The second floor of the Martial Art Pavilion had far fewer bookshelves and bamboo slips compared to the first one. However, every Martial technique here was a Low-grade or a Middle-grade Mortal Martial technique.

'Lightning Dragon Palm, Fire Tiger Punch, Unstoppable Tornado Kick… These Martial techniques sound amazing, too bad I can't take them all…' Thought Li Jing.

As Lin Jing was going through the various shelves, a set of bamboo slips suddenly attracted his attention.

"Foundation Sword Manual, Foundation Spear Manual, Foundation Staff Manual, Foundation Daggers Manual…" He read.

Each one of these manuals taught the basic skills of a weapon. They were specifically written for beginners to help them have a good foundation in the weapon of their choice.

If these manuals were for beginners why were they on the second floor? Because only some privileged members of the clan who possessed a spiritual weapon could train with these manuals.

Li Jing was suddenly very interested. If he could learn by himself how to use his daggers, maybe it was worth reconsidering his previous statement.

Now that he thought about it, limiting himself by saying that he didn't want to use a weapon was silly of him. Since he received a Sky-grade weapon he should take advantage of it.

He took the Foundation Daggers Manual bamboo slip and read the description.

According to the description, the manual taught the basic moves related to double daggers such as stabbing, slashing, thrusting, and slicing as well as the basic footwork and stance. However, it didn't contain any dagger Martial technique.

What frustrated Li Jing was that it was only the basics, there was no advanced moves or techniques. Was it really worth to spend years of training to master a weapon?

After a long and mature reflection, Li Jing finally decided that yes, it was worth it. If he didn't have a system, he couldn't have gotten hold of such a powerful weapon for decades. Almost no one in this continent possessed a Sky-grade weapon, so he should feel lucky. He now realized that obtaining these daggers was not bad luck but on the contrary a blessing!

Li Jing took the Foundation Daggers Manual bamboo slip and started searching for a dagger Martial technique.

After several minutes of research, he finally found one.

The technique was called Power Slash. It was a Low-grade Mortal Martial technique. According to the description, with this technique, the dagger absorbed and condensed the wielder's Qi before releasing it at the tip of the blade, enhancing the slash attack, which flew forward.

Satisfied, Li Jing made a final inspection to be sure not to miss interesting techniques. He regretted that he couldn't access the third floor of the pavilion. The third floor was reserved for the clan elders, the clan leader, and the clan patriarch. Even as the heir of the clan he couldn't access it…

Li Jing went back to the first floor and took the Instant Flash Step and the Hammer Fist bamboo slips. In total, he chose four techniques. Two Yellow-grade Martial techniques: Instant Flash Step and Hammer Fist, one Mortal-grade Martial technique: Power Slash, and the Foundation Daggers Manual.

Li Jing gave the bamboo slips of the techniques he chose to the old man.

"Hammer Fist and Instant Flash Step, not a bad choice. However, daggers are not weapons easy to use and master. Are you sure of your choice?" Said the old man with a smile.

Li Jing nodded, he didn't regret his choice.

The old man took out four long, narrow strips of jade from his spatial ring and gave them to Li Jing.

'Oh, right, I also have a spatial ring. I need to see what's inside.' He thought.

"Inject your Qi inside these jade slips and you will be able to read their content." Explained the old man.

Li Jing did as the old man said, and, after injecting his Qi into one of the jade slip, he could read its content exactly like he was reading a book!

Li Jing put the four jade slips in his pocket and bid farewell to the old man.

Walking out of the Martial Art Pavillon, Li Jing told to Li Hua that he wanted to visit the Weapons Hall to get a weapon.

He couldn't use his Sky-grade daggers in front of everyone, it would attract too much unnecessary attention and could even cause powerful people to attack him to steal them.

They arrived in front of the Weapons Hall. It was far smaller than the Martial Art Pavillon and only had one floor.

Inside he was greeted by an old lady who smiled upon seeing him.

"Good morning Young Master Jing." She said.

Li Jing was ashamed, many people knew him but he had no idea who they were.

"Good morning." He said, showing her the token he received from his grandfather. The token could also be used to enter the Weapons Hall.

The old lady nodded and explained:

"You can choose one weapon of your choice in the hall. If you are not satisfied with your choice, you can come back and exchange it for another one."

"I understand, thank you." Said Li Jing.

Inside the hall, he saw many different kinds of weapons. The traditional sword, saber, spear, and staff, but also some untraditional weapons like bow, hammer, or whip.

Of course, they were all spiritual weapons. The main differences between a normal weapon and a spiritual weapon were that a cultivator could channel his Qi inside a spiritual weapon and the quality of a spiritual weapon was also far higher.

The higher the grade of a spiritual weapon was, the more Qi a cultivator could channel inside of it, and the better its quality. A Sky-grade weapon could easily shatter a Yellow or Mortal-grade weapon.

Seeing all these weapons Li Jing became excited. He was like a child in a toy store!

He started searching for daggers and used his perk Appraisal on the weapons around him. When he noticed that they were all Yellow or Mortal-grade weapons, he sighed.

A moment later, he finally found what seemed like the only pair of daggers in the hall. Although they were only Yellow-grade daggers, Li Jing didn't care. He just needed them to practice after all.

Li Jing left the Weapons Hall with his new daggers in hand after bidding farewell to the old lady and returned in his courtyard with Li Hua.

In front of his bedroom, Li Jing suddenly remembered something important, he turned to Li Hua and asked:

"Sister Hua, do you know when the next auction will take place?"

"Huh? Do you mean the auction organized by the Yuan Auction House? It takes place every month, so the next one is in three days. Why do you ask, Young Master?" Said Li Hua, surprised by this sudden question.

'So, only three days left before the start of the first main event of the novel.' Thought Li Jing.
