Chapter 72 - His pokemons is simply NOT beginner level

Cress took the first step to start his initial charge towards Riolu who already began to circulate fighting energy within it's body to prepare for a counter attack, within two metres away from him Riolu took the first step forward to which Cress already thought it would happen so he slid down on the ground extending one of his legs for a slide kick. Riolu however used normal energy in a flash to boost it's speed [quick attack] to dodge to the left and came charging at Cress with a Karate chop straight for his head.

Cress: [Hell!? It really is advanced! I thought I could teach him a lesson for what he did to CHili's pokemon but this is simply too much!!]

Cress blocked the incoming karate chop with his gauntlet guard while spinning his body to kick at Riolu like a spinning top however Riolu who was quite experienced in fighting humans because of Jay's careful training the already predicted this and jumped back while gathering dark energy within it's body, the moment the amount of dark energy capacity was full enough Riolu barked loudly sending the gathered dark energy out of his body like a ripple formed when a rock drop in the water.

Cilan: "Dark pulse!? Just how the hell do you train your pokemon!?"

Jay: "I train my pokemon to control their energy and to increase it's capacity, as long as one can control and has sufficient of the said energy then any move is possible... In Theory"

Cilan: "This looks like solid proof for me"

Jay: "Well that was only a intermediate move after all... I haven't trained Riolu to use a advanced move yet after all"

The magic enhanced armour's mana fluctuations became more active as a one direction Barrier form in front of Cress to block the incoming dark energy attack, Cress could not help but feel fear at this pokemon and even more the trainer who trained it only for a few months.

Cress: [This is only a few months training? And it's completely different from how we do things!]

If Cress was not a Gym Leader he might have already given up, Riolu who seen it's attack was blocked used the oppurtunity Cress was still stunned to close fast onto him. Cress knew being close to a fighting type is not the best thing to do so he began to jump backwards while activating the magic that was engraved into a formation, it was one of the items trainers could use to combat pokemon at long range.

What shot out of the gauntlet was a small fire condensed ball that rapidly began to expand was it travels towards Riolu, the genius who created this gauntlet called it the Balloon Fireball for the reason that the fire ball rapidly expands till the first thing it touch it will explode.

Jay: "Riolu, dodge it"

Riolu heeded Jay first command during this battle dodging the incoming fireball to it's left while sprinting towards the now ȧssumed defenseless Cress, Masaru however channeled his psychic energy to cover the fireball and began to compress it to a small size, unlike Pokemon moves that also had raw power momentum behind it's attacks the attacks of the gauntlet relies on it's explosiveness instead of the kinetic energy. When Jay caught the fireball he began to inspect it out of curiousity since these kinds of objects were not available in Kanto, as a ȧssistant of Professor Oak he still gotten the habit of inspecting new things.

Jay: "This person really is a genius... It still has a lot of potential"

Cilan: [We are only a beginner gym not a damn Gym for monsters!]

Jay created another layer of physic energy to form a dual layer barrier around the fireball before forcing it to explode within the barrier, with the toy out of the way he looked at Riolu who finally managed to get close enough to Cress starting a close combat. Boom! Riolu who infused fighting energy was countered by Cress's armor barrier that blocks the heavy attacks, but he knew that the energy source of this armour was running low rapidly under the attacks of this harmless looking Riolu that was actually Ferocious!

Riolu left a opening for Cress to attack him but Channeled normal energy into it's body to execute Block, upon making contact with the move Cress was rebounded backwards and Riolu punced at him hitting and kicking him. Cilan could see how miserable his brother was being beaten black and blue for underestimating his enemy.

Cila: [Should I stop the match?]

Cress with difficulity raised his hand to indicate he given up.

Cilan: "The match is over! Riolu has won the round"

Cress who was still laying motionless on the ground looking at Riolu who looked ferocious before was not cute and lovable extending it's paw to help him up, because of this swift and sudden change Cress could not find himself to hate this pokemon who beaten him up with two panda eyes. Even Cilan who saw the eyes began to laugh at him thinking it was truly tragic if a gym leader would welcome guests with such looks, Cilan turned to look at Jay who gently ċȧrėss the head of Riolu congratulating it for it's victory.

Cress: "Ahem! This is the final match between the Gym Leader Cilan and Jay Silver, can you both please call out your pokemons!"

