14 Yuan Auction House

Li Jing and Hong Mei were facing Teng Fen. The three of them were surrounded by a crowd of people that were looking at them like they were watching a good show.

Hong Mei was angry, she wanted to humiliate Teng Fen and get out of this place.

Teng Fen was indifferent. In his eyes, these people were nothing more than ants.

Li Jing was focused, he was trying to think about a solution to get him out of this situation.

He didn't have many options.

Although Li Jing had nothing against Teng Fen, he was very tempted to attack him. As someone who has read the web novel, he knew the damage that Teng Fen will cause to this kingdom. Moreover, Teng Fen will be his main obstacle when trying to reach the apex.

Unfortunately, he knew he wasn't strong enough yet to defeat him. If he attacked him and failed, Teng Fen would cripple him or worst kill him. Even his shadow guards wouldn't be able to protect him… Teng Fen didn't care about the consequences of his actions. If someone pissed him off, he would just kill him and kill everyone else who would try to punish him for this action.

Even if Li Jing had a very very slim chance to kill Teng Fen by launching a surprise attack with his Elusive Smoke Steps technique and his Sky-grade daggers, it wouldn't be good either. Teng Fen was still the heir of the Teng clan and Li Jing will be punished by the kingdom for killing him. He didn't think that he could kill Teng Fen so easily though. Furthermore, he never killed anyone before so he will probably hesitate before striking and fail…

Then, maybe he should side with Teng Fen and insult Hong Mei? No, bad idea. In the following years, Teng Fen will offend tons of people and make a lot of strong enemies. If Li Jing joined his side he will also become a target for them. He definitely didn't want to become a cannon fodder.

Li Jing also knew that Hong Mei was too stubborn, if he just told her to drop this matter, she would never listen to him and it could even make things worse.

So, the best way out of this situation was to ignore Hong Mei and Teng Fen. If Hong Mei wanted to die by provoking Teng Fen it was her problem and Li Jing had no intention of saving her.

"Sister Mei, I'm afraid to be late for the auction. I will go first." He said.

It was true that the Yuan Auction House closed their door thirty minutes before the start of the auction. So, if he was late, he would miss the auction.

Hong Mei and the crowd saw Li Jing walking away towards the Yuan Auction House. Did he just ignore them all?

Hong Mei was now even angrier... Li Jing refused to give her face? But there was nothing she could do to him for now. He was after all the heir of the Li clan. However, she was still decided to humiliate Teng Fen.

Li Jing hated the fact that he was not strong enough to face Teng Fen. He felt like he was a coward running away to save his life, it was really humiliating… He clenched his fists and swore to himself that he will one day be stronger than Teng Fen. In the meantime, he should also stay as far away as possible from Hong Mei. This girl and her whole clan could die, he didn't care…

He finally arrived in front of the Yuan Auction House. It was easy to recognize since it was the largest building in the Marketplace.

The Yuan Auction House was an independent entity that had an auction house in each of the six major kingdoms of the Southern Border Continent. Although they never interfered in the matter of the kingdoms, they held a lot of power. Even the royal family and the Great Clans didn't dare to offend them!

As he entered the Auction House, Li Jing noticed that there were already a lot of people inside.

The entry hall of the Yuan Auction House was very large and beautifully decorated with a lot of heroic paintings showing scenes of cultivators fighting Demonic Beasts or classical poems of this world.

The entry hall was divided into three parts. In the front, there was a huge door leading to the auction room. To the right, there was a staircase that led to private rooms from where people of prestigious families could attend the auction. Finally, to the left, there was a staircase that led to rooms reserved for the employees of the Auction House.

"Young Master, I'll get someone to guide us." Said Li Hua

Li Jing nodded and saw Li Hua waking to the counter near the front door and speak to the receptionist.

The receptionist glanced at him and immediately rushed towards the left staircase.

A short moment later, a chubby middle-aged woman wearing an opulent red dress and an extravagant number of jewels came down from the left staircase and walked over to them.

"Young Master Jing, welcome to our Yuan Auction House! My name is Sun Di, I will take care of you." She said, smiling widely.

Li Jing knew this middle-aged woman thanks to the web novel. Her name was Sun Di, she was the general manager of the Yuan Auction House. Her position was just under that of the director!

"Greetings, Lady Sun." Said Li Jing, cupping his hands.

"This is your first time in our Yuan Auction House, right? Then, you should follow me to receive your welcome gift!" Said Sun Di.

Li Jing was intrigued by this welcome gift. It was not mentioned in the web novel since Teng Fen already came many times in the Yuan Auction House before his transmigration.

"Alright." He said.

In the meantime, Teng Fen could be seen in the street of the Marketplace with many dead bodies around him. These idiots believed that they could attack him with impunity but all paid for it with their lives.

Hong Mei was hiding behind her four shadow guards, half scared and half angry.

"Y-You dared to kill them all?! Kill him!!" She ordered her shadow guards.

"Young Miss, I don't think it's a good idea. He is still the heir of the Teng clan." Said one of the shadow guards.

Hong Mei knew that he was right but today she suffered the greatest humiliation of her life…

"You… Good… Teng Fen this is not over! I swear you will one day pay for this! Let's go!" She exclaimed.

Hong Mei and her four shadow guards then walked away towards the Yuan Auction House.

Teng Fen just smirked and ignored them. If they had attacked him, he would have killed them all without hesitation…
