Chapter 125 - I Will Break Your Legs

In the Yang Mansion…

The Chairman was sitting in his bedroom and had ordered confinement for Yang Chún qiàn. She was not allowed to go out of the bedroom for a few days.

"You have brought disgrace to the family Yang Chún qiàn. This was the most contemptible act I had ever expected from a woman like you. From now on you will stay in this house and never step out."

Yang Chún qiàn sniggered, "You cannot confine me, Min-Chang!"

Yang Min-Chang went near her and warned her, 'If you move out of this room, I will break your legs."

Chún qiàn was scared now. Although she wouldn't admit her fear, the Chairman's warning had induced fear in her. She felt as if her limbs were paralyzed. Any person from afar could spot her tension and fear. The Chairman was like a dragon that would swallow her completely. She was frightened by his expression. When the Chairman left, she took an intake of breath and stumbled backwards on to the bed. Her shoulders shook in fear. She looked up again at him and realized that he wasn't there anymore. He had closed the room from outside and there were security men posted. She was truly confined.

When the Chairman came out of her room, he slouched. Slowly he made his way to the living room and, gripping the back of the sofa, he made his way to the seat. He pinched his furrows as the tension had taken toll on his general wellbeing. Ever since the incident when Yang Chún qiàn had plotted an attack on Wu Lina, he felt that he owed it to her. His wife's actions were beyond comprehension. He was ashamed of her and pitied Wu Lina for having to undergo such cruel treatment.

---

Just after the frightening incident, Yang Xinyu and Wu Lina had gone to the apartment. Yang Xinyu had wrapped his arms around Wu Lina who was shaking in panic. She didn't know that it would be bloated into such an issue. She was bruised at many places, her skin become blue at various places. When they reached the penthouse, she fainted, blackness surrounded her like a sheath. The last thing she remembered was Yang Xinyu's beautiful face looking at her and saying something, which she didn't hear. Everything after that was in a slow motion until she lost complete consciousness…

Black vines crawled around her as she sat on a bed covered with a white bed sheet. They were creepy. They tried to crawl up to her bed to reach out for her legs. She was constantly moving away from them. The black vines were non-relenting, as they crept nearer, finally grasping her legs. They spread around her and covered her body as if feeding on her for their nourishment. Once again she was engulfed into darkness… she succ.u.mbed to the obscurity…

"Come back, Lina…" she would often hear that voice coming from afar. She would try to break free from those vines around her to reach the source of the voice, but her energy always failed her.

She heard someone sobbing quietly near her, the tears falling like dewdrops on the vines that gripped her. Those tears were slowly burning the creepers away, giving her body the much needed freedom and strength. She tried to move her hand to reach out to the person, to feel the person who was with her, but she again failed.

She didn't after how much time she woke up but when she did, the vines around her had retreated to the extent that her pale skin was visible. Her vigor returned and she slowly opened her eyes through the haze.

"Doctor, it's been two days. When will she regain her consciousness?" she heard Yang Xinyu speaking softly.

"Mr. Yang, we usually give 48 hours for the patient to wake up and see their progress. We will monitor her for another 12 hours and after that, the recovery possibility thins down…" replied the doctor sympathetically.

Wu Lina fluttered her eyes a little and tried to speak. However, the words choked in her throat and the soft tissue of her mouth and throat vibrated as she let out her breath making a "rrrrrr" sound.

Yang Xinyu and the doctor immediately turned towards her. Yang Xinyu sat down beside her and taking her small hands in his large ones he curled them affectionately. His eyes brimmed as he picked her hand to his lips to kiss them. She felt his tears on her fingers and spread her palm to brush along his stubble. It seemed he hadn't shaved for a long time and his stubble now grazed the soft skin of her palm.

"How are you feeling?" he asked extremely concerned.

"Ms. Wu, can you hear me?" asked the doctor who was now fully alert. He pressed the bell near her bed to call the nurses. In a few seconds a group of four nurses were standing near the doctor, all ready to take his orders.

Wu Lina nodded slightly while her lips curved in a faint smile. She lifted her other hand to indicate that she was thirsty only to find that a tube was inserted in it. There were several other tubes that were attached to her body monitoring her vitals.

Yang Xinyu understood what she wanted. As he stood up to fetch water for her the doctor stopped him and said, "Just moisten her lips and give very little water for now. You can give water once that drip is over." He looked happy.

Saying that, the doctor exited while the nurses asked Yang Xinyu to vacate the room so that they could sponge Wu Lina clean and dry.

He returned to the room thirty minutes later to find a smiling Wu Lina. The nurses had left and she was sitting, propped up with the pillows behind. It took him exactly a second to envelope her into his arms. He had gripped her so tightly as if trying to crush her. "Don't do this to me ever again. Don't faint…"

Wu Lina hugged him back, "No, I won't."

"Do you know what happened while you were unconscious for the past 36 hours?" he asked not willing to leave her, ever.
