Yang Xinyu entered the lounge with food packets in his hands. Zhou Zhili got up from the sofa instantly as she was so used to attend to him as his secretary.
"Good afternoon Sir."
Yang Xinyu nodded. He wanted her to go away.
Zhou Zhili understood his disposition and bade them goodbye. Wu Lina came to see her to the door. "If possible do come to the house. I may not be coming here frequently," she said.
"I will try," Zhou Zhili replied with a warm smile.
When she left Wu Lina returned to Yang Xinyu and informed him about Bo Xilai and Zhou Zhili. "Now they are together. So nice, right? Can I call them sometime at home?
Yang Xinyu coughed and said, "Very good." He was ecstatic. "Sure you can call them. When are they getting married?"
"I don't know."
"Okay, come here and now kiss your future husband," demanded Yang Xinyu.
Wu Lina stood in her place and beckoned him to come over to her if he wanted that kiss. Yang Xinyu strolled over, picked her up and kissed on her lips so sensuously that Wu Lina was left wanting more. He released her and walked back to the food packets thoroughly satisfied with his performance. Wu Lina gawked at his back.
Yang Xinyu took out the food from the packets. "Come and sit here," he called her pointing with chopsticks at the space near him on the bed.
Wu Lina walked over and sat down obediently.
Yang Xinyu started feeding her like a baby. He would wipe off the small bits and pieces of food that stuck on her lips with his hands.
"Go to the house after lunch. I will be back slightly late. You have to attend a dinner with me in the evening," he said while feeding her.
"Where Xinyu? Is it okay to attend dinner with you? We haven't been officially engaged…"
"Yes it is."
"Where do we have to go?"
"The Minister for Science and Technology of the country will be here in City H. All the prominent businessmen along with their spouses are being invited for a dinner with him."
Wu Lina was again gaping at him. "I am not your spouse yet… I don't know how to dress up for such formal occasions! I can't go!" She was afraid she would fudge up things.
"You have to," Yang Xinyu didn't take 'no' for an answer.
Wu Lina sighed and acquiesced.
She left the office after lunch.
Yang Xinyu accompanied her to the parking area. The car was ready and waiting for her.
"You treat me like a delicate flower," she squeezed his hand.
"You are my delicate flower. You don't know what I went through when weren't with me… I want to make up for all the time we weren't together," he said wanting to pamper her to the point she would be spoiled!
She shuddered when she thought about those days. Yang Xinyu held her tighter and kissed her lightly on her head. "Let's try and forget about those times, okay?"
"Yes," she whispered.
When Yang Xinyu was about to open the door of the car a shutter clicked breaking the silence of the otherwise quiet area.
One of the reporters had sneaked in the parking area and clicked their pictures from a distance. The security men who were around the couple heard the shutter cl.i.c.k.i.n.g and scanned the area. As soon as they spotted the reporter, he ran. Two men ran after him but he managed to slip them.
Wu Lina was immediately driven away accompanied with two security men, Lu Shiming being one of them.
Yang Xinyu had become wary of Wu Lina's security to the extent that he had asked Lu Shiming to add four more guards who were stationed near the entrance of the penthouse 24x7.
When Wu Lina reached home she went to the bedroom and slept off. It had been an extremely tiring day for her. She had hoped that Yang Xinyu's mother accepted her…
When Yang Xinyu came back home in the evening at 7pm he saw that she was still sleeping. He didn't disturb her and went to the study table to work on his laptop. Wu Lina woke up shortly hearing the papers rustle. She saw Yang Xinyu sitting in front of his laptop with intense concentration. After removing her comforter she went to him and hugged him from behind. Yang Xinyu tilted his head to look at her, enveloped his arms around her neck while dipping his head in the crook of her neck.
She held his hand and pulled him to bed so that he rests a bit before going for the dinner. Yang Xinyu didn't resist. He fell off to sleep as soon as he hit the pillow. Wu Lina covered him with the comforter and went to take a shower. She had to get ready for the evening.
Her wardrobe had a large variety of expensive dresses courtesy Yang Xinyu. He had bought so much for her that she was spoilt for choice. After skimming through them she finally decided to wear a formal azure blue dress for the occasion. It was a long gown made from silk and net. The silk fabric inside was until the knees and the net that fell to the ground accentuated it. It had a low back. A rose shaped blue flower made from net fabric prettified it on the right shoulder. She adorned herself with blue sapphire earrings and applied subtle pink rouge that enhanced her milky white skin. The chain that Yang Xinyu had gifted her was shining bright on her neck. After pinning her hair up in a neat bun and applying pink lip-gloss she was ready. She turned to wake Yang Xinyu but found him standing on the doorway looking at her intensely.
"What are you looking at?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"At my lovely wife," he said folding his hands and leaning against the wardrobe.
"I am not your wife…"
"Let's get married tomorrow. I can't wait anymore…"
Wu Lina gave him a beatific smile and started to walk out towards the bedroom when he caught her from behind.
"Ah! Xinyu, leave me! You will ruin my hair."
"Say yes and I'll let you go," he said.
"Let's get this case resolved Xinyu…"
His embrace loosened…
"Sorry…" he sighed.
"Its not your fault Xinyu."
He left her reluctantly and went to get ready.
Wearing a black suit with a grey tie, Yang Xinyu looked every bit of a handsome man who had walked out of a movie.
Together they stepped into the elevator with several security men around them. They went to the venue in two cars – one in which they Wu Lina and Yang Xinyu were sitting and the other which had four security men.
"Do we need that much security?" asked Wu Lina.
"Yes we do," he said.
She looked at his unyielding expression and became quiet.
"Chairman Yang Min-Chang and my mother will also be there. Just stay by my side and don't stray else mother may find another opportunity to insult you," Yang Xinyu pressed her hand out of worry.
"I don't think she would do that Xinyu. It is a high profile function," she said assuring him.
He smiled at her naivety.
When they reached the venue Wu Lina and Yang Xinyu stepped out of the car. Lu Shiming escorted them till the main entrance. Wu Lina was highly impressed by the sheer elegance of the historic city hall. Its architecture was representative of the milieu in which it was built. There was a red carpet that was lying on the steps that led to the main entrance. Inside the hall there were huge chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. The white marble floor was interspersed with small black granite geometric patterns. There were lavish counters of alcohol on the right sight. The waiters moved around amongst the guests carrying exquisite delicacies on the tray.
