He moved up from his sitting position slowly sliding up the wall. Without saying anything he stepped towards her and enveloped her in his arms dipping his face in her neck.
"Why didn't you pick my call?" He asked her hoarsely without lifting his head.
Wu Lina was taken aback. Somehow she managed to open her room with the keys in that position and nudged him a little to enter inside. Yang Xinyu broke the embrace and entered her tiny room for the first time. He didn't know why but it felt cozy. Holding her hand he pulled her towards him to gather her in his arms again.
"I had gone for my classes. Remember I had to submit my assignment today?" She said. "I got late because we had a special lecture from a visiting faculty," she continued.
She felt awkward in his embrace. She pushed him away slightly but he wouldn't budge. She pushed him with greater force, but he still didn't budge. Then she applied all her might to move this pervert away from her, and yet she failed again! It was like he didn't feel that she was pushing him.
"CEO Yang, would you like to have tea?" She asked losing her strength and panting a bit.
He raised his head to look at her and nodded.
The trick worked! She made him sit on the sofa with help.
Wu Lina went to her tiny kitchen and prepared hot ginger tea for him. She joined him on the sofa and both had tea in silence.
While sipping tea she took out her mobile to check important messages and emails. She was shocked to see thirty missed calls and all of them were from Yang Xinyu!
She looked at him nervously and asked, "CEO Yang, what happened? Didn't you have an attendant today? What about your medication? Did you get a nightmare? I am seeing you called me…"
Her barrage of questions made his lips curl up slightly. He watched Wu Lina with interest and stared at her deeply.
"Shushhh…" He placed a finger on her lips. He was feeling much better now…
'What does he mean by that? So what went wrong earlier? Oh my god! Did he get a panic attack? He looks shabby!' His appearance caused Wu Lina to cringe. "Let's go back to the facility CEO Yang. It is not right for the patients to come to the nurses' quarters especially when they are under treatment." She goaded him to go back.
"Okay…" he replied feeling low again. He didn't insist on staying back. He knew that it was against the work ethics.
Wu Lina stood up and helped him to stand up. She held his hand and took him back to the hospital. Thankfully there were not many people around or else she would have been reported.
Back in the hospital room she urged him to change his hospital dress. She wanted him to be relaxed before she left for the night. He changed and lied down on his bed. Wu Lina covered him with the blanket, stroked his hair and was about to leave when he held her wrist and pulled her back by his side.
"Can't you sleep here tonight?" He asked.
She smiled and said, "No CEO Yang, a male nurse will be coming in a short while to attend to you."
"I must leave now. I'll be here tomorrow morning". She gently removed her hand from his grasp and left with a smile lingering on her face.
Yang Xinyu was captivated by her smile. Her small face could fit his palm. Her luscious lips were inviting. He had to suppress his desire to pinch those lips. He shifted in his place.
'This won't do! I have to devise a way for her to sleep in my room, near me, on this sofa… no, no, on my bed… as soon as possible!' His thoughts made him mull hard.
He tried to divert his mind to mundane office work. But his mind won't listen to him. Wu Lina was back on his mind again. He wanted to cage her and not show her to the world. He wanted to have her for himself. And the more he thought about it, the more he became obsessed with the idea of having her around him. Was this madness? He began to wonder why did he keep thinking of Wu Lina repeatedly.
He relieved himself of his tension...
He had decided never to let a woman enter his heart after Ying Yue. But the wall he had built so carefully around his heart was crumbling slowly with Wu Lina breaking it and acting as the enchantress…
Yang Xinyu finally slept with a fluttering heart and a glimmer of hope…
