Chapter 254. Helping out (3)
'Why is he stopping the scene?'
That was the question on everyone's mind when they heard Director Chen Pu shouting cut, in the middle of the scene.
Everything was going well.
Ren's portrayal of Cao Xu was at its peak and everyone was waiting for him to finish the scene but the scene was stopped in the middle.
No one actually realised that it was because of Na Wen.
They were all focused on Ren's acting and they forgot to even notice Na Wen. It was because of his weak presence.
His acting was okay but standing besides Ren, he would just look like a noob.
Just his weak presence was ruining the scene.
He was also not giving the sort of emotions, he has to give in this scene. He only had shock on his face but Director Chen Pu wanted more.
The scene required more from him. A lot more!
That's why, Director Chen Pu couldn't help but flare up and shout towards Na Wen. His anger has reached his limits this time.
"Na Wen, get out!! I don't want you to play the crown prince anymore. It's enough!! I can't take more of this. Not only are you ruining your scenes, but you are also destroying Ren's scene."
Na Wen was shockingly silly when he heard that shout. He looked at Director Chen Pu and replied.
"Director Chen Pu, I didn't think I did anything wrong this time."
"Wrong? Why can't you see that your acting is the thing that is wrong here!!"
"Director Chen Pu…."
He was not even able to finish his sentence as Director Chen Pu again shouted towards him, this time he even began to kick some props.
"I don't want to hear anything. I'm cancelling your contract by talking to your agency."
'What?? How will they shoot without Na Wen?'
That was the question on everyone's mind.
The drama «Slayers» has already finished more than half of his scenes. The character photos had already been revealed.
The promotional trailers would start showing on the TV after a month.
Everything was ready and now, Director Chen Pu wanted to change the second male lead. That will surely create many problems.
"Director Chen."
Assistant Director Luo came towards Director Chen Pu to persuade him but he just left the set in a fit of anger.
Assistant Director Luo chased after him but the atmosphere of the set has already become worse and it can't go down any lower.
After Director Chen Pu had left, everyone silently looked towards Na Wen.
There was pity and mocking in their eyes.
Those gazes were full of laughter and mocking. It was like all the people on the set were looking down on Na Wen.
Aren't you the second male lead and a pretty famous actor? Why can't you act out a scene where you don't even have to do much?
You should just stop acting already!!
Na Wen felt like those gazes were asking him those questions. At that moment, he wanted to cry but no tears were falling from his eyes.
He looked around the whole set and all the people were staring at him in contempt.
He hated those stares.
'He must be smirking at me.'
Na Wen thought that Ren would be the same as all the other people but when he turned around to look at him, he found out that Ren was just staring at him.
There was no contempt or mocking on his face.
The blast fan was still blowing his hair and his face was still the epitome of elegance, with no mockery or contempt on it.
For some reason, that made him more frustrated and before anyone could stop him, he walked out of the set and left.
'Sigh!'
In the end, the only thing that Ren could do was to sigh.
* * *
It's always been three days since that incident in which both Na Wen and Director Chen Pu left the set in a fit of anger.
Everyone was still discussing the incident on the set. Of course, all the conversations about it have been subtle.
No one wanted to be the next person to become the target of Director Chen Pu's anger.
Still, the incident had become the best meal time conversation on the set. There were many rumours going around.
Some people were saying that Na Wen's contract had been cancelled and a new actor would soon join the cast.
Others were saying that there had been a big fight between Na Wen's agency and Director Chen Pu, while Wheel works production was trying to solve the situation.
It was a messy situation to be honest.
If a new actor joined the cast, then it would take a long time to shoot the scenes again. They had to take the character photos again.
The promotional video was already in the post production. They would take a huge loss if that happens.
It would also create many rumours and it would affect «Slayers» one way or another.
If Na Wen did return to the cast, then most of the people would probably choose to ignore him and he would be hated.
The situation has already gotten out of their hands.
{Na Wen who is playing the role of second male lead in Director Chen Pu's next drama «Slayers», leaves the cast after a feud between him and Xin Ren.}
"Who wrote this shit??"
Ren couldn't help but curse seeing the article, written by one of the entertainment media outlets.
It's already been three days and Ren knew that some rumours about what happened will surely reach the media.
But he had never thought that they would associate his name with the feud.
He was just standing on the side during the whole incident. How does he become the centre of the feud??
"What happened?"
Hou Qian approached him when he saw Ren's frowning expression.
"Look at this."
Ren quietly showed Hou Qian his phone and he laughed when he read the article.
"It was bound to happen."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that it was just a matter of time until rumours about the feud came online. It was also inevitable that you would be involved in it."
"I didn't even say a word during the whole feud."
Ren said as he frowned.
"If the media has written that it was a feud between the director and Na Wen, then it would not become a hot topic but what if they used one of the hottest stars currently."
"They are taking advantage of me."
Hou Qian nodded and Ren's expression became more grave. He thought that he should report this to the PR Team, as soon as possible.
At the same time, he cursed the person who had given the information to the media.
As the film crew is pretty big and there were a lot of people present during the incident, anyone can leak this information to the media.
Unlike Ren, Hou Qian's expression was not bad. That's why, Ren asked.
"You are not worried that it will affect the drama."
"I'm worried but it's not like something like this has happened the first time in my career. You will get used to it soon."
Hou Qian said the last line while laughing.
He had been in the industry for a long time and he had seen both the darkness and the light of the entertainment industry.
Nothing can faze him now.
"I wonder when the mess will be cleared."
Ren muttered slowly and Hou Qian fell into a thought, then he suddenly said.
"Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with Na Wen's acting. It's just that his understanding of the character is really bad."
"What do you mean?"
Ren stared at Hou Qian as he asked.
