Book 2: Chapter 6 (2/8)

Name:Twin Soul Author:Zskyph
Finwe flew down to clutched Kain on the ground then activated [Teleportation] to teleport away from this area, leaving Chemosh to stay and fight the remaining giants by himself. Still holding Kain in his arms, Finwe flew away even further away from this area as fast as he could hoping Chemosh would be able to survive long enough to keep those giants busy until Finwe found a safe spot for Kain to rest.

About a minute later, Kain opened his eyes and saw he was being carried by Finwe. Kain asked, "Did we win?"

Finwe nodded and said, "We won."

"Hahaha… Those bitch ass bastards sure learned a lesson by now."

"Sure."

"Wait. Why are we flying away if we win?"

"Oh, were you talking about defeating the giants? No, we lose to them."

"What did you think I was talking about?"

"I thought you meant did we successfully escape from those giants."

"Ah… well, I guess we did have a win after all. We are still alive, that can be counted as a win."

"Yeah, but you are badly beaten."

"I will be okay. My [Second Life] will… oh shit."

"What?"

"I activated [Second Life] too soon and now the time to use it has expired."

"So? Chant for another one. Because if you haven't used it, the twenty-four hours cooldown won't be in effect, right? I will kill you after you activate [Second Life] again so you can refill your mana pool."

"Yeah, my mana pool has reached depletion. I can’t cast any spell at all now."

"This is not good. Chemosh was still holding those giants back when I rescued you. Your mana pool is depleted which meant Chemosh was no longer there to hold them back."

"Yeah... you may wanna fly faster now. If the giants catch up to us then we will be screwed."

"Why didn't you tell me telepathically that you have activated the [Soul Bound] spell earlier? I could have let you die back then when your [Second Life] was still active."

"No worry, I still have a Blood Pendant and a Blood Ring fully charged. Oh shit…"

"What now?"

"I hid the Blood Pendant and Blood Ring inside the Storage Ring. The Storage Ring was hidden inside my left boot."

Finwe looked down and saw Kain was missing a left boot on his left feet. He asked, "Watcher damn you, Kain. No one here will care if you are a Blood Mage. Why did you have to hide the Blood Equipment?"

"Dude, it was just a bad habit."

"Let's find a spot to hide so I can banish you back to your realm for my mana to start to recover. I have to go back to find my boot after that."

"You know that every time you banished me back to my realm, not even an hour later you would call me again using [Soul Bridge]. Kain, I needed my 'me time'. It's been a while since I have an actual good sleep."

"Hey! That wasn't my fault. One hour in your realm is like a year in here. I have tried my best not to call you all the time."

"Well, try better!"

"I will!"

"Promise?"

"I won't call you again!"

Kain and Finwe continued to argue before they found a safe spot for Kain to rest. Finwe was then banished back into his realm. But knowing Kain will call him again using [Soul Bridge] within an hour so he wasn't thrilled about it. Ever since Kain stays inside the Third-tier of this Timeless Dungeon, he had activated [Soul Bridge] way too many times which interrupted Finwe from having his quality 'me time'. Finwe wanted to help Kain, but not like every hour that was why he referred to staying inside the Timeless Dungeon with Kain as well. But if Finwe stays, Kain won't be able to recover his mana pool.

"I won't call you again, selfish!" Kain thought to himself as he closed his eyes to get some sleep.

The next day inside the Timeless Dungeon. Kain activated [Soul Bridge] again and Finwe was forced to fly through the portal. Instead of asking if Kain needed help, Finwe drew out his long sword and started chasing after him while yelling out loud, “I’m going to murder you, dumb ass human! You banished me back to my realm and not even a minute later you already call me back here? I will f**king kill you!”

“Wait! Calm down!” Kain continuously ran while asking Finwe to stop.

“Please stop! I have a proposal!” Kain continuously begging Finwe to stop.

“What proposal?” Finwe stopped and asked Kain with his eyebrow raised in suspicion.

“Look. I have found my left boot. I am wearing the Blood Pendant and the Blood Ring right now. My mana pool is fully recovered. Well, I have to use some mana to activate [Soul Bridge] again as the penalty of violating the seventy-two hours cool down. My injuries were healed by the Celestial Angel. There is no giant nearby. I called you here so you can rest while I guard you.”

“What do you mean?”

“I meant… you were right. I should have let you stay here with me instead of keeping banishing you back to your realm. So why don’t you take a long good sleep of a day or so while I stand guard for you before banishing you back to your realm again?”

“Do you mean it?”

“Of course. Go ahead, sleep while I stay to guard you.”

Finwe put his sword back into the holster and immediately dropped to the ground to sleep. It had been more than three weeks since he could get a good eight hours of sleep because Kain kept calling him back every hour or so. In Kain’s argument, it was because of the time difference. One hour in real life is equal to one year in this Timeless Dungeon. When Kain got into a deep shit situation and his mana pool was near depletion, or when he faced great dangers and needed a strong ally to assist, he had to call upon Finwe using the [Soul Bridge] spell. There is no human living in this realm, Kain didn't want to use his Blood Equipment because there will be no way to refill it. Kain has tried to use the blood of the giants to cast Blood Magic but it doesn’t work meaning those giants’ blood can’t be matched to humans’ blood.

Sixteen hours later. Finwe woke up feeling fully rested. Kain smiled and asked, "How do you feel now?"

"Could have been better, but it was good enough. Thank you."

"Do you still want to murder me?"

"No. Sorry about that."

"Ay, it was my fault anyway. I shouldn't have called you that many times."

"Are you going to banish me back now?"

"My mana pool is still nearly full. I don't need to banish you back yet. How about we go hunt a giant deer for dinner first before I send you back?"

"Fine by me."
