the discussion was Lily who they hadn't seen for sometime.
It was because Lily had locked herself up in her room to work on the song.
It's already been two weeks since they had last seen her and their hearts were filled with immense worry for their band leader.
"I wanted to tell you all but I had promised her to not tell you anything."
The keyboardist, Ma Li said in protest.
She was the only member of the band who had known about Lily going into isolation for working on the song but she had not told anyone about this.
But as there was no news of Lily for two weeks, Ma Li got worried and in the end, she called the rest of the members to go to Lily's house.
"Let's just hope that she's fine."
Zhen Shi said and all of them moved towards Lily's house.
Ma Li has a spare key to Lily's apartment, so they were able to enter the apartment easily.
"Where is she?"
Ye Fen looked at the apartment that looked isolated and asked.
"She must be in her bedroom."
Ma Li said and all of them moved towards Lily's bedroom but as they came close to it, they suddenly heard a loud sound.
"Yaaaaaa!!"
All of them looked at each other when they heard that. Confusion was well apparent in their eyes.
"What's that sound?"
"I don't know. Maybe, something happened with Lily."
Fu Tai said and all of them rushed towards her bedroom. They quickly opened the door but the scene before their eyes shocked them.
"Lily…."
Lily was dancing in the middle of the room. Her dance was weird as well.
No matter how cute and pretty a girl is, dancing like that will shock anyone. Her weird dance also shocked her band members.
Their faces were as if they were seeing someone ridiculous.
"Wh-why are you all here!?"
Lily shouted towards them with an embarrassed expression on her face.
"Why are you dancing and what's with this weird dance?"
Ma Li asked instead of answering her question.
When Lily heard that, realisation struck her mind as she suddenly shouted.
"Yes, I want to say something to you all. I completed the song!!!"
