“How? When… when did she get this close to me?” Kain asked himself because he didn’t see Jaane was walking toward him. Actually, he saw her but because his mind was boggling around what she said earlier on dreaming of being his wife; that was why Kain couldn’t gain back his focus until Jaane kissed him on the lips.
“Kain… be my husband for just a little while. Grant me this final wish before you kill me.” After seeing Kain’s Ice Gargoyle didn’t kill her, Jaane softly whispered into Kain’s ear then kissed him on the neck.
“What is she doing? Is she trying to have sex with me? But it is a taboo. She will be executed if-” Kain stopped asking himself such a stupid question. Kain is a Blood Mage, he doesn’t give a f**k about any kind of taboo. Jaane is dying anyway, why would she care about being executed later if people find out?
Seeing Kain had no response, Jaane grabbed his hand and walked him toward the direction of her tent. “I comprehend what she is doing now. She is trying to seduce me so I wouldn’t kill her after that. Yeah, that gotta be it. I am not stupid. I think with my head, not with my d**k. You can’t fool me, Jaane Almos!” Kain advised himself as he gave the command for his Ice Gargoyle to swing down its Ice Scythe.
Just like that, all Jaane could see was a pitch of darkness but she still managed to say four words before it was too late, “Kain, I love you.” Jaane smiled as she knew her life had ended in the arms of the person she loved.
Six hours later. “Where is Jaane?” Cade Lawson asked when she was counting all Student Mages after they have made it out from the magical forest. No Student Mage seems to know the answer. Cade shot out her firecrackers to signal for help hoping other professors will be able to see it. Cade wasn’t really asking other professors for help but rather wanted them to get out of the magical forest before the Legend-tier Black Panther wandering into them. Cade couldn’t believe a Legend-tier magical creature would dare to wander too close to the outside of the magical forest. Those stupid beasts were not supposed to do that because this will make the Mages Council angry and that would result in being hunted by Saint-tier Executioners later.
Cade didn't casted [Summon Angel Warrior] and commanded the Angel to fly toward the camp to look for Jaane. The Angel Warrior would probably fade away due to Cade’s mana pool depletion before it could reach the camp since her mana pool isn’t large enough to keep the Angel Warrior being summoned for six hours. Arthur wanted to help out but she stopped him and said, “Beside me, you are the strongest here. I needed you to reserve your mana just in case that Black Panther dares to come outside of the magical forest.”
Adela Hindergrass, Rosa Drumwind, Ana Roxley, Golda Coldshore, and Calley Astorio started talking to each other about the reason Jaane was missing. Ana asked, “Jaane liked Kain very much, do you guys think she left the group to go look for him?”
Golda said, “Why would she do that? Her Intermediate Magic won’t be able to do anything against a Legend-tier magical creature.”
Calley said, “Jaane didn’t admit it but I caught her looking at Kain from faraway many times. This silly girl must have gone to look for him.”
Rosa said, “I don’t know if I will want to sacrifice my life looking for a man like she did.”
Adela said, “I would have done the same if it was Arthur who stays behind to fight with that Black Panther. If you truly love someone, you will no longer care about your safety but putting their safety as the top priority.”
The girls continued to talk about Jaane out loud despite Sofia standing close to them. Sofia heard it all and was ashamed of herself. “Kain sacrificed his life to save me but I abandoned him in the time he needed me the most. How can I ever be jealous of Jaane? She loved him much more than I ever could.” Tears ran down Sofia's eyes as she thought to herself about that. Sofia was killed and revived, she can’t cast a magic spell for the next thirty days anyway. But that doesn’t stop her from feeling guilt because even if she could cast magic, she wouldn’t dare to go look for Kain like Jaane did.
Jaane opened her eyes and saw a Fire Demon standing in the opposite direction of an Ice Gargoyle that was flying next to her. She checked her neck, arms, legs, clothes, and everything appeared to be the same. The Ice Gargoyle handed Jaane a letter and she read it: “Jaane, the Fire Boy, and the Ice Girl will escort you safely back to meet up with other Student Mages. I was supposed to kill you to protect my identity from being exposed but I couldn’t find the courage to do it. I won’t be able to stay inside the Mages’ Academy anymore. I know you will tell other people about my identity as a Blood Mage but I won’t blame you. Do what you gotta do. One day we will meet again. And before that day comes, train harder. Because next time I won’t hesitate to kill you. Kain.”
What happened was when Kain waved his hand signaled for the Ice Gargoyle to kill Jaane but immediately changed his decision after that. He used his left hand to block the Ice Scythe attack then used his right hand to knock her out by hitting a soft spot in her neck. After regrowing his left hand using [Life Drain], Kain then conjured a Fire Demon and commanded the Fire Demon to work with the Ice Gargoyle to protect Jaane. Kain got back into his tent and wrote her a letter, handed it to the Ice Gargoyle, directed the Fire Demon to burn it after Jaane read it. After that, Kain walked away from the camp to never come back here again.
After Jaane finished reading the letter, the Fire Demon seized it from her hand and burned the letter using [Flame]. Jaane begged, “Please take me to your conjurer.”
A regular Ice Gargoyle won’t be able to speak the human language so the Fire Demon answered on behalf of both of them, “We will take you back to meet up with other humans. Let’s go.”
“Please... I won’t expose him as a Blood Mage to anyone, please tell him not to leave the Mages’ Academy.”
“No.”
“Just tell me which direction he went to, I can find him myself. Please…”
Jaane continued to beg but the Fire Demon but the Demon had no problem in continuing to refuse. Knowing the Ice Gargoyle and Fire Demon won’t take her to find Kain, Jaane slowly walked toward the South direction to get out of this magical forest to meet up with other students and Professor Lawson.
