Carrying Lunthus’s head in his hand, Dorgan flew back toward Jaane’s location in a rush manner. Dorgan was glad to see no goblin could have broken through the [Circle of Protection] he placed on Jaane yet. His Six Wings Angel was still fighting strong and it seems like the angel had killed more than six hundred goblins.
Landed on the ground heroically, Dorgan raised Lunthus’s head and shouted, “Your King is dead! You will soon die too!”
Seeing an Eight Wings Angel was carrying the Lunthus’s head, those goblins knew they couldn’t fight back such a powerful being which was why they decided to flee the battlefield hoping to find a way to continue to live.
Instead of chasing after them, Dorgan deactivated [Circle of Protection] and [Summon Angel Warrior] spell. He turned toward Jaane and said, “We needed to leave soon. My mana pool is about to reach depletion.”
“Have you casted [Mana Regeneration] spell on yourself yet, Guild Master?” Jaane asked.
“I have casted [Mana Regeneration] spell on myself and will continue casting it but it will take a while for my mana pool to fully recover. If I continued to keep this Eight Wings Angel Form, then [Mana Regeneration] wouldn't be able to keep my mana pool from reaching depletion.”
“What about the quest given to our Mages' Guild by the Baron? Should we go back to hunt the remaining goblins later?”
“This Purple Goblin’s head will bring us much more gold coins compared to what the Baron could offer. After fully recovering my mana, I will summon a Four Wings Angel to hunt down the remaining goblins later. By the way, this Purple Goblin is an entry Fourth Stage Saint Warrior, not late Third Stage Saint Warrior as you have mentioned.”
“My apology, Guild Master. I received a strike from the Purple Goblin once from the back but didn’t use that opportunity to calculate his strength correctly.”
“I can’t blame you. The Purple Goblin must have lowered his physical strength when striking you on the back because he wanted to torture you for long, not kill you in one strike which was why you miscalculated his strength.”
“I see. If he used full strength, my body would have been cut into two pieces.”
Jaane was not surprised that her Guild Master could kill the Purple Goblin possessing the strength of an entry Fourth Stage Saint Warrior. He is one of the strongest Legend-tier Light Mages in Toria Continents, Guild Master of the infamous Angel Six Guild, Dorgan Lanik.
While walking back toward Vucran city with Jaane, Dorgan asked, “How do you like the position of Vice Guild Master so far?”
“It is great. I do have a question.”
“Feel free to ask.”
“There are other stronger guild members compared to me, why did you pick me as the Vice Guild Master?”
“Because of your management skills. Being strong wasn’t enough to be a good leader. Running a Mages' Guild wasn’t that easy either. After my last Vice Guild Master quitted to join a bigger guild, I was overwhelmed as my work kept piling up to the point that I didn't even have time to meditate daily. The sad thing is, besides you, no one stepped up to offer their help in managing the guild. After seeing your great management skills, I could relax and focus more on completing quests and meditating regularly.”
“I thank you for your trust, Guild Master.”
“You don’t have to keep on calling me Guild Master. You may just call me by my name.”
“I rather not, Guild Master. It’s a sign of disrespect for a guild member to call their leader by name.”
“Haha… Up to you then, I won't force you.”
After thirty minutes of silence, Dorgan asked, “Jaane, do you know about my last wife who has died of old age?”
“Yes, I’m sorry for your loss.”
“Ay, she lived for ninety-two years. She had a good life. How about you? I know you are not married but are you seeing anyone?”
“You meant dating?”
“Yes. Are you having a boyfriend?”
“No, I don’t have a boyfriend or dating anybody.”
“No arranged marriage?”
“No, Guild Master.”
“Great! Because my last wife just died, I am now single. Do you want to be my next wife? I know my age is much higher compared to yours but we are both Legend-tier magic casters that can live up to two thousand years old. Age difference won’t be an issue for us. To be actual, I am considered young among other Legend-tier magic casters.”
Jaane smiled when she heard Dorgan asked her to be his wife. It wasn’t because she was happy to hear him ask her that, but it was because Jaane was thinking about someone else. “If Kain asks me to be his wife, I will never say reject him.”
Seeing Jaane smiled, Dorgan thought she accepted his marriage proposal. He thought to himself, “Who can really resist my charm? I am handsome, young, talented, and powerful. Not to mention that I am the Guild Master of the infamous Angel Six Guild. There are plenty of girls waiting for me to get married. Jaane Almos, you are very lucky that I have chosen you to be my next wife. I will certainly advance into the Saint-tier that allows me to live for eternity in the future. Two thousand years married to you will be long but I can endure it.” Dorgan knew Jaane is a talented magic caster but advancing into Saint-tier? That is a dream all warriors and magic casters have. Unfortunately, only a very small percentage of warriors and magic casters could advance into the Saint-tier. However, Dorgan knew Jaane wouldn't be one of the lucky ones who can advance into Saint-tier.
After more than ten minutes of silence, Dorgan asked again, “Jaane Almos, do you want to be my next wife? I haven't received an answer yet.”
Jaane was too focused on dreaming about Kain, she was dragged back to reality after hearing Dorgan asked her that dumb question again. Jaane answered in a respectful tone as she bowed toward him and said, “I’m sorry. But my answer will be no, Guild Master.”
Dorgan was surprised and feeling a little annoyed by Jaane’s answer. "How could she deny my marriage proposal? Did one of the goblin cause some injuries to her brain?" Dorgan thought.
“Jaane, may I know why you denied my marriage proposal?” Dorgan put on a fake smile and asked Jaane.
“I loved someone else.” Jaane gave Dorgan a short answer because he doesn’t need to know more than that.
“Is it Kain Almos? I have heard the story about how he saved the Student Mages of Nosh from a Legend-tier Black Panther in the magical forest near Redkeep city. I know you were the last person to see Kain alive and have been blaming yourself that he died protecting you. Still, he has been dead for a long time. Should you move on by now? As a Legend-tier magic caster, you can live up to two thousand years. Why would you loyally love someone who has died for that long? I’m sure he would want you to move on. Even if Kain wasn’t dead, a low ranking member of the Gray like him won’t suit to be your husband. You needed someone like me who is powerful enough to protect you from dangers such as fighting with the Purple Goblin back there.”
