She gets back to class and sits, then their Homeroom teacher entered again.
"I have a new student with me, he transfered from another school here. Please come in" she said ushering him in.
He walked into the class and greeted them, "Good morning everyone, I am Sasuke".
"Good morning, what are your hobbies?" Mari shouted out.
He simply smiled, while the teacher hushed her, "I didn't do anything wrong if you ask me". Just then, the Reverend Father entered the class, everyone gasps including Mari.
"He is not your classmate yet" as if getting their selves back, they all stood up to greet the Reverend Father. "Please sit everyone" they did and he continues addressing them.
"Today he would choose from the two classes, A or B which he would want to stay in, so till then children. Take care and study well. That would be all Mrs Hasegawa" he said and left the classroom".
"Children? We are not kids you know" he whispered to himself but the teacher's sensitive ears caught wind of that.
"Kobayashi get up, for your punishment you would clean the swimming pool during lunch break".
"Oh come on, I just whispered".
"Don't let me add a detention".
"Sorry Mrs Hasegawa".
"Please I want to know about your class, can anyone fill me in?".
"Sure" Mari said while raising up her hands and spoke, "My name is Mari Kimura, this class is lovely, if you choose here, you'll love it".
"Sit down Kimura, let someone else talk" Bashira Yamazaki said.
"No, let her be ummm, your name?".
"Bashira Yamazaki. She is behaving funny and stupid.
"Bashira... Can I Sasuke?".
"Sure".
"Well about this class, its noisy first of... "
"Come on Sakiko"
"You want him leaving" they murmured.
"Let her speak please" he said hushing them.
"Thanks, well there are lovely people in this class, everyone is lively, never boring, its a fun class, a cooperative class and finally, well honestly if I was to stay in class A for a week, I might fall ill, its so different and no fun".
"Whoa, nice"
"You got it Sakiko" that last part seemed to thrill and ignite their praise more.
"Anything else anyone wants to say?" He asked the class.
"She has said it all. I am Sai Suzuki, the class representative, I would love to be your friend, even if you choose our class or not".
"Thank you, I pick this class Mrs Hasegawa" he said turning to the Homeroom teacher.
"That's good, please take your seat over there" he was placed in an empty seat close to Sakiko.
"That would be all for now, we are having a staff meeting, so I would take my leave and report to the Reverend Father".
She leaves and Sasuke goes to sit down.
His classmates soon surround him asking him question, especially the girls.
Later the Reverend Father came to the class to call him out, and he followed him. Outside the class he spoke to Sasuke breaking the news to him.
"I am sorry son, I just received a phone call from the hospital, your mother just passed away".
"No, Father it can't be" he shouts while everyone in the class murmurs.
"What is it?"
"What's going on?".
"He seems to have heard a bad news".
Sakiko gets up and was about going out of the class when Sasuke walks in. "Sasuke, what's wrong, why the shout?"
"Nothing Sakiko" he walks past her and goes to sit down, he puts his head on his desk and cries, the talks to himself, "mum, I'm sorry, I found her, I couldn't bring her to see you. If I did on time perhaps perhaps... " he stops and looks up when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
