Chapter 43

(Afternoon)

Ruoxi had just arrived at Rose's bar. She was slightly surprised it was a bar in the first place but didn't think too much about this. She then got off her car and started walking toward the door.

Ruoxi knocked on the door and after a couple of seconds, a man opened the door.

It was Little Zhao. He had already known Rose was expecting a visitor today so he was just waiting for them to arrive so he can guide them inside.

What Little Zhao didn't expect, was that it was an extremely beautiful woman who would be arriving. So when he saw Ruoxi, he became stunned by her looks.

'This woman is more beautiful, than big sister!' Thought Little Zhao.

"Excuse me?" Ruoxi said coldly. This was her natural reaction towards people she hasn't met, especially men.

Little Zhao became slightly nervous hearing her cold words. He then coughed to get rid of the awkward atmosphere.

"Right this way, ma'am." Little Zhao motioned her inside the bar.

When inside, Ruoxi was a bit surprised by the modern and good quality place. She hasn't been to many bars so she couldn't really judge this place with her knowledge.

Little Zhao stopped in front of a table and said, "Please sit."

Ruoxi sat down. She wanted to know what kind of identity did Yang Chen's lover have.

Yang Chen did explain that his lover was a bar owner and by the looks of it, a pretty successful one too. But Ruoxi had a feeling this wasnt everything so she just kept observing.

"She will be here in a moment. Would you like to have something to drink while waiting." Little Zhao asked with hospitality. He wanted Rose's guest to not feel uncomfortable in the bar.

Ruoxi shook her head without even sparing him a glance, making Little Zhao smile bitterly before leaving her to herself.

A couple of minutes later, Rose arrived at the lounge where Ruoxi was located at.

When she first saw Ruoxi, she became stunned as well. She did see her on TV but seeing on a screen and seeing in person are two different things. She then quickly composed herself and greeted her.

"Hello, my name is Situ Rose but you can call me Rose." Rose smiled and offered a handshake.

Ruoxi's hand stopped midway when she noticed something. It was a beautiful ring on Rose's ring finger. Her heartfelt even more pain as she noticed this. Who else could gift her such a ring, other than a lover?

Rose noticing where she was looking at, turned to that direction and started to curse in her mind. How could she forget about something like this? Ever since she had received this ring from Yang Chen, she has never taken it off so it's completely natural that she has forgotten to take it off when meeting Ruoxi.

Rose then quickly put down her hand and placed it behind her. She didn't want Ruoxi to be more affected as they talked together.

Ruoxi noticing how she was being thoughtful to her by hiding the ring, became a little less upset. She then introduced herself.

"I'm Lin Ruoxi." Ruoxi said coldly.

Rose wasn't affected by her cold tone and smiled while saying, "Miss Lin, I've seen you on TV when you announced that you were married so I have to say, that you are really beautiful. No wonder, Yang Chen married you."

Rose decided not to address Yang Chen intimately so she won't hurt Ruoxi's feelings.

Ruoxi slightly blushed at her compliment. She didn't think, her supposed love rival would be so nice to her so her opinion of Rose has risen a bit.

"Thank you, but you can just call me Ruoxi."

Rose smiled. She felt that Ruoxi wasn't upset as much as before.

They then both sat down and Rose asked, "I know this may be sudden but how did you and Yang Chen meet?"

Rose wanted to know more about Ruoxi in order to not make her upset anymore.

Ruoxi blushed. Was she supposed to confess that, they met at a bar and somehow ended up in Yang Chen's bedroom?

"I-I...How did you two meet?" Ruoxi couldn't answer her question in embarrassment so she decided to ask one instead.

Rose didnt think much of it and smiled, "We met when I was in a pinch with some people and Yang Chen saved me."

Rose couldn't help but talk sweetly as she remembered the first time they met.

"I see." Ruoxi heart became a little jealous. So it turns out Yang Chen became her hero. She then thought about how he agreed to marry her and her jealousy lessened. It seems they were both somehow saved by Yang Chen.

"Then we're quite similar." Ruoxi said softly to herself as she remembered her circ.u.mstances.

Rose still heard her before she smiled radiantly as she understood what she meant.

"It seems we are."

Ruoxi couldn't help but smile a bit at her enthusiastic behavior.

"By the way, what do you do when you're not at work. I've seen on TV that you run a company but I know this can't be all you do." Rose asked. She wanted to know more about Ruoxi and hopefully become friends with her.

Ruoxi didn't think much about and thought about something before saying, "Well, I like visiting the orphanage whenever I have the time."

"I'm sure the kids love you and have fun whenever you're around." Rose said in a gentle tone. She always wanted to go to the orphanage to have fun with the unfortunate kids in order to cheer them up but she felt that her blood-stained hands had become a sin. So she has never visited one.

Ruoxi noticed how her expression had become a bit dejected so she asked, "Have you ever visited the orphanage?"

Rose shook her head, "I don't think I have the right to go."

Ruoxi didn't understand and said, "Everyone has the right to go. The kids will always be delighted with more people to come and play with them. Especially from someone as pretty as you."

Rose felt a bit touched and asked, "Then...why don't you accompany me? I've never been to one and I wouldn't know what kids like nowadays."

Ruoxi smiled gently. She always liked it when people visited the orphanage to take care of the children.

"I was actually going to visit them soon since I haven't been there in some time, so why don't we go in a few days?" Ruoxi asked. She didn't know it but her way of speaking was that of a friend.

Rose felt joy. She had felt Ruoxi was starting to like her and now she was going to visit a place she had always wanted to go. She then nodded quickly to not keep Ruoxi waiting for her answer.

"No wonder hubby likes you." Rose mumbled under her breath but Ruoxi still heard.

Ruoxi was confused at who she was addressing but understood her intimate way of speaking was that to a lover. She felt a slight pain in her heart until she heard the latter part.

Ruoxi then madly blushed as her heart started to race.

"W-What did you say..." Ruoxi asked with a trembling voice.

Rose couldn't help but curse in her mind once again at her big mouth. She then quickly looked at another direction and said, "Nothing."

Rouxi's confirmation became more certain as she saw Rose's reaction but she still wanted to hear it.

Ruoxi then looked at Rose's eyes with seriousness before asking, "Please, can you tell me?"

Rose sighed and turned toward her, "Yes, whatever you're probably thinking...it's true."

Rose couldn't help but smile gently seeing her reaction.

"Just please don't tell hubby, I told you." Rose pleaded.

Ruoxi closed her eyes and her lips sealed. Her mood became joyful as she was speaking to Rose at the sudden news she just got. She didn't mind the way Rose was addressing Yang Chen either as she was blinded by her own happiness.

Ruoxi then suddenly thought of something and asked, "Wait, how are you okay about telling me this?"

Rose smiled, "Well, I just want to see my hubby happy. That's all."

Ruoxi at this moment started to like Rose more. They had many things in common so she honestly felt they can become great friends.

They both then started to talk more about their likes and dislikes for the next hour and they both enjoyed the time.

Soon it was time for Ruoxi to go so she gave her number to Rose so they can head to the orphanage in a few days.

"Thanks for coming to meet me. I know it was difficult for you, knowing our situation." Rose said gently.

Ruoxi shook her head and said, "It's okay. I had fun today and I hope we can become closer in the future."

Rose became ecstatic and nodded happily.

Ruoxi smiled and headed to her car.

Once in the car, her expression now became nervous after knowing what Rose had told her. She didn't know how to act in front of Yang Chen now.

Ruoxi shook her head and decide to just go home.