Cilan: "Come out my lovely brocolli!"

What appeared was a pokemon Jay would never expected Cilan to call out after witnessing the previous two battles, what appeared was a green / cream simian Pokemon with it's Oval black eyes, large ears with light green insides, and a tiny, black nose. There is a broccoli-like sprout atop its head. Its muzzle, upper body, and skinny forelimbs are cream-colored, and its hands seem to have no fingers, aside from a thumb.

Jay: [Pansage huh]

Name: Pansage

Type: Grass

Power Level: Advanced (Peak)]

Jay: [No wonder he was confident, this kind of battle will be difficult for Zorua. But using my old pokemons will be a problem]

Cilan who noticed Jay was looking seriously at his Pansage which greatly shocked him, since only he knew he had two pansages and this one was his main team member and strongest pansage. He felt his interest in Jay was growing since he could already guess this pansage was stronger than average, Jay shook his head as he recalled Riolu and called out Zorua. The reason for this choice was simple, if he held back here hen Zorua will never have the chance to experience a hard fight.

Cress: "Both pokemons is out! Now let the match begin!"

Cilan: "Pansage, use dig"

Pansage who heard his master's orders channeled earth energy into it's fist while punching the ground in rapid succession to loosen it up before starting to dig deep into the ground, Zorua was calm since it knew it was weaker than the pokemon it was facing plus it was a grass type so it had sharper sense to detect life force so hiding was close to impossible unless it was stronger than Pansage.

Jay: "Zorua use water sport"

Cilan: "Now!"

Pansage erupted from the back of Zorua wanted to smack it but Zorua was waiting for it to come out as it unless a minimal damage dark pulse to cause it to flinch for a moment before backing away, Zorua knew if it attacked then Pansage could counter without the need to use it's eyes but moving away was indeed the right choice although it was only the right choice for a moment.

Cilan called out to his pansage to use quick attack slamming Zorua into the ground when it moved simply too fast for Zorua to follow, with Zorua down Pansage began to manipulate it's normal energy to form claws to use scratch attack on the defenseless Zorua.

Jay: "Zorua use fake tears"

Tears began to accumulate at the corner of Zorua's eyes causing Pansage to flinch while feeling some sort of uncomfortable feeling within it's ċhėst, seeing this opening Zorua immediate used it's ability to transform it's body into Jay whom it copied long ago. With a Human body Zorua began to execute the close combat skills it learned from Jay.

Even Cilan was shocked at this sight as he never knew of Pokemons using Human fighting techniques in such a way, it was only after a while when Zorua decided to stop when the fainted Pansage was revealed. The combat technique which Jay taught his pokemon targets the fatal points of the pokemons, since it's common sense that humans can use this and not pokemons they normally don't train their pokemons to counter these moves.

Well that is only for Pokemon vs Pokemon, but gym leaders would naturally use pokemons specially trained to fight humans should it be a trainer vs Pokemon battle, seeing that Pansage was out Cress called it out.

Cress: "The match is over! Jay Silver has win the gym battle!"

Cilan: "You have done well Pansage, I am proud of you"

Cilan went over to console his pokemon before recalling it into his pokeball, he stood up looking at Jay feeling he learnt a great deal of things today. This trainer before him must be a God's chosen to use such irregular fighting style which is being implemented but because of the difficulity to achieve this is too high, most people opted to use the standard battle training to train their pokemons.

Cilan: "You really taught me something new today"

Jay: "It's nothing much... I have indeed learnt quite a few things myself"

Jay decided to play humble since he killed a pokemon of the Gym he need to back off, the last thing he need right now is to be held here by them for some sort of compensation. Cress appeared with their gym badge on top of a cushion.

Cress: "Congrats on winning the gym battle, you truly are strong as they say"

Jay: "I am only luckier than most that's all"

Cilan: "No, to train your pokemon to such a degree in Kanto where the energy is fewer compared to the outside world, I can say you have a monstrous talent to train pokemons"

Jay did not say anything, he bowed respectfully to give his thanks taking the gym badge. He recalled his pokemon and left as fast as he could since he could sense Chili was approaching from the outside.

Jay: [Finally over... Now we can move towards the other city but... The route we have to go through is infested with zombies... Since it will be our first official encounter with these things we best prepare ourselves properly]
