Chapter 261. Reflection (3)
'Yawn!'
Ren yawned as he got out of the White bear's black van. It was still early morning and the month was January.
The air was cold and due to the wind, leaves would rustle and make whispering sounds among each other.
Today, he has a scene early in the morning, so he had to give up on his sleep to come on the set.
"Were you practising till late night again?"
White bear asked as he looked at the dark circles under Ren's eyes. Dark circles were a troubling thing for a celebrity.
Maybe Ren was the only celebrity that didn't have any problems with them.
"Yeah, I can't let myself be like Na Wen. Director Chen Pu is like the incarnation of the devil, if an actor did a NG."
"Yeah."
White bear let out a chuckle when he heard that. Then, he thought for a second and asked.
"Do you think the incident will affect «Slayers»?"
The incident White bear was talking about was not about the feud, but it was about 'Na Wen's heartfelt apology'.
That was the word that was going around the social media, since yesterday.
Just after Na Wen had posted his apology, it had blown up and it was even the top place in the real-time search rankings currently.
There were no signs of it coming down either.
"I can't say but the incident will soon die down."
"Why is that?"
"The media would have spiced it up, if Na Wen was shown as a victim but he has instead apologised in front of everyone."
White bear understood it with just that.
Media would not want to focus on something like an actor's apology for a long time. The drama online will soon die down.
"I wonder if it was a good move from him or not."
"I think it was the correct move but even I didn't think that he would directly post an apology on the internet. He is more braver than I thought."
White bear nodded when he heard that.
Actors nowadays don't even post anything on the internet, without asking their agency. It was rare to come out as honest as Na Wen.
'Well, he has certainly reflected.'
Ren thought in his mind.
This incident hadn't happened in his previous life, so he was not sure how it would affect the drama.
Honestly, if it really affected the drama, then Ren would be somewhat guilty. It was because this incident was probably because of the so-called butterfly effect.
Ren was the one to bring out this butterfly effect.
So, if the drama really can't reach the same ratings like it did in his previous life, then Ren would certainly feel some guilt.
He can just wish that this drama won't affect «Slayers» negatively.
"By the way, why did you think Na Wen posted that apology? Did his agency say it to post it?"
White bear asked and Ren replied after thinking for a while.
"I don't think that his agency would take that decision. Seeing his post, I think it was written by him and there's no interference from his agency."
"Come to think of it, you also have a talk with him, right. What did you two talked about?"
White bear suddenly recalled the evening, when Ren had asked him to drive to Na Wen's hotel.
He still doesn't know what conversation ensued between the two of them.
"Well, it was just about the screenp...."
Ren suddenly stopped while answering. It was because he noticed the strange atmosphere on the set.
The atmosphere on the set was bad from the day the feud had started, but today, the atmosphere was more than just strange.
Ren wondered why it was like that.
Thankfully, he soon found Li Xinru sitting in a corner on the set. She was staring at the makeup room for some reason.
"Did something happen?"
"Ahhh….it's you!!"
Li Xinru was surprised when Ren suddenly asked that question. She turned back and glared at Ren while squinting her eyes.
It looks like she was truly scared.
"You scared me. Can't you just come from the front?"
"It's not my fault that you got scared so easily. Anyway, why is the atmosphere on the set so strange?"
Ren asked as he looked around. He was already familiar with Li Xinru, so there was no reason to hold back.
As he looked around the set, he noticed that most of the people were staring at the makeup room for some reason.
He wondered what was the reason behind this and his doubts were soon cleared by Li Xinru's next words.
"Actually, Na Wen came to the set half an hour ago."
Ren widened his eyes when he heard that. It was truly unexpected for Na Wen to come on the set, especially after his apology.
"Do you know why he came?"
"I don't know but he wanted to talk to Director Chen Pu alone. So, they are talking in the makeup room. Everyone is waiting for them to come out."
Ren raised his eyebrow when he heard that.
"Maybe, he wanted to apologise to Director Chen Pu."
"I don't know and it's not like Director Chen Pu was not at fault here. I never knew that his anger can be so fierce."
It was the first time Li Xinru was working with Director Chen Pu and she has already gotten a taste of his fierce scoldings.
Even if he was also at fault, Director Chen Pu was a senior director. He was even one of the golden directors in China.
No one will dare to say anything to him.
'Creak!'
As Ren and Li Xinru were talking, the door to the makeup room opened.
Everyone focused on Director Chen Pu's expressions.
His expressions were enough for everyone to guess what might have happened between him and Na Wen, but his whole face was blank.
Then, they looked at Na Wen but his face was blank too, like he was in deep thought.
'I wonder what happened between them.'
As Ren was thinking that, Director Chen Pu suddenly called for him.
"Ren! I want to talk to you."
"Me?!"
Ren was surprised but he didn't waste any time, and went up to Director Chen Pu. He stared at Na Wen for a second, but he soon diverted his focus to Director Chen Pu.
"Can you perform scene 62 from episode 22?"
It was not the scene that Ren was going to act out today. It was actually the same scene in which Director Chen has flared up and left the set.
Ren still remembered the scene well. So, he nodded without any hesitation.
"I can do it."
"Good. We will shoot the scene. You can practice with Na Wen."
Director Chen Pu immediately left to prepare for the scene after that. Ren was not even able to ask any questions.
After he left, Ren turned towards Na Wen. He wanted to ask many things but Na Wen opened his mouth first.
"I'm sorry."
It was a random apology out of nowhere.
"I think you have already apologised."
In the apology Na Wen had posted online, he has apologised to Ren many times because his name was involved in the feud, even when he was innocent.
"It's not for that. I'm sorry for being rude to you and….being jealous of you."
"Oh! It's fine. By the way, what did you talk about with Director Chen Pu?"
Ren came straight to the topic.
"I bowed to him and apologised for being immature. I also asked for a chance and he agreed in the end."
"So, we are doing the scene again because of that."
Na Wen nodded his head slowly.
'He's like a changed person.'
Ren thought in his head. The Na Wen he knew would not bow to anyone, much less apologies. It was like he was a completely different person.
"I know I was immature back then. I was rude to many people and didn't think much of it, but after realising that I was the one in the wrong, I felt immense guilt. So, I wanted to change for the better."
Na Wen explained seeing that Ren was in confusion due to his sudden change in behaviour.
Ren also nodded his head and asked.
"So, have you understood your character now?"
"Ah, I think I understand him now."
Na Wen said without any hesitation.
