Chapter 81. On airrr (1)
"Although I am seeing you for the first time, you don't seem like those hot blooded youngster these days."
Wu Wei said towards Ren as he stared at him with slightly narrowed eyes.
"Thank you for your comments, Senior."
Ren said to him respectfully. He had read enough about him from White bear and he had also watched his previous radio broadcasts.
Ren fully knew that the old man with grey hair sitting in front of him was a respectful person both in and out of the industry.
"I didn't realise it at first but I saw your movie «Secret spy» with my grandson. I still remember the chills I got on that time."
"Really! That's a honour."
"Don't be so respectful towards me. I am just an old man who is doing radio shows as a hobby these days."
Wu Wei said as he laughed.
"You know my father is actually a fan of your songs."
"Really. I only get middle age fans these days. Haha."
The atmosphere inside the booth was amiable thanks to the personality of Wu Wei.
He was a straightforward person who is enjoying life in his old age. Ren felt good getting to know him as it was rare to find such a person.
"Senior Wu, we are ready to go."
Suddenly, there was a shout from outside the radio booth. It was Writer Hu who was gesturing that they were ready to go.
"Okay."
Wu Wei said as he picked up his headphones from his neck and put them on. He then put the manuscript on his front and checked his mic.
"We are ready to go now. You don't have to worry about this part as it will be a short preview only."
Wu Wei said towards Ren and he just nodded at that.
He glanced at the other side of the glass of the radio booth and saw White bear staring at him with a nervous and happy expression.
At first, when Ren had started giving out interviews to the media outlets, White bear was often worried about literally everything but now, he knew that Ren can handle the interviews well.
You could even say that they have both grown together.
"Okay, we will go air after 1, 2, 3, 4...…and now."
With that declaration from Producer Ma, a energetic and catchy music played out as a opening sequence and Wu Wei started talking his lines with a excited tone.
"Hello, everyone who are here with me, so early in the morning. We struggle everyday in our daily lives and we are often tired of it. We wish to change our life but before we realised it, our lives are over."
After that part, another rhythmic sound flew out and Wu Wei continued.
"But everytime we see our faces in mirrors, we motivated ourselves by saying that we just had to hold on for some more days as weekend is coming. There will no books, teachers or boss on a weekend. It will just be you and your life."
A slow and charming sound flew out then, and Wu Wei finished his sentences.
"So, for you all who is waiting for a weekend, a song by famous band V5, Just one more day, hope you will like it and after the song, let's meet our guest for this beautiful morning."
The preview ended with that and Wu Wei skillfully selected the song and adjusted it's volume.
After doing that, he looked towards Producer Ma who was smiling while giving a thumbs up.
"You are really great, Senior Wu. You are really skillful with your hands."
"You will also be skillful if you do this for 10 years."
Wu Wei said as he laughed.
"But it's not easy to continue a show for 10 years. It's a feat in itself."
"You think so but I just feel like doing it when I see people enjoying my voice again."
Wu Wei said with a nostalgic look. He was an old singer who was considered a senior in the singing industry but unlike other old singers who had opened their own music companies, he was just doing radio.
It was because he was still not able to forget about the big stage he once stood on. He just wanted to make his listeners feel good by his voice.
While talking, the song was finished and Producer Ma gestured them to start the next segment.
"Okay, like I said we are back with our guest for today. You must have heard about him as he is quite trendy recently. I will let him introduce himself."
Wu Wei said as he gestured Ren to speak.
"Hello, everyone, I don't know if many people will know me or not but my name is Xin Ren and I am a rookie actor who just debuted recently. It's nice to be on a show with Senior Wu."
Ren spoke perfectly as he recited the lines of the script he had received and the comments on the monitor were also favourable.
As his controversy has just died down, many people still remembered him.
"You are quite humble when you don't have to be. It's rare to see it in stars these days."
"Thank you, Senior Wu."
The show went ahead and after some brief talk, the interview finally started.
"So, you are just 20, right. How does it feel to become a prominent actor in such a young age?"
"Well, I don't think I am a prominent actor as I am still new in the industry and have not done many movies but it still feel good as my dream had finally came true."
Ren answered the question with a simple tone. He was not being arrogant which the listeners quite liked as there were many good comments about it.
"So, I had watched your movie «Secret spy» and it was great. How did you get that role?"
"It was my luck, I think."
"Your luck? I don't think your acting can only be considered luck."
"No, it was not about my acting. My role was actually changed in the middle of the shooting and I was about to be kicked out of the movie."
"Really?"
Wu Wei said with a surprised expression and watching the comments, the viewers were also shocked.
Although there were some articles about how Ren got the role, it was buried under other articles, so not many people knew about it.
"Yeah, Director Zhu wanted to cast an experienced actor for it and I had only one chance to play the role."
"So, you got that role in that single chance."
"Well, I had just one chance and I gave my best for it. It was good that Director Zhu liked my role and casted me for the role of Jay."
"We are also glad that he cast you in that role."
Wu Wei said as he laughed and he gave a thumbs up to Ren after seeing the explosive comments section.
